Well after a year and a half of planning and the past month from He** with getting everything squared away at work and home getting ready, we leave tomorrow for our 5 week expedition to Florida. With any luck, Next Friday we will be having dinner in the Magic Kingdom.

Now the only thing I need to do is drive 2600 miles without incident. Tomorrow's temperature in Central California is to be 106. Our first stop, Phoenix AZ is said to be 116. Going to be a hot start, will need to watch the truck temp as we drive.

For any interested, I will try and update as we go. (but sometimes not as good at that as I wish, to many demands while traveling).

So any that see a Silver Silverado pulling the Airstream east on Hwy 10, give us a waive and wish us luck.

Have fun! We will be doing a similar trek from New Mexico next year.
Oh by the way someone here warned me not to say "or bust" on my trip to the Fort in 2011 with my pop up. Made it there and back, no problem. Two months later while cranking up for a trip to Yellowstone, the pup collapsed on us! First and last trip to Disney with the pup. Next year will be our first with the TT. :upsidedow

Safe journey, your hard work will just make the reward that much sweeter!

John,. Enjoy your journey to the Fort! I know that when we complete our 1,300 mile trip from Upstate NY and finally see the sign at the entrance to Fort Wilderness I get an incredible feeling of happiness and relief. I can't even imagine what It feels like for you to complete the journey from Cali. Good luck!

Have fun!:drive:

Well hello. Made it to San Antonio. Drove three days and covered 1600 miles so far. First night in Phoneix was 118. Thankfully the Airstream has good air conditioning. Today was a Segway tour including the Alamo and a tour of River Walk. Trying to get used to humidity.

Tomorrow it's back to the road and should arrive at fort Friday morning. Missing the bad weather I hear.

Until then

John

Yes- Good thing you missed all the rain in San Antonio- you may have gotten stuck...if you want humidity, make sure you walk around Houston .

Safe travels John and family. It appears you are more than 1/2 way, and you are enjoying the area of your stops. I think sometimes we should enjoy our travel surroundings more. Have a wonderful time at the Fort. Here is wishing pixie dust, air conditioning, laughter, smiles, and memories. Enjoy. Keep us up to date when and if you have time.
