Get 4th PF+ by texting

"Excuse me, lovey, but would you be a dear and make sure we have several more FP's on our account for the MK to be used as we desire? And oh, while you're at it, would you see about having Wishes pushed back about 10 minutes tomorrow evening? We won't be back to our Bung until after our 9pm cordials"

Anything you like, Thurston! ;)

What will be most interesting will be the number of people who fall into this category:

Defended FP+ because it was taking away from the super users and evening the playing field. More equal is better ! (Either because it benefitted them, the masses, made good business sense, or because they defend everything WDW)

Now defend allowing CL guests, maybe deluxe, maybe who knows, to get more because they pay more. Unequal is better ! (Even though they are only paying more for accommodation, not the parks).

I don't believe the inability to reserve additional FP's beyond three using the phone app is a technical challenge. I do believe that pointing users to a limited number of not-so-visible kiosk locations thus controlling the number of simultaneous real-time requests serves as an intended speed bump. Otherwise, even FP's for secondary attractions could possibly be fully distributed by early afternoon each day.

Ding Ding Ding

Side note as for the CL perks. Not surprised Disney is doing this (I thought it was all CL not just the GF/CR though). I enjoy RPC but mainly the only reason I stay is because it's the only option if I want to be in the main building. I don't need help with ADR's. Turn down I get being at the GF anyway, the lounge is almost never utilized by us because we do Starbucks for breakfast TS/WS for lunch and a signature every night for dinner. We are never their to really enjoy the food much. I'm pretty much paying for CL so I'm an elevator ride from the restaurants and monorail. Which I'm fine with but extra perks are always enjoyed for the price Disney commands for RPC. So being able to text the hotel and about a FP+ in Epcot while I'm leaving lunch at AK is nice.

That's interesting. I'm going with the bolded assumption above if that is the case.

So can anyone confirm, can you do this at the values? (The desk 4th FP, not the texting, I mean.) Do they even have a concierge desk? I would assume they do. However, I've don't generally use the concierge desk, so I've never paid that much attention before.

It would be really useful to do this when we go back to the hotel to change and hop parks, much better than waiting until we arrive at the new park and having to stand in a long kiosk line.

Will I need to schedule a FP+ with the resort concierge once this gets to be a popular practice? Once it's on the Dis you know there'll be an upsurge in people doing this.

Would like to know this also.

Already been mentioned, but just to clarify... instead of finding/waiting for a kiosk, I was able to text the Grand Floridian to have them set up the FP+ for me. This way, we could do it while eating lunch, while waiting in line for another ride, or even en route to the park we wanted the next FP+ in. It was certainly a time saver, and eliminated the kiosk headache many people seem to encounter. As far as I know, the texting is only offered to club level guests of the CR and GF right now.

Now, this doesn't change the fact that the 4th, 5th, etc FP+ isn't always useful or necessary, but we tended to use it as a "plan b" ... we may not need it, but it was nice to have. Also, as I mentioned, the texting was also good for general questions or other requests. I even asked if they sell funnel cakes in Hollywood Studios at one point.

Personally, I understand how some guests may bristle at these extra perks, but I do think it's just an extension of the services they've always provided. And frankly, the texting service provided a lot more value for our money spent. It certainly has me hooked on club level!
ahhh I see, that makes sense

waiting for the value answer too. *Holds a mickey hand up that says Line starts here*

To everyone asking if you can do this at other resorts and none concierge. You should be able to book your 4th fastpass in person at the desk but you won't be able to text it in. This post was about the new feature which is being able to text a club level representative to get your 4th fastpass. If you are not staying club level you can't text in your request you have to go do it in person. There should be a lobby concierge but there is usually only 1 person there at the values.

In addition to the convenience of being able to text to get another FP, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they get a better shot at e-rides that likely aren't available at the kiosks in the parks (or at concierge desks for non-CL members). With such a non-transparent system, it would be easy to do.

Yep, I agree.

Holy...something. They do realize that the bungalows are not actually in Bora Bora, right? I can't imagine paying that much to stay over what's essentially a mosquito infested pond.

LOL! Surely it's a mistake. I mean, Disney isn't out to exploit any segment of their demographics, right? Who spends a quarter mil on lodging and makes their own bed?

20,000 for a week on a mosquito infested pond with little privacy. you can see in there pretty well as you take the ferry boat over. Well, if someone is willing to pay that, more power to them.

I'm glad I never bought in to DVC and can empathize with the ones who did and are upset about this. That's a lot of points being dumped into the pool.

Yep, I agree.

I actually disagree with this. I doubt the CL staff have any additional access or are more likely get a FP+ that is otherwise unavailable. To me this is just an extension of CL staff getting ADRs. As a past CL guest, I can say that the staff has no ability (or willingness to try in my experience) to get ADRs that are not otherwise available. They are more than happy to check on availability, but there are no "set asides" for CL guests.

I don't know if they do or not, but if the system isn't transparent, which it is not, it is certainly not outside the realm of possibility.
