We are spending 10 days at the Contemporary from Aug. 18-27 and I am getting a bit nervous. I have heard both opinions on this board and I hope I made a wise choice (the price was GREAT). ;) We are in a standard room.

I need you all to get my family and I excited and thrilled about picking the Contemporary so let us know why it's your favorite and all the great things about it :D

Thanks!

Emmy

This is where we are staying on our next trip....so we haven't "stayed" yet, but checked it out when we went there for dinner on our last trip.

We stayed at the Contemporary our first time last November. After staying at the AS and moderates, we were definitely in awe!!! The two pools are so nice, especially the one by the bay. The lobby is just something else, it was decorated for Christmas...the arcade is awesome!!! We couldn't get our granddaughter away from there sometimes. I like the fact that the food cafe was open 24 hrs, that was a plus for us. Being on the monorail loop and also able to stroll over to the MK without fighting for a seat on the bus..well...big plus!! We also visited both the Poly and Grand Floridian in a heartbeat, once watching the Electrical Parade from the beach at the Polynesian. The resort room was larger than we were accustomed to...and would most definitely stay here again if we could get the fabulous rate that we did. In my opinion a stay at the Contemporary is a go!:D

My family of 5 stayed at the Contemporary for 8 nights in June/July, 2000 and we really enjoyed the hotel. It was my DH and I, two teenage DD and a 5 yr old DD.

We were in the North Garden Wing, 2nd floor. From our window, we could see the Magic Kingdom fireworks. We often walked over to the Magic Kingdom (it was faster, since the monorail stops 3 times going to the MK - on the way back from MK, you're the first stop). It was a short, pleasant walk. The pools were neat - kids enjoyed the slide.

Its also a very short walk to the main bldg - for the restaurants, shops, monorail, etc. The teenagers LOVED the large arcade and the "food court" across from the arcade (great chili cheese fries!) Outside the arcade is a "kids set" - sofa and chairs with a TV playing Disney cartoons. My little one loved sitting there watching those shows - and it was a great spot for people watching. We really had a nice time there!

Chef Mickeys was great, and we also had a great dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse (bbq ribs were very good!). When we had dinner at the Concourse, my 5 yr old would wave at the people on the monorail as it zoomed by. One night for dinner, my 2 teenagers went to the Grand Floridian for the Villian Dinner (its not offered any more); and then they rode the monorail to go shopping at the other monorail hotels. My DH and I and my little one rode the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge and had dinner. It was really nice.

We really enjoyed being on the monorail - it is so convenient! Bus service is pretty good too. The rooms are very large, lots of space - two queen size beds and a day bed. Bathroom is nice size too. Enjoy your stay!!!!

There's a lot to love about the Contemporary. It has great views no matter where you area. I mean, sure the tower rooms are great, but if you're in the garden wings you can look out at the lake.

Easy, easy walk to MK. (While everyone else is still waiting for transportation you are already back in your room and settled).

Chef Mickeys is a fun place for kids and adults.

The Concourse Steakhouse is an excellent restaurant and rarely crowded. You can watch the monorail glide by.

Concourse level shopping is the best.

The two pool are very nice. Two hot tubs too for late night dipping.

Wonderful views of the electrical water pagent at night.

Just a quick boat ride away to Wilderness Lodge.

Just a quick monorail ride away to the Poly or GF.

Big rooms!

Good sized bathrooms!

We've stayed there twice and my husband wants to go back again! I'm not complaining!

I have never stayed there, but I would think Chef Mickey and the monorail are all you really need to think about. These two things would make it all worth it for me!! I am excited for you:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We stayed at the Contemporary 3 years ago and loved it. We stayed in the North Wing - we were luckily upgraded (why I don't know but who's complaining?) to a Jr. Suite. It was fantastic. The pool is nice. Seeing the monorail go through really brings home the magic for me. And, the California Grille is right upstairs. You can go out on the observation deck and see the MK fireworks, complete with piped in music. Walk to Magic Kingdom. Take a boat launch to Fort Wilderness where there is tons to do. Watch the electrical water pageant...just tons of fun abounds. You'll love it.

I stayed at the Contemporary for the first time last year. It was kinda my "childhood dream" to stay there!

We stayed in the Tower, on the club level, with a Magic Kingdom view. The place is awesome! I was so impressed! The rooms may be described as "wild" or "different", but I actually liked them. They are "contemporary", and actually do look pretty nice. The view was great, you could see both the castle and a lot of the park. The view of fireworks was excellent!

I have tried many of the Disney resorts, but just love the CR. Some people don't like it, feel it's dated, but I feel the magic all around me. We stayed at WL last time and everytime we even glimpsed the CR I felt pangs of envy.

Everything is in expectations though. Don't expect the world and you will be happy I think. I had HUGE expectations when we stayed at the GF a year or so back and was disappointed.

The CR has so many things going for it, especially LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! You can walk to MK, you're right on the lagoon, views are everywhere. We love to stay in the tower, but are very happy with the wing rooms also. All of the rooms are very large and bright and airy.

You will also be happy with all the money you saved with your great deal. Good luck!

You will love it there. The monorail is just steps away. It was so much fun to eat in the restaurant and watch the monorail pull in and out. The staff was extremely pleasant. An all around good experience. We stayed there last November.

We have stayed at the Contemporary several times and we love it! You can walk to MK, take the monorail to MK and Epcot. We also enjoy taking the boats for a change of pace. The arcade is great and the view from the tower is awesome especially at night if you have a MK view. We also enjoy the pools, Chef Mickey's and renting boats. Enjoy your vacation!

You roll out of bed and into Chef Mickey's in about 5 minutes. Once you are done you stroll on over to the front gates of Magic Kingdom in less than 10 minutes. Need I say more?
