Thanks for asking Heidi!
I'm feeling great thanks (albeit a little tired in general) but I'm not unwell anymore!! it passed as quickly as it came thankfully!
And my FIL is doing amazingly. it was a week since his surgery on Monday, he's not attached to any thing anymore (no oxygen, no drainage tubes and no drip for pain meds etc) and is able to go for short walks along the hospital corridor (with a walker and a nurse supervising)
he hasn't used many of his muscles for a long time now, so he needs to build up muscle tone and strength but in terms of his lungs, he's doing so well.
in fact, they're saying he might even come home on Friday! 12 days after the surgery (we were initially told 21 days)
he'll have quite a few restrictions going forward (cant eat seafood or soft serve ice cream or deli meats and will most likely he a type 2 diabetic, for example) but he should be able to live a normal life in general.
