Geriatric MM Warriors!

Well, I'm going to start heading towards bed. I need to make a protein smoothie for my empty belly. If I don't sign back on, good night everyone! :grouphug:

Today I discovered that I can print coupons from online. I'm very excited. I never clip them because I'll find maybe one a week for stuff I actually buy. I even found a $1 off Truvia coupon from Coupons.com. Very cool!

Just a heads up Nell, some places will give you a hard time with printable coupons. Stick to your guns if they do. You really need to check out that website I posted.
Ask friends and family to save sunday and any mail coupons as well. I have 2 3" binders I have mine in. Also, proctor and gamble put out a monthly coupon flyer in the paper.
Good going on the truvia coupon. Keep an eye out for it to go on sale and make a killing with it.
The website I posted has all the store sales at least a week in advance so you know what is coming on sale and what you have coupons for. There is also an area on there where you can trade coupons, request certain ones, it's an awesome sight.
They list all kinds of stores also. Grocery (from walmart to giant eagle to bi-lo) to drug stores (cvs, rite aid and others) to hardware stores (lowes, home depot) to staples. It goes on and on.

Hi SharronLee! sorry I missed you before you went to bed!!

Hi Nell - I just got the address list...tried to add mine and reply to all, but dont know if it worked or not!! Please let me know!

EVERYBODY SEND NELL YOUR MAILING ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER IF YOU WANT TO BE ON THE CHRISTMAS CARD LIST!!!!:santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa:

So where do I find all these great coupons?

Robin, I told Nell a way back, this is an awesome coupon forum. They teach you how to use coupons. I have gotten free shampoo, razors, make up, all kinds of stuff.
When you have time I strongly suggest you guys check it out. It has saved me a lot of money.

Good morning everyone!! I hope you are all doing well this morning. Not much going on here yet. Not the best night sleep, but it will do. I'll take a nap later if I need to.
Carol, so glad to see you here!! Make sure you check out all the smilies!!

I was on a major binge yesterday. It wasn't for carbs though. It was for fats and sweets. Not even sugar. I ate all my left over whipped cream, drank some vanilla milk (milk with vanilla syrup and stevia). It was almost like I was a possessed woman!! Feeling good now though. Not wanting anything sweet or fatty. The whipped cream was like I just craved the creaminess of it. I did savor it though.
Well, have to take Carrie to school now.
Natalie, saying some prayers for your mom and your family. Wish I could do more for you than that. Here is some hugs for you :grouphug::hug:

Got my emails. Thanks guys. Do I need to respond to them or anything? Just wanting to make sure I don't mess up somehow LOL

Whew, just had a close shoe encounter. Went to get my glasses from the car and Lobster decided that rated another greeting. So he went to my closet and pilfered my right tennis shoe and tried to scoot past me on my way back in. Kate, what's your address? Could I fasten it on his collar and put him on the bus and give him taxi fare? He would train you well and keep you on your toes (because you wouldn't have any shoes) LOL.

Lisa, I have tried that trick, too. As he has scooted his butt past me I desperately yell "cookies", "home", "go for a ride" to no avail. He is man on a mission.

On a completely different note, I am going to try to make a sweet potato pie/custard with pumpkin seasonings sometime before thanksgiving.I'll let you know how it turns out. Robin, I also give 1 BIG thumbs down to the eggplant pie idea. Too slimey!

Now, I really need to get ready for bed as I haven't been sleeping well. I keep waking up at 2 am and being awake for an hour or two. Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks for letting me ramble. You can tell I missed you all. Aren't you lucky?
You might wish you had politely declined my request to come over here.

Carol
PS Momtozac-hope your mom is okay

Carol - your post was the first one I read this morning. It made me smile. What a great way to start my day! You and Lisa with your stories of trying to trick your dogs reminded me of an experience I had with my dog. She is a golden retriever and loves the water. Any kind of water. When she was about nine months old I took her for a walk near the Civic Center in our town. There is a beautiful pond filled with ducks and geese. Well, she tugged her head out of her collar and ran straight into the pond. I must have spent at least 45 minutes trying to catch her. I tried being sweet, I tried being mean, I started the car and pretended to drive away. I cried. I was so frustrated and she was in seventh-heaven swimming and chasing ducks! I was in my work clothes which didn't make my running around the sides of the pond any easier. I thought I would never get her back in the car. I never pass that pond without thinking about that day..... I am sure she thinks about it too when we drive buy - she looks very happy when she sees that pond and I always have to tell her that we are not even slowing down so don't think about a swim with the ducks!

