Geriatric MM Warriors!

I get swollen lymph nodes for no apparent reason all the time, under my armpits, sometimes my neck etc. I thought that happened to everyone, doesn't it? I'm always aching, lol. I am thinking about trying the ribose, I just need to do some more searching to see how it interacts hormonally. I don't want to spend the money and not be able to use it.

Lisa, I'm really sorry your feeling poorly. I hope that you get your supplement and improve quickly!

Nell, I am not sure about the others, but I have never had issues with random swelling of lymph nodes. However, I do not suffer from any other underlying issues other than Met B.

Well, I'm sure it's on it's way to healing! Thank god you found MM before ending up with too many health problems. Thank you for not minding us problem solving the endocrine stuff. I don't have any funky diseases by the way, they checked for everything, lol. The only thing I had was antibodies for the virus that causes mononucleosis. I am so much better now than I used to be. It was really frightening when I was sick with no explanation. A few years ago was the worst. I had trouble getting out of bed. My temperature in the morning was as low as 96.4 and then in the evening it would be 99.2. I had vertigo for weeks at a time. I would have people watch my temperature results using two thermometers and then take them with me to the endocrinologist because he told me I must be mistaken. That if my temperature was doing that for over a year I'd be dead. Hello! Not dead here! :lmao: I can laugh about it now, but at the time my head was going to pop off. And the great thing is that it started me on this path of learning everything I could about natural health so I could be the smart alack that I am today!!! :rotfl:

Ok, life has gotten so stressful I am now dealing with it by being slaphappy. A very good way to deal in my opinion. I hope everyone is having a great day. I will check with you all in a little while. :grouphug:

There are 8 grams fat per serving so that's only 20 gr for the whole can. :thumbsup2 I'm thinking adding some green and red peppers and mushrooms to punch up the veggies and volume of the serving.

I don't see green chilies on the arrow chart for step1. Have we ever decided these are ok? That would be good added to this too.

They better be! I've been using them from the beginning. I think all peppers and chilis are ok?? They do rev up the metabolism.

Dare I say to the Step 2-er's that this would be fantastic over the 1/2 cup brown rice?

Good Morning Everyone – I’ll try to get through the posts today!!

Had a great night’s sleep last night. Even if I don’t lose any weight on this WOE, the sleep is worth it!!

Kathy – do you guys run with the dog, too? Should be fun…..

Yes, Kate the back is better this AM. Thanks for asking. I HATE to be slowed down and am having a hard time with it. The surgery option to “try” to fix it is not one I want to risk and all my regular doctors think it is too risky, too.

Pony – I have been having a half of an Atkins shake before bed and no dreams….Must be something else going on
I saw a 3 crockpot combo at Costco the other day all together. I laughing said it might be fun to have and then we could have a real variety. It would take some storage room, though

Bev – enjoy your day with the Explorers. That is such a great age.

Lisa – sorry your fibro is bothering you so much. My mother had something they called polymalgia – I don’t know if it is the same or not, but they had her on prednisone for a long time. Not good stuff at all!

Laura – your mousse sounds yummy. We used to make a gelatin based pumpkin pie – very light. I will have to try to find the recipe for that. Can you add this recipe to the recipe thread so it doesn’t’ t get lost?

Lisa - I found some Walden Farms products at the Raley’s in Jackson. Do you have one in your area? The syrup was one of the things they carried. The WF's site also has a store locator by zip code.
We attended a bridge tournament in Orangevale last year so were near you then. We stayed in Folsom.

Laura – Diane actually stated in her reply to Pony that pumpkin was really not legal until step 3 …..but if it fit the 5x5 rule it could be added as a treat. This is where we get a bit confused. I tried to look up the glycemic index of pumpkin and not sure I understood the numbers. It is on the not allowed list on the arrow chart. This goes along with her blueberry muffin recipe where fruit is not supposed to be used. I do know that blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, etc are the only fruits to be added back in on Atkins due to the high fiber count. No, we don’t want to look like pumpkins!!

(I am typing this on a word doc as I go along – sorry for the repeats)

Barb – I think green chilies are the same as peppers. I use them all the time to perk things up.

OK I am caught up on this morning posts. :thumbsup2 :surfweb:
I skimmed through yesterday’s. I also tried to skim the new website for the other people and I gave up. What a joke as far as organization goes. They would have been better off staying with LCF. At least there you can read all the posts, even if they had 2 different threads for the steps.

Nell - I'm so sorry to hear about Marti's problems. I hope evrything works out well for you. Keep us updated about the schooling, too. You will make an awsome nurse.

I think I am going to put some chicken breasts, chilies and my taco seasoning in the crock pot and see how that comes out for taco salads. I'll let you know. I made a pot full of black soy beans yesterday so will be able to freeze several batches of them.

I hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to the gym and then a nice swim.

Nell, I don't think it happens to everybody and it never happened to me until 10 years ago. I had gone to KY knowing I would be seeing my grandfather for the last time. Maybe the stess triggered it, but I've seen read it's a fibro indicator. Leave it to me to have all the weird stuff.

