Geriatric MM Warriors!

Pork loin was on sale this week, so I had one in the crockpot all last night with some onions and a teeny bit of beef broth...house smelled so good this morning! Cooked up some asparagus, and had my melt in your mouth tender pork with the asparagus and some mashed cauliflower...YUM

Your food sounds so yummy! I have a crockpot and I have to use it more! I guess I should sit down and actually make a plan before I go to the store.

I just finished watching Biggest Loser. I just can't feel warm and fuzzy about Gillian...

I finally made it! :cheer2:

Thanks Lisa, for showing me the way. So good to see familiar faces, really missed all of you. Hope everyone is doing OK.

Got alot of reading to do to catch up with everyone, just wanted to pop in and say Hello. I have to work on my profile & stuff in the morning when my mind is fresh.

Thanks Beverly, this looks like a fun place to be with good friends! :grouphug:

Have a good night.

Sweet dreams.........

SharronLee

You're welcome and glad to see you.

Welcome SharonLee!!

I also just finished watching The Biggest Loser. All I keep thinking is why can't we tell them how to really eat, but of course, the scale wouldn't move and they wouldn't have a program. I would never buy any of the things Jillian is promoting.

I just read the last few posts - will try to get on more tomorrow. We were out all day and then I had a nap before dinner!! The back did not like what I did today - oh well. At least we won at bridge in our direction!

Take care everyone. So glad we have this place and all of you.

Good morning dearies!! I hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

SharronLee, so happy you made your way back home. Welcome!! As everyone else has said, you'll love it here. It's just so nice to sit back and talk to everyone, whether it's our WOE, problems, or just plain chit chat.

Feeling a bit tired today. Not sure if I overdid it yesterday or not. I would love to curl up on the bed and just go to sleep. Oh well. At least it will be a beautiful day today. Sunny and about 70*. Indian summer.

I won't be on until later toward evening. Tyson has a "play date" with his buddy Sage (the doberman), so they will probably play for a couple hours. Sage likes to run away, so we had to find somewhere somewhat close that is gated in. The high school where I grew up is now closed, so we are going there for them to run and play in the soccer field. It is pretty much the size of a football field, so Sage can run and run and his mommy won't have to worry about him.

Have a wonderful day everyone! Catch up later. If I missed anything important to comment on, sorry. I'll reread this evening when I have a bit more time.

Love ya all!!:hug::lovestruc

Now I feel like I am in the twilight zone. There have been only two posts since I went to bed last night? I guess shouldn't complain - it certainly wasn't hard catching up!

Jocelyn - I hope your back is feeling better by the time you read this.

Good Morning Kathy! Seems we are the only ones awake early! So cute that Tyson has a play date!! I have my tired days on occasion too, believe it or not, when I make myself go to the gym or DO something, I actually feel better!

Kate - as busy as YOU are you need to get that crockpot working for you! Sometimes I have two going at once on the weekend! Its just so darn easy and I am so darn LAZY!! :coffee: If I could find a way to do my laundry in the crockpot I would be a happy Pony!!

Back to work again...have to hit it hard this week to get a commission check this month!

Morning Kate!! I guess everybody went to bed early last night! Figured I would be catching it this morning for abandoning the chat to talk to Ken in China again last night!!

OMG, he was actually out on an oil drilling rig in the East China Sea yesterday...arent those things like totally dangerous? Then I had this incredibly BIZARRE dream last night where I found out that he worked at a Car Dealership in Detroit!! What the hell is with that!!??? I gotta lay off the Atkins shakes before bed!!:lmao:

You are cute with your two crock pots! The porkloin sounded really good. Actually, the chicken did too. I think I am going to figure something out today, and getting cooking tomorrow!

Anybody else get the PM from stwill on LCF? She asked where we were...I PM'd back that I would tell her if she promised not to tell anyone else!! Are y'all OK with her coming here? I say YEAH!

KATHY!!! Did you see TSO has their new CD coming out in a week?!! I am so excited!!

If you guys like rock music or can tolerate it at all, you have GOT to listen to TransSiberian Orchestra...they have the most AMAZING Christmas music on the FACE OF THE PLANET!!!! Listen from their website or get any of the CD's and you will NOT regret it and will never think of Christmas music in the same way again!!

I was going to say something yesterday - yeah to stwill coming over!

Good morning ladies (and Tom)!

Busy, busy couple of days happening here in my world. I was here at the office at 7:30, and will be leaving at 10:10 to go to my DD10's school where she will be portraying Jacques Marquette in the Famous Explorer speeches.

Tomorrow both DD and I have eye appts. I know I need new lenses and she has been complaining of her eyes hurting and a lot of headaches. Luckily for me, it's a fashion show at the eye glasses portion with 50% off of all frames. Leave it to me to find a sale at the optometrist.

Gena, I hope your heel starts feeling better. Go pick up a pair of crocs to wear. They are the most comfortable shoes and so easy on your feet.

Kathy - I am hoping no news is good news for Carrie re: the police. I keep thinking at some point common sense will prevail.

Robin - an oil rig in the middle of the sea, holy cow ! I am sure you are ready for him to be home.

Tom - know that we are all thinking about you as you are counting down to the best days of your life! Post when you get a chance, and put some pics on your FB account so we can all see you.

