Geriatric MM Warriors!

Kate: What a funny story about the ducks! We had two labs, so I can relate, but they never got away from us like that. We have ponds behind our house and in the spring some of the ducks get the idea they want to live in our pool. It’s cute the first time, and then you realize they poop every time they land. It’s Bonnie’s job to “Get ‘em” out of the pool. If she hears ducks quack on TV she starts looking all over. That dog knows the difference between ducks and geese!

Cindy: You and I got really scared about Lobster stealing our shoes, huh??

Beverly: Thanks for the good thoughts. I do have AAA and I refused to call them because it was going to be past my 5 hours to eat dinner, LOL! Thankfully, there is a service station in the same parking lot as my office. We are really conveniently located, thank goodness, but it was late and dark out.

Cindy: I love my lasik eyes! I had them done for near sightedness years ago and then changed to monovision when I got older. One eye reads and one does distance. It’s like bifocals without the glasses. I love it!!! My poor son had braces into his Senior year, but his teeth are beautiful and he’s never had a cavity. At least we could pay the ortho in installments – which seemed to last forever!

Beverly: When John-Paul was two we were in Disneyland eating at that Italian bistro by a main walkway when along came Chip and Dale. J-P ran from his seat before we could stop him with his Dad trying to follow closely behind, all the while yelling, “Chip and Dale I love you. I love you Chip and Daaaaillll.” He reached them and buried his face in the knees of one of them. An older gentleman told us that was worth the price of his admission.

Tutu: Sorry I had to resort to drastic measures to roust you out!:drinking1

Good morning everyone!

I'm up and painting my foyer, stairwell, upstair hallway and their ceilings. It's not too bad but crown molding is a !!pain!! I'm taking a break before I totally chuck the entire idea. :headache:

I too, love all your pet stories. We had a golden for years before she disappeared on me. I miss her terribly to this day. I refuse to get another, I got way too attached to her, she was my perfect little buddy.

Nell, I sent my address and phone numbers to you via pm. I forgot all about it until this morning, sorry!

Barbie,.. I mean Robin, I get so excited for you when you talk about Ken. It's wonderful to be in love and to know that feeling. I've been with hubby for almost 32 years and I feel so lucky to have it and know it for this long. Too many people go a lifetime and not know what the real deal is. Revel in it and know that we never tire of hearing about you two! Um, make sure you keep that address list and add it to your wedding invitation list! :teeth:

My case of the hungrys seems to have left me for now, or maybe it's because I'm too busy to notice.

 Hi Carol and Sharron!! I noticed in the last couple of days that this site is really starting to feel good, like it used to be over on LCF's. LOVE THAT!!

Okay enough of this for now.:hyper2: I need to get back to work.

You all have a pleasant morning, I'll come visit during lunch! :wave2:

Pam: We have a lot in common - I love to paint! I've painted my whole interior including 21 ft. walls in the entry on scaffolding and all the way up the stairwell on a Gorilla ladder. This is a big deal because I am afraid of heights! Crown molding is killer on your neck, but it's so pretty. Hope you don't get too tired!

Could you send her to us. We have an unfreakinbelievable number of geese here at the Yacht Club, and the goose Poop is so nasty. We had a dog trained to chase them, but unfortunately he wasn't the brightest bulb in the box and when distracted by a squirrel, darted across our entrance road and was hit by a car. He is now in doggy heaven. :littleangel: The maintenance supervisor had gotten way too attached to this dog, so we haven't been able to replace it yet. We are now working with green laster pointers. This is supposed to work.

Too funny. If you had crackers in your car, you wouldn't have gone over. (Look who's talking after yesterday!)

I would love to have the lasik, but can't justify the cost right now. My DS is done with his braces (he only took about 20 months and we did make monthly payments at no interest), and we take DD10 in every 6 months to get checked by the Orthodontist. So far, so good.

This is the exact reason we so love Disney. When DD was 1 year old, we were at WDW for her birthday. It was January and really cold and she was all bundled up in her snowsuit and blankets in her stroller. The Fairy Godmother came up to here and gave her a kiss on her forehead during the parade. It is the cutest pic of her with this lipstick kiss on her forehead, all surrounded by her yellow fuzzy hood. Of course the Tomboy she is now, she prefers to think she fell down and got a scrape.:lmao:

Ok I need to keep my chores list straight.

Kathy - cleaning the entire house

Pam and Lisa - painting

anyone else have any undisclosed talents I can use?

Beverly: We can’t send you Bonnie because her Daddy would be in a deep funk. He has never loved a dog like this. She is endearing that’s for sure. Really smart and likes to have a job because she’s a herding dog, so the ducks and Frisbee are taken very seriously by Miss B. I have trained her to ‘show me your feet’ when she comes across the threshold. She lies down and holds them all in the air so I can wipe them off before she gets a treat. Gotta love it.