Does your Dad use aspartame? I found a website by a neurologist with a lot of information about how it causes MS like symptoms. People have been in wheelchairs and cured when they give it up. Even if it isn't the direct cause, it would be very prudent to stay away from it.

No, he's a sugar man. :) Well, he was until just recently when they found his sugar high and he uses Splenda now. It wouldn't help if he did use aspartame because he is the most stubborn person you've ever seen and can tell him nothing. But thankfully he doesn't use it. It's a very rare disease and a bit of a fluke that he got it. He lives on cortisone and a medication that suppresses his immune system, which is also dangerous because he ends up with pneumonia on a regular basis.

Hi Natalie. It just means that I plan a meat to have each day of the following week. Like Mon-pot roast Tue-steak Wedn-salmon etc. Then I make a list by catagory of things I need like Meat- pot roast, steak, salmon. Veggies-salad stuff, eggplant, asparagus. Dairy-cream cheese, eggs, 1/2&1/2. Other-cat food, paper towels...It makes it easy to sail through the store and have everything I need for the house and for putting together meals for the week. :)

great way to do it--I'm going to have to try it differently from now on, get my butt organized like that

Nell - I think it is just so insulting when doctors don't believe what you tell them. Helllooooo! Why would we make this **** up?

Hee hee. I just had to put in a "cuss" word and see what it would do.... I crack myself up....

I have a master list in the computer and I print it out and circle what we need on it. We also keep a running list in the kitchen and when you use the last of something or notice it is low, you are supposed to write it on the list. Works really well! It's scary how many Type A's there are on here!

could you send me the shopping list you use? I think if I didn't have brain fog I'd be a type A too!! I really do like organization, but I just can't see to do it now!!:rotfl:

I think we shop the same Natalie. I was watching and listening others and realized they actually planned their meals before they planned their shopping list, lol. I am totally right brained so these type of things escape me. :lmao:

Now Pony would be an example of a left brained personality. Very organized. Most people fall somewhere in the middle.

I totally agree--I think I'm in the middle somewhere. I need to do brain exercises to get my left brain working harder:faint:

My computer one is my Whole Foods list so it wouldn't be comprehensive enough I don't think.

I finally made it! :cheer2:

Thanks Lisa, for showing me the way. So good to see familiar faces, really missed all of you. Hope everyone is doing OK.

Got alot of reading to do to catch up with everyone, just wanted to pop in and say Hello. I have to work on my profile & stuff in the morning when my mind is fresh.

Thanks Beverly, this looks like a fun place to be with good friends! :grouphug:

Have a good night.

Sweet dreams.........
HI Sharron!! Welcome:dance3: feel free to partake in all the crazy smilies!!:cheer2:

Well, I just caught up from this morning. I can't believe that I was too busy to check in again all day. I guess that I can't complain about being busy at work.... That is what I keep telling myself anyway. I do miss all of you.

I feel strongly about keeping this a safe place and am glad everyone feels that way too.

Nell - I am sorry about Marti and your stress at home. I think gardening will not only help with your budget, it helps with the soul. I love gardening. Well, what I love the most is being in my garden.

Robin ate seaweed? Someone alert the newspapers! I love that Ken sent you such a cute email. I think you can have two songs at your wedding. And maybe some sushi?

Nell - by the way. I shop like you do.

SharonLee - glad you found your favorite MM's! You will love it over here. Lots of love and lots of fun. Lots of smilies too!

Lisa and Nell - my two medical researchers - have you read anything about autoimmune issues? I have Graves Disease (hyperthyroid) which is autoimmune.

Hi, Barb, Gena, Pam, Beverly, Kathy, Natalie! Hope I didn't miss anyone!

Hi Kate--being busy is a good thing as well as a bad thing--make sure you're making time for yourself:hug:

Why wouldn't an exceptional person have exceptional physical symptoms? I've got to tell you that it's wonderful being able to talk about this stuff with someone that doesn't assume your a hypochondriac. I've done a lot of things on my own that has helped me slowly improve, but it's so good to have other ideas and know what works for you.

Kate, don't try too many cuss words. You might have to start putting quarters in a jar for each one! :rotfl:

Morning Kate!! I guess everybody went to bed early last night! Figured I would be catching it this morning for abandoning the chat to talk to Ken in China again last night!!

OMG, he was actually out on an oil drilling rig in the East China Sea yesterday...arent those things like totally dangerous? Then I had this incredibly BIZARRE dream last night where I found out that he worked at a Car Dealership in Detroit!! What the hell is with that!!??? I gotta lay off the Atkins shakes before bed!!:lmao:

well, I hear Detroit is totally dangerous so maybe you just mixed those places up??:rotfl: is he a salesman? maybe he just bought a new car? maybe you just bought a new car? maybe you're thinking of buying a new car and you want Ken to go with you to check it out...........hmmmmm;)
