My parents are both seniors and will be at WDW in a few months. They will be staying at the BWV. For them it's a hassle and a long trip to take busses to get from there to AKL. Other than multiple busses and maybe an hour plus ride, is there a better way to get there? Can you get taxi's at BWV? Coming back they were going to go to the MK hotels to look around so that will be the easy part, getting a bus back to the TTC and then from either the TTC or in front of the MK back to BWV.

All thoughts appreciated....

Yes they can get a Taxi from the BW to the AKL, and it would be the easiest for them and fastest (I think it is around $12-$15, but not totally sure). For them to go to the MK resorts, they just need to hop on the MK bus from AKL and that will take them to the main entrance to MK, then board the monorail to begin their journey on the resort loop. Buses from the resorts no longer go to the TTC, only the front gate to MK. Once done, as long as MK is still open (or before 1 hour after closing) then they can catch the BW bus back to their resort.

Taxis are normally waiting outside all WDW resorts. For the BWV your parents will need to enter the Boardwalk Inn and go out the main entrance (not the Boardwalk side). If a taxi is not available a Cast Member will get one for them right away.

It is so very easy to take the bus from BoardWalk Villas (our home resort) to Animal Kingdom Park. It's one of the longest rides to a theme park, but direct. I would then look at the overhead bus signs, and move over to the AK Lodge bus queue. Then just hop on over to AKL. ::MickeyMo

We have taken a cab BACK (at the end of the day, with a tired 4 yr. old, in the rain) to BWV. That is what I would recommend. Don't hop around looking for buses, transportation, after a long day. It was money WELL worth spent, maybe $15 plus tip. $20 in that situation, I am on vacation, is worth it to me!

You said they will be going to MK resorts though after AKL. I don't know, having been there a million times, that is awfully complicated at the end of a day. Hop off at a resort, get back on a monorail, get back off at MK to find the bus home, or get off at TCC to wander around, trying to find the bus home. :rotfl: JMHO , do AKL one day. Do the MK resorts another.

DH and I just took a cab from the Swan(right behind BWV) to AKL for dinner at Jiko's - cabs were lined up in front of the hotel, no waiting (when we moved over to BWV there were always a few cabs waiting out front there, also) - cab fare was $15. + tip - well worth it to us at the end of a hot day to avoid taking a bus to AK and then waiting for the bus to AKL.
