Get 4th PF+ by texting

I'm sort of confused too. So you can't book a fourth fastpass from your phone if you're not in one of the parks? We went last summer and definitely utilized the new fp system in just about every way. But maybe I just didn't notice we were always in a park when we booked more after our third one was used.

You can not book a 4th fp+ from your phone and that has never been an option. You can adjust times and switch rides from your phone. If you want to schedule a 4th fp+ you need to go to one of the kiosk in the park.

This has been a "test" at GF and CR for awhile, not sure if/when they are expanding it, but I love it!! You can text all sorts of requests/questions, including FP+ requests, and they will text you the answer, or let you know what rides are available. Personally I try to keep my requests general, which reduces the back and forth. For example, I would say "I'm looking for a FP+ near Fantasyland. Is Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, or Little Mermaid available?" And they would text back something like "Peter Pan at 6 or Haunted Mansion at 5:30?" I would choose Haunted Mansion, and then they would put it on our magicbands.

It also comes in handy for other questions, like confirming park hours, ADR times, etc.

Now *that* is concierge level service!! I'm not usually a proponent of onsite perks over offsite, but I think this is a perfect example and use of onsite.

I suppose with the kiosks they have a more rate-limited client-server environment. WDW would make a fascinating lab environment for networking and client-server app development. Maybe they haven't perfected the scaling requirements to allow unlimited wireless access to the FP+ reservation system.

I don't believe the inability to reserve additional FP's beyond three using the phone app is a technical challenge. I do believe that pointing users to a limited number of not-so-visible kiosk locations thus controlling the number of simultaneous real-time requests serves as an intended speed bump. Otherwise, even FP's for secondary attractions could possibly be fully distributed by early afternoon each day.

OR have your resort concierge do it for you, as mentioned above. We did this last month, and it did work out well, and was much more convenient than the long kiosk lines in the parks.

I agree. I think this is an intended speed bump.

There's no reason you need to be in the park to schedule a 4th FP, they could easily program the app to let you schedule a 4th once you complete 3 from wherever you are.

Even allowing a concierge to do it for you is helpful for sure, but still acts as a speed bump of sorts.

I'm confused...can anyone staying onsite do this now from their hotel, or just club-level customers?

Did you do this by phone with the concierge or were you at the hotel? For those that don't take mid day breaks, having to be at the hotel to do this would take longer than waiting in kiosk lines.

We were already at the hotel, which is why it was convenient for us.

CL has always had added benefits for I site guests vs normal onsite guests. This is just an added thing. Concierge has always done the extra gets for CL guests.

This. You pay more, you get more...that's how the world works. And this is coming from someone who never has and probably never will stay Concierge. It doesn't bother me one bit they get perks because they paid for it.

As I mention previously we did that on our nov trip in person. I don't know if they will allow to go it by phone, unless you are concierge level. You can call from the room phone and do it though.

Only club level can text to get a 4th fp+. Everyone staying on site can go to the concierge and ask the concierge to schedule a 4th fp.

Yes as I mention earlier in the thread we did that on our last trip too, but the poster was referring to scheduling stuff while in the parks.

will this work in a value resort? If i went to the resort for mid day brake?

How is this beneficial for fp+?
Seems to me by the time you go back and forth in that exchange you could look it up yourself and book it:confused3

Already been mentioned, but just to clarify... instead of finding/waiting for a kiosk, I was able to text the Grand Floridian to have them set up the FP+ for me. This way, we could do it while eating lunch, while waiting in line for another ride, or even en route to the park we wanted the next FP+ in. It was certainly a time saver, and eliminated the kiosk headache many people seem to encounter. As far as I know, the texting is only offered to club level guests of the CR and GF right now.

Now, this doesn't change the fact that the 4th, 5th, etc FP+ isn't always useful or necessary, but we tended to use it as a "plan b" ... we may not need it, but it was nice to have. Also, as I mentioned, the texting was also good for general questions or other requests. I even asked if they sell funnel cakes in Hollywood Studios at one point.

Personally, I understand how some guests may bristle at these extra perks, but I do think it's just an extension of the services they've always provided. And frankly, the texting service provided a lot more value for our money spent. It certainly has me hooked on club level!

I don't think anyone questions that. But the question is whether paying more at your HOTEL should get you more in the PARKS when you have theoretically not paid anything more to enter.

A question that will be asked, no doubt, by those guests shelling out over $2,500 a night at the new Poly Bungalows!

"Excuse me, lovey, but would you be a dear and make sure we have several more FP's on our account for the MK to be used as we desire? And oh, while you're at it, would you see about having Wishes pushed back about 10 minutes tomorrow evening? We won't be back to our Bung until after our 9pm cordials"

Yep, it's the first move towards differentiating between different WDW Resort customers in the parks.

We've all gotten used to the onsite/offsite differences with FP+, but now it seems they are ok with going further in terms differentiating the park experience based on which WDW Resort level you are in.

Should be interesting...
