Is there a grocery near the resort?

Any suggestions for dinner?

Any don't miss activities both at the resort and off?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

We shop at the Piggly Wiggly - or the "Pig" as it's known to the CM's there -- it's conveniently located just a little bit from the resort. There is also a newer grocery store a little past the resort, I can't recall the exact name but it's along the lines of Fresh Market (maybe that is the name?) where they have things already prepared so all you have to do is cook them. We bought some very nice shish-kabobs there last summer and steaks and then grilled them at the resort. Very good!

We don't do a lot of dining out, but we do enjoy a lunchtime trip to Sea Shack. They have the best gumbo there we've had and their prices can't be beat for the quality of the food. We usually go right at lunch time as it gets rather busy quickly and it's not a big place.

If your kids are little, it's fun to go out to Harbour Town and climb the lighthouse out there. There's a really nice playground right around the main parking area there as well.

We like the Publix, which is on the right as you head towards Harbour Town.

Publix is the best grocery store. If you have kids buy some of the fresh cooked chicken tenders at the deli counter---very yummy!

Personal dinner fave: Redfish.

We did the Piggly Wiggly last time we were there... Nice place... As others have said, Publix is also close..

Activities...
* Depending on when you go, you may want to try Star Spangled Thursday's (AYCE BBQ, Fireworks, Nightsliding, etc)
* Just like VB, the campfire at HHI is great...
* If you like fishing, you may want to try "crabbing" off the pier... The resort will provide the nets, and you need to get the bait from a local grocery store...
* The CM's also do very types of crafts, several are nature based... Bird House painting, Dead Fish shirt painting..
* Also make it a point to see Shadow and B'leu Crabbie if you have a chance..

Dinner:
As far as dinners go, we usually eat in the room... We know there are some great restaurants around HHI, but we tend to like to wind the day up quietly with the kids...

grocery---there are plenty of grocery stores up and down the main road, as others stated Publix is good, Piggly is good, theres also an organic store somewhere very nearby but I cant remeber the name

restaurants--tons. If you like seafood the Old Oyster Factory is pretty good

also just about a two minute walk from the resort are a few decent restaurants over in the Marina/Shops area. the Italian place was good and the seafood place, Scotts, was good. Scotts was a bit more casual with some outside seating but they did also have indoor seating
