Well, I have another WDW trip in the works this year - Dec 5-14 for MouseFest - and even though I still have 8 months to go I am really getting excited!

But recently I've been seeing a lot of posts on various message boards titled "Getting nervous about Southwest" and "Getting nervous about CBR" and "Getting nervous about DME", and all of these have got me wondering, will I get nervous about some aspect of my trip, too?

I'm not a nervous person by nature, so seeing all of these other people posting that they get nervous about their transportation, or resort choice, or some dining option or entertainment option that they have chosen for their trip is really getting me nervous that I might be stricken with nervousness just before my trip too.

So far I'm perfectly content with my choices, but what happens if I suddenly get scared away from my airline, or my hotel, or my rental car company right before the trip?! What if I want to change something that I've had booked for months a few days before I leave but can't? I'm really getting nervous that I might get nervous and not be able to do anything about it! I'm really nervous that I might become so nervous about flying that I might not be able to get on the plane. I'm nervous that I might get so nervous about my hotel choice that I cancel it without booking a new one, and wind up sleeping in my rental car. And I'm nervous that I will get so nervous about my rental car that I'll cancel it and book with National Emerald Aisle service at the last minute, at $800 for 6 days.

What if I become so nervous about the whole trip that I just sit and stare at my travel plans for hours on departure day and miss my flight entirely?!

What do you do to alleviate the fear that you might become afraid? How do you cope with the nervous reaction to other peoples' nervousness? I'm not nervous about my trip, but I'm really getting nervous about the possibility that I might become nervous!

I'm scared.

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

This was said by either Frankiln Delano Roosevelt or Carrot Top -- I always get those guys confused.

For example if you become absolutely paralyzed by fear, you can call me and I will take over your vacation, so that you'll have nothing to fear. You could get an RX for anti-anxiety meds, but you might become so nervous that you forget to take them. PM me if you want my phone number, and then I'll sit by the phone waiting for the opportunity to relive you of your anxiety. Anything else I can do for you, let me know.

Just to be REALLY safe, you should have a back-up plan for your back-up plan. I'm volunteering to be that back-up to your back-up. You should feel sooo lucky that you've found a place where people are willing to put their own lives on hold at a moment's notice just to reassure you. DISer's are just like that, I guess, always thinking of others before ourselves.

I also volunteer to help rid you of your anxiety. I'll take any room, tickets, etc. that you are too nervous about using. (I know - I'll have to take my place in line. Others are ahead of me. :sad1: )

Will, I am nervous by nature, and I'll tell you this: It'll be OK.

If things don't work out your way, they'll work out one way or another. There's no point in worrying too much. It'll just drive you batty. : )

I like the advice of always having a back-up plan "just in case," but you're a seasoned WDW visitor and it sounds like your original plans will fall into place just fine. :thumbsup2