Kathy - too funny about your dog having a play date. My DH and I were discussing how weird it is that we "schedule" play time for our kids (don't live in a neighborhood like we did as kids), I can't imagine scheduling time for the dog to play too. :rotfl:

Kate - good to see you. Glad you had an easy morning of reading.

Jocelyn - hope you start feeling better. There isn't much worse than a bad back. OUCH.

I think it's still a little early for Lisa and Nell. I'm sure we'll see them in a bit.

If I don't check back in until much later, just know I am with the most world-famous of the explorers (otherwise known as Mrs. Cobb's 5th grade class).

Kate: I do not know much about Graves disease, but I’ll be looking into it. Did you see the huge spread Newsweek did on it just within I’d say 6 weeks? I believe they have their pieces online. Let’s try to find it.:3dglasses

Seabreezes: I’m sorry your back hurts, but congrats at winning at bridge and most of all for getting out and being with your friends in spite of the back. You go girl!:woohoo:

Pony: Why did I wake up at 5 am realizing that your cheese soup might have milk in it? Milk isn’t allowed on Step 1 so can you check on that? You probably didn’t soak up enough in one serving to matter much.

Laundry in the crockpot, lol!:laundy:

Kathy: How cute that you have play dates for your dog! I hope they have a blast! We have a really cool dog park nearby. It’s huge with groomed areas, wild areas, kiddie pools for the dogs, chairs for the humans and water fountains. We can’t go near that street if we are running errands because Bonnie knows where it is!:dogdance:

Kate: Everyone was watching the Biggest Loser last night! Poor Gina is going to have a tough time around her family; they don’t have a clue how to eat properly.

I am fine with stwill coming over. Anyone that is democratic can come over.:dance3:

Beverly: How exciting for the 5th grade! That was, I believe my son’s best year ever in school. He cried when it was over and was so relieved when I told him I cried on the last day of 5th grade, too. He said, ‘It just went by so fast.” From the mouths of babes…

Ugh! My husband let some guy at the health food store sell him a bargain fish oil and it doesn't have the lemon in it - I can taste the difference, yuck!

Does anyone with fibro have aching lymph nodes under your arm from time to time? The first time I got this it scared me to death. Then I read it's one of the fibro symptoms. It's back for me, which tells me I'm doing something wrong. Wondering if just the D-ribose will make the difference?

Good Morning Ladies,

I found this receipe in my Clean Eating magazine and I am going to make this for Thanksgiving sounds really yummy.....

Spiced Pumpkin Mousse

2 15 oz cans 100% pure pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 1LB. Package silken tofu, drained well
1/2 cup pure maple syrup (i'm thinking I might use walden farms)
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp ground giner
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup nonfat plain greek-style yogurt
1 oz dark chocolate, cut into thin shards (about 1/4 cup)

Instructions:

One: In the bowl of a food processor, combine pumpkin and tofu. Process until combined, about 30 seconds. Add syrup, cinnamon, giner, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Process until combined, about 30 seconds more.

Two: Transfer mousse to a resealable container, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

Three: Drain any water that has accumulated from mousse. Give it a quick stir and scoop 1/2 cup mousse into each of 10 small glasses or ramekins. (you may have some mousse left over) Top each serving with 2 tsp yogurt and 1 tsp chocolate. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Each serving is: Calories: 130 Fat: 3.5 Sat. Fat: 1.5, Carbs: 22 g, Fiber: 4 g, Sugars: 14 (unless you use SF syrup), Protein: 4g, Sodium: 60 mg, Cholesterol: 0 mg.

stwill would be good to see again. I thought about Debbi/Pebbi but in thinking back decided against it. She was pretty sporatic in posting and pretty much stuck to the subject. I don't think she would want our mostly chatter filled environment. She seemed really nice though.

One of my favorites at Christmas is TSO's "Ring Christmas Bells" :santa:. They are truly amazing.

:scared1::scared1: More pumpkin !
Just kidding. This sounds pretty good to my punkin addicted self. Might try it later this year when I've finished squash detox. ;)

I have been using a website on and off for a few years and it really does help in relieving stress through the holidays. I am not sure why I stopped doing this but I am going to start again. :surfweb: I have to post again before I can type a link so go to www dot flylady dot net

Good morning!

Kate I hope you have a few moments during your day to rest! :thumbsup2 I did read that they suspect there might be an autoimmune connection with several of these endocrine illnesses. I know my Dad has a rare autoimmune muscle disease. He can barely walk and it can only get worse. His is one that is actually recognized by doctors, it's called Polymyositis. I wonder whether getting the immune system messed up might run in familes. I have hashimoto's disease, also the immune system attacking the thyroid but causing hypothyroid instead of hyper.

Kathy, I hope Tyson has a nice play date! We'll talk with you later!

Lisa, I'm sorry about the way your fish oil tastes.

Pony that is a funny dream. It sounds like part of you finds what Ken does to be completely unbelievable. A car dealership would be a lot more tame.

Hi Laura! How are you doing?

I would like to see stwill also.

Laura: That pumpkin mousse sounds wonderful. I can't believe how smooth silken tofu makes blended things. I'm going to try it if I can find the Walden Farms.