Hi Fish! Glad you made it here and we are so happy you found us!! Im still laughing about Lobster and the Great Shoe Caper!! I want to send one of my miniature ponies to Kate too...little rascal is only 28 inches tall and totally IMPOSSIBLE to keep him in a fence! He goes under, through, I swear he manages to get down on his fat belly and scoot under anything I put up! So I end up tying him to a huge truck tire and just let him drag it around...he can move it just a bit, so he has the run of about a 30 foot circle until i decide to move it for him!!

Kate - You ready? Meet one dog and one pony at the bus station...you will know them by their Crocs, wigs, kilts, water bottles, etc etc etc!!:lmao:

BTW - Ken does not know about my crockpot princess title...he is looking forward to me cooking Italian for him soon!

Robin - too cute! What is the pony's name? I would love to have Lobster and the pony come for a visit. I think we need a picture of him tied to his truck tire!

I am still waiting for DH to cook some Italian (he is Italian) for me. His mom is a wonderful cook and always sends food home with us when we visit.

Now, I really need to get ready for bed as I haven't been sleeping well. I keep waking up at 2 am and being awake for an hour or two. Anyone else having this problem?

Carol - I read Barb's comment about her 1/2 Atkins shake before bed and remembered that I wanted to ask you if you are eating something before bed and when you are waking up in the middle of the night? Sleeping well is so important and one of the many benefits of this WOE.

So nice to see you Carol. I loved your story about the shoes. I think we will keep Lobster far, far away from my shoe closet. Where do you live again? Hope you are having a nice day!

This is me, this morning...I love the smilies.:surfweb:

Good Morning! Not much sleep for me last night...but its ALL GOOD! He is heading for London today for meetings then hopefully back home end of next week. Then had to get up early this morning due to meeting at 11:30 before work....YAWN:faint:

Nell - you are so sweet to worry about me, but I am FINE!! I assure you I was not distracted yesterday, at least not more than usual! LOL, just way busier at work than the usual Thursday, plus trying to check in and read here, and attempting to track down errant insurance customers who need to pay their bills by saturday or get cancelled! Funny but agents are responsible for keeping new policies "on the books" for the first 60 days, and we only take one month down payment to get the policy started, so if they have not made their second payment the following month it is up to US to find them and get that payment or the policy cancels...Seems to me we should just get 2 months payment in advance and eliminate all the chasing people around, but NO, company doesnt see it that way! Of course MOST folks just pay their bill on time, but theres always about 4-5 you have to chase...and of course if they just forgot, they are easy enough to find and take payment, but if they are (pardon my french) JERKS who dont intend to EVER make that next payment, then good freakin luck finding them! You will get voice mails, kids answering the phone (who never leave messages) or the number will be disconnected!! So, to make a long story long, LOL, I was in customer chase mode all day yesterday!!! Love you Sister! Sorry if I worried you!

Kathy - cant wait to check out that coupon site, although we dont use much of the type of foods that there are coupons for, namely fresh stuff...but there is always the paper products, shampoos, etc so Im definitely IN! Too funny about the dog and the ducks...I had a " water puppy" once, and it was a full time job trying to keep him out of the darn pool! If you didnt watch him like a hawk, he would dive right in and just swim and swim...would NOT come out until you got in and grabbed him and pulled him out! He just loved paddling around...maybe he though he was part duck!!:donald:

I got a bunch of e-mails with names for the address list, but didnt see mine on any of them...I thought I had added it last night? Well, Nell, if you have mine can you add it to the total list somehow please? I dont even know if I did it right, but I thought you said you had gotten it!

Hi All--you guys are so chatty today!

got through quickly reading all the posts to catch up.

exhausted today--my mom was admitted into the hospital--her blood pressure was 217/105 when she went to the doctor. they're going to be doing tests on her. I so wish she lived closer--would be so much easier.

Hugs to you all:grouphug:

ps--Hi Carol!

Natalie - so sorry to hear about your mom. We'll add her to our prayers.

Hey Beverly. Step2 is a whole different animal. You might try setting an alarm on your cell phone and not worry about trying to have your 11-20 exactly at meal time for awhile. Keep crackers or bars with you and if you eat one before a meal for timing purposes, don't have an 11-20 with the meal. As busy as you are, meal times can be a challenge anyway.