Oh, I had my crackers – that was at 3 pm and I worked until 7:30 so I needed dinner by 8 and I was mean about it by then, lol!:rotfl:

What a sweet story about your little one and the kiss! I love those kinds of pictures. I got a Chip and Dale pic, too!

Beverley, Natalie, Daniele, and everyone else, Thanks for your welcome.

Natalie, hope your mom is doing better and that they can find out what is causing her BP to be so elevated.

I have read about a Christmas list being put together. Can I join?

Kate, Yes we are close. Probably only about 41/2 hours apart. Robin's pony could stop here on the way and pick up Lobster so they could share the same taxi to your house. Your golden sounds like a wonderful dog, too. It is so frustrating when they totally ignore you and leave you standing there feeling helpless. And embarrassed. You asked about what I eat at night. I have an 11-20 at about 9:30 before I go to bed. The past few nights it's been an ice cream bar that's 10 gr and a swallow of milk. I put some milk in an insulated coffee cup to drink when I wake up at night. Okay? I'm just wide awake for awhile most nights like I used to be before starting this plan.

Beverley, Love the story of your precious cat! He sounds like a real sweetheart. I'm glad you made it easier for him by buying him baby socks that he can carry better. I remember you were the one that missed swimming and encouraged me to find a way to make that happen. Well, I tried out the pool with the salt water and it seems okay..no itching yet. I will have exercised 3 times this week! Not up to where Diane wants us, but aiming for that. And Yes, ZumbaLaura, I'm drinking my water.

Lisa, Glad you made it home alright. Tire shopping isn't much fun, but at least you won't have anymore worries in that department.

Cindy, I live on the West Coast between Santa Barbara and San Francisco. I think I remember that you are on the East Coast....you are safe from a visit from Lobster.

Robin, I would be interested in that soup recipe, too. Hope you have a more relaxing day tracking down all those deadbeat insurance payers.

If I forgot to respond to anyone, sorry. I am technically challenged. It has taken me 30 mins just to post this.

Have a wonderful MM day!
Carol

Step 2

Bev - Chip and Dale sound so cute! I am trying to make pets out of the wild turkeys in my yard, but so far even feeding them doesnt make them any warmer or fuzzier! LOL Did you give some thought to starting a new thread for us on Sunday? I think we need it! We will be to 1500 posts in no time!!

Kate - I will definitely share the Wedding Soup recipe, its so easy its "criminal" LOL, but yummy, and with the spinach or escarole its a good way to get in those dark greens too without actually having to taste them!:rotfl:

Off to my meeting, then to work...hopefully a little slower so I can post more often through the day, but Friday is notoriously busy...I guess people get paid and decide its time to stop being one of the million "uninsured motorists" on the road!!:scared1:

Have A Great Day Ladies! And Tom if you're out there reading!

Hi Robin - I would LOVE your Wedding Soup recipe!

Carol, that was me that was sooo wishing to be able to do my water aerobics again. I'm glad you were able to find a pool that's working for you. I'm looking at the possibility of getting laid off after the first of the year. Not good news but in the back of my mind I'm thinking yea! I can go back to my morning water aerobics four days a week. I'll be broke but happy

Jocelyn - Thanks for the tip about drinking 1/2 Atkins shake for bedtime snack. If it helps reduce the a.m. hunger it's worth a try. It also reminded me of something I've read more than once. Protein is a good bedtime snack for everyone because overnight is when our bodies re-build muscle and cells. Atkins shakes have protein and other added vitamins that would be beneficial to that process :thumbsup2

Carol: Is there caffeine in that chocolate bar? Could that help to keep awake a sleep-challenged person such as yourself? You might try a calcium tablet before bed. It's a natural sedative. The milk seems like the perfect choice for you. I'm a big fan of Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime tea. It has valerian, which is a natural sleep aid. Taking valerian capsules works great, too, but it upsets my stomach and the tea doesn't. Can you tell I've had sleep issues in the past, too??

Laura, I missed your reply. So we'll be flying together! But not like you fly around for dinner! :lmao:

Trying to start flying again my schedule is so crazy it's hard. It's going to take a while just need to take baby steps. :thumbsup2

What's everyone up to this weekend? We know Laura's face painting. Rainy and dark up here so I'll be staying indoors. Thought I'd get out the crockpot and try Robin's chicken and cheese casserole stuff. I have to start doing my holiday cleaning early so I'll probably get that going too. My daughter is coming out from North Carolina the week of 11/2, I'm so excited to see her again after a whole year  We have the same strange sense of humor so I know we'll be laughing a lot. Can't wait.

But are you drinking your water at least? We were very bad yesterday and about to go on a water strike until you magically appeared. We even rubbed a genie lamp and wished for you!:grouphug:

I'm a genie in a bottle baby come on and rub me out!!!:genie:
