Geriatric MM Warriors!

I'm weird; I like to clean, but today I am torn because there are so many choices. Outside, upstairs, downstairs Ha! Here I am in the office. I'm still filing What??:surfweb:

Mike is a hoarder, so I have so much trouble trying to get him to part with anything. Clutter just drives me nuts! We have a 3 story house, plus a basement. And with all the kids leaving, we are getting more room. A total of 6 bedrooms. It really is a big house. We are going to convert the 2 attic bedrooms into 1 big one for Mike and I. I'm really excited about it.

You guys want to vote on something for me? I just emailed Diane, but she is away until Oct. 26. It suddenly occurred to me that since I didn't make the minimum weight loss on the chart for Step 1 that maybe I should have stayed there until I did??? I wish I had asked her earlier before I moved up to Step 2. I have become a little smaller on Step 2 still without losing any more lbs. My size loss is very slow, but if I try on something that I could wear loosely 2 - 3 weeks ago, now it is falling off. What do you all think I should have done, or should do about not being at the chart levels? I have no medical issues. I suspect there is a chance my bioidentical hormones could be making me hold on to weight, but I am scared to stop them in case the murder rate in my county should rise.:scared1:

I think as long as your clothes are getting bigger, you're ok. I know I weigh myself daily, but it's more out of habit than anything. I don't put much stock in weight. Ya, it's nice to say I lost x amount of weight, but it's also nice to lose the inches. Maybe go to step 1 for 10 days or so, and see if it jump starts it for you. What about your husband, how is he fairing on step 2? But I honestly wouldn't put too much stock in the weight thing.
Are you strength training in anyway that your building muscle? As we all know, it weighs more than fat.
Just my 2 cents :hippie:

Nell - thankfully I DO have sunday off so its shopping, cooking and playing with the ponies!!

Lisa - I get the tylenol hangover too...I would be hopeless as a drug addict! LOL

Natalie - the Julian bread is really good, but if you try to make your own and its any good let us know! I would klove to be able to make bread at home that is legal!!

Bev - Happy anniversay!

Someone on the other site was adding coffee to their Atkins shake and putting it in the blender with a bit of ice....sounded really good! Like a mocha latte!

Lisa - if your clothes are falling off , how can you think that your size loss is slow? MINE is slow, only down the one size even after loss of 25 pounds! I still cant figure that out...seems I should be having more size loss...still have the dratted muffin top, although it is somewhat smaller...

I got the response from my e-mail too that she was out of town, so no answers for me about moving back to step 2 yet...I think I am just going to plan on staying on step 1 for the month....I definitely see improvements in blood sugar, so I am actually quite content here!

Pony: I think it's slow because if I try on a size smaller, it's still too tight, so I am not down a whole size across the board. I'm not discouraged, just wondering if I should have waited for Step 2?? I still have the same general body type (like your muffin top) but it must all be smaller even though it's still there. I could easily pick me out of a crowd for sure so no great transformation yet.

Kathy: I want to talk to a trainer and see what I can do. I have a lot of limitations with fibro. I get muscle spasms sometimes from things that wouldn't hurt a normal person. I have an inflammed bicep tendon, so I can't do things with my shoulders, which is very limiting - Grrrrr. I'm hoping this WOE will help me lose the sensitivity in my muscles over time. I'm a lot better than I was since incorporating all the nutritionals, but I still tweak easily.

Thanks for the input. Maybe I'll stay here til I hear from Diane?? I haven't slipped up one time on anything at all except not always exercising the right amount. That is my renewed conviction.
You guys are the best!:cheer2:
Lisa

Beverly, Happy Anniversary! How many years?:yay::yay::yay:
:bride:pirate::bride:pirate::bride:pirate::bride:
I hope you like dashing pirates - he's Johnny Depp like:love:

Nell: Oh, pumpkin pie seasoning in the sweet potatoes! Fantastic idea! Do you use any liquid and mash them up? We grew up on the candied kind with marshmellows and then over the years got much healthier with the choices. We also used to smother the veggies with cheese sauce. Yikes.

I use some butter so they are not too dry. If you wanted to get really healthy, you could use a bit of butter for the taste and then a healthy type oil.

Kathy, it's always easier to clean someone else's house I think. It's too personal to clean our own stuff. That sounds very cool with the big bedroom upstairs. A friend of mine did that before and it was their own personal space where she and her husband could shut out the kids when they were home and now the grandkids. Their kids always come and stay. They are the kind of people with open door policy with friends also.

Happy Anniversary Beverly! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Something you could do maybe would be those stretchy band things. I think it's called resistance. Or even for your arms, grab a small can of soup in each hand and just lift them up and down. It doesn't have to be anything heavy. Or just forget about the cans and do windmill exercises. That would work your obliques.

We also have an open door policy. Sometimes not the best thing as with Mike's son and some of the kids he brought here. But I would never turn someone away.
I am excited about the bedroom. In all this house, I don't really have anywhere that is "my space" so to speak. The bedrooms aren't that big. We have a king sized bed, and the bedroom is just big enough for that and a dresser. The closet is also very tiny. But I'm thankful I at least have somewhere to lay my head at night.

Ok, brain storm here, sort of. I just made my whipped cream for my jello. Awesome. Used heavy whipping cream (1 cup) dumped some of the Davinci s/f vanilla in it, and a splenda packet. Whipped until stiff peaked. AWESOME! So, if I find a low carb recipe for the pumpkin roll, the filling is
cream cheese
whipped topping
splenda

So, I will try using my homemade whipped cream. No carbs then in the filling. It would be a freebie, am I thinking right?

Sounds free!

Now if I can get the carb count down in the cake part, I'll be happy.

I just found out my baggy pants aren't the size 14's. I grabbed my 16's thinking they were the 14's. Oh well, at least the 16's are big.
For anyone who wants to see, I am posting wedding pictures on FB. Just wanted to let you know. They got married in her MIL and FIL's barn. Tris' house is right across the road, in the pictures.

TA DAH!! Here I be! :dance3:

Hi everyone!!

I feel like I'm sneaking off to a secret rendezvous!

Thanks Robin and Lisa for directing me here, I really appreciate your continued acceptance, even after my bumbling screw up. This is great!

I need to quit checking out the smilies and chat huh? Do I have to? lol

Okay so let's talk about how old my kids are getting! They turn 22, 23, 26, and 29!! this year. Where does the time go!?!? Lisa how old is your son? My DD26 is being auctioned off to the highest bidder very soon. lol Actually I'm so very proud of her for staying single for as long as she has. She is a master hair stylist and store manager for Regis Salons. She just got promoted to district manager covering mid Indiana to northern Kentucky. I hate that she has to travel but she's all about it. Lisa, I'll be sure to get a picture of the cake and get it posted. She's still working on it and she's very frustrated over how it's going. lol We shall see.

So when the new forum is set up with Diane, will you all continue here as well?

I'll be back to sit and get caught up you all and set up my profile ...I'm I a perv or is there something really wrong with this banana? lmao!

See you all soon! pixiedust:

22 years. I'm just waiting for DH to get home now.

And I don't mind Johnny Depp. I always tease the kids he is my fantasy man (without the tattoos, and he has to quit smoking).

Hi Pam. Just wanted to say how happy I am that you made it here. Take all the time you want with the smilies. Heaven knows we've been having our fun with them.
Ok, got to shower and get ready for my concert tonight. Going to see Clarks at IUP at 8.
Catch up later:hug:

Pam: It's great to see you! Don't you love the smileys?? We're so relaxed and happy here. You didn't screw up. The only problem came about when there was no vote. JMHO. My son will be 24 in March. I can't wait for someone else to love him! Well, I can wait, but it will make me rest easier since he is so far away. I'd love to have a girl look after him when he's sick, etc. :thumbsup2

Sounds like everyone is having a lot of fun this weekend wth family stuff. I am having a quiet one so far, but getting a lot done. Just finished with the hardest file I've had in a very long time so that's a good feeling. Catching up and cleaning up!:surfweb:

Diane is gone until the 26th and we don't know when her forum for us will be available or how it will run so I guess we are optimistic and glad to be here together. We'll most likely always come here to post in a more personal way with each other. None of us want to be on a site that gets hijacked again, so we'll have to feel it out as it develops over there. This is my spin; let's let the others chime in.

Hello Pam!!! We have fun smiley's that for sure! I'm making dinner and stopped in in to say hello! It is 66 degrees tonight! I'm so excited! Too bad it's going to be back in the 80's in a few days.

I'm making mocked mashed and seasoned hamburg patties. It's a very meat and potatoes feeling meal if you miss that. I do sometimes. I might make some broccoli soup tonight also to have for the next couple of days until we get hit with summer again.

I'll be back in a little while!

I'm making spaghetti squash with 6 carb pasta sauce and I think ground turkey in it. I don't know quite how to measure so I guess I have to brown the meat and stir it in after I measure the sauce for two. We'll have a few grapes to finish up our carbs, I think.
