Okay, I am new here and I love these boards!
I just booked my family's second trip for the end of September and we are soooo excited. Our first trip was on Christmas 2005.
Let me start off by saying I am really not that vain. I try to look nice wherever I go and my two girls are always dressed, hair done, etc. On our first trip I had a hard time liking the fact that I had to wear tennis shoes with my capri's. I decided I would wear my cute sandles instead and off we went. I think I made it to IASW before I was in pain.
My sweet husband took the shuttle back to Embassy and got my running shoes. From then on out I didn't care what my outfit and shoes looked like.
Now, onto my hair.
I have natural wavy hair that I have to straighten everyday. I live here in Utah where the air is nice and dry and my hair looks great all day. Imagine my surprise to walk out of our hotel room in Disneyland the first morning and it's FOGGY! My smooth hair just puffed up!
Both of my girls bangs went straight and I felt wet and muggy. I just couldn't feel up to taking a lot of pictures. I felt yucky. My poor girls looked like ragamuffins! Then I looked around and saw that most kids did!
I've decided that Disney is not a fashion show and we should just go to have fun. It's a big step for me to put comfort above style.
I will just put my hair up and buy a great hat.
Another thread got me thinking about this post. Someone was commenting on some women who wear slutty clothes to Disneyland. I wanted to say that on our last trip on Christmas, there was a girl and her boyfriend walking around together. She was wearing this Santa get-up and my mouth hit the floor (I think my husbands did too
) The thing BARLEY covered her butt and did not cover her chest. I was uncomfortable for all the pre-teen boys there who didn't know where to look when she was in line with them. It was soooo inappropriate! Please cover yourselves up people!
Thanks for reading my first post! I am so excited for our second trip and I know I will get great advice from all of you! I am also feeling good about letting myself go and not worry so much about looks!