I think you're right about the alarm on my cell phone. The funny thing is I have a box of crackers in my car, one in my DH's car, one in my desk at work. What is so weird is I was at home and with a ton of choices. UGH! I will do better today. I'll have to do better because I am assuming this would count as one slip up. Better not have any more during the next 6 days. I, for one, don't want to go back to Step 1. It seemed easier, but I seem to be losing more on Step 2 than Step 1 (could be the exercise huh?).

Hi Kate - I have a bunch of old Italian recipes from my grandma, so Ken is in for plenty of good old fashioned Italian food, too bad I cant eat any of it! LOL, I am planning a big batch of Italian Wedding Soup this weekend though, I CAN eat THAT! yummmmmm, good for the cooler weather!
The mini's name is Princie, although in his mind his name is "King S#@T" !! He is currently living in Massachusetts with a girlfriend of mine, acting as "companion animal" to her elderly retired horse. She keeps entertained chasing the little buggar around, but apparently he has taken his new job seriously and does not stray far from his "charge". I know I have some pictures of him around here though, so I will look for some to post!

I literally laughed out loud! King S#@T!!! Those little guys love to strut their stuff don't they! Pretty funny! Hmmmm.... I thinking that you need to share your Italian Wedding Soup recipe? Sounds delish! Is Ken still in China?

So, here is another post on LCF from someone with 1 post to Aggie:

You are doing a great job at getting the new board going. I think part of the problem is that some of the most active posters on LCF have left us. I think that the less threads we have the better.

It just makes me wonder how many lurkers there were? This person seems to know enough to recognize that we left......

I posted on LCF that Diane didn't have anything to do with why people left LCF. I was tactful and didn't point out WHO did have something to do with it. :goodvibes

Welcome Carol and Sharron.

Lisa - sorry to hear about your car trouble. This is the main reason we keep AAA. They are God-send for towing, etc.

Robin - Glad to hear Ken is safe and sound and on his way to London.

You are all too funny with your "pet" stories. We don't have any house pets, except the chipmunks that live under my deck whom I have nicknamed Chip and Dale. They are too cut watch bouncing around my yard, but since I don't have to feed them, or clean up after them, anything would be cute.

Luckily DD10 didn't need glasses yesterday. She was actually a little bummed because during the fashion show she found a pair of orange nike glasses (her favorite color). I explained not needing glasses was a good thing for her and for my checkbook. The two exam co-pays, the retinal photography and my new glasses cost nearly $500, so that was more than enough.

I'm going to get some work done, but I'll catch up later.

Isn't it awful how expensive eye visits are. We're in the same boat but with orthodontics. My 17 year old is out of braces, but I have two that need them and it's $3,500 a pop!!!

I'd like to have lasik done on my eyes. I'm so tired of wearing contact lenses. I'm sure that is a big set back too!

Hope you are having a nice day!

Bev - Chip and Dale sound so cute! I am trying to make pets out of the wild turkeys in my yard, but so far even feeding them doesnt make them any warmer or fuzzier! LOL Did you give some thought to starting a new thread for us on Sunday? I think we need it! We will be to 1500 posts in no time!!

Kate - I will definitely share the Wedding Soup recipe, its so easy its "criminal" LOL, but yummy, and with the spinach or escarole its a good way to get in those dark greens too without actually having to taste them!:rotfl:

Off to my meeting, then to work...hopefully a little slower so I can post more often through the day, but Friday is notoriously busy...I guess people get paid and decide its time to stop being one of the million "uninsured motorists" on the road!!:scared1:

Have A Great Day Ladies! And Tom if you're out there reading!

I think I'm going to say I didn't drink any water today (not) just to see if Tutu is out there watching over us.pixiedust:

Lisa,

Shame on you!!! Not drinking your water :scared1:

I have been so busy I can't even see straight. I usually teach 4 classes total a week and so far I have taught 6 for the week and I have 1 more tonight giving me a total of 7. Then Saturday I am facepainting and Sunday I am facepainting at the Dolphin game. I AM SO TIRED!!!

Trying to catch up on the post but Man you guys have been busy this week are you trying to break 100?

OMG - I shine my sink every day after my DD washes dishes. It makes me happy if you believe that one. Sick!

Hi Cindy!! Missed you glad you found us!!!!

It would make me happy if I was home long enough to see it shine. :wizard:
