Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

MeMom, thank you for your note the other day. It came at a time when I really needed it. :goodvibes I have been having laptop issues and so I am catching up (well trying to) while it is working. I am going back to read some more I am at the point where you announced that Trent and Tanya just moved back to TN. Going back to read some more.

Whew! Thanks for the spider/snake warning! :faint: With the exception of the aforementioned, looks like a really neat zoo!

Very cool that you were able to have a mini DIS meet with Dawn, Seth, Anna and Luke! :)

Love all the Disney connections in your "M-words" :thumbsup2 I wish all of your students would have the opportunity to visit our happy place!

I saw those eggs at Target with the net but I didn't realize they had insects in them! I wish I had looked at them closer. Maybe they'll have some left on clearance and I'll pick some up for next year! The little ones don't really need all that candy in addition to what the Easter Bunny will bring :) I did get some at Big Lots that came with little toys to put inside.

I'm planning on using some of my Mickey bowls for Easter - We don't go all out Disney, but it will be fun to have a few touches here and there :goodvibes especially all those pretty summer colors. My plates came really quick, the one on top (the orange one) was cracked right in half. I called and they are shipping a whole new set and said to keep the others :thumbsup2 I love their customer service! Have a great weekend, I hope you make it to the Disney Store, I know how much I miss ours!!!!!

I wish I could take my students to Disney World, too. Most of them don't get out much past their city. You should have seen them at the zoo - they were running from here to there pointing out things so excitedly. They would go nuts in WDW!

Glad you had a nice time at the zoo MeMom. Enjoy your day off! :)

I did enjoy the day off. I think I'd like another one pretty soon.

Not insects in them, but on them. They do have chewy candy (I didn't want hard), but I have to open them up in a minute and see how much. I might replace some of it with M&M's, since they are the favorite. I don't think little bits of candy like that in each egg will be too bad. They're just so cute, and I might be able to use them for some activity at school sometime, too.

I'm glad you got your dishes. I guess since we aren't going to the Disney Store after all, I should get back online and order a set. Sorry that one was broken, but it ended up in your favor, and no one deserves a perk like that more than you do, as much money as you give Disney. ::yes::

Okay, I just opened the cute little buggy eggs. They have wrapped candies in them - about 4-5 to a pack. I opened them all and put two M&M's in some and two of the individual pieces out of the packs in each one. That will end up being not too much candy at all, and I'll have the extra to take to school as bribe candy. Bribe candy works wonders on eight year olds. :) They'll do just about anything for a Skittle, or in this case, a chewy Lemonhead or jelly bean.

Disney soap dispensers at Target  I didn't know about these!! Guess I'm going to Target tomorrow morning to do some looking around LOL!!!!

Loved your board at school!! My students are highly amused about the number of different Disney shirts I wear on Fridays, they know for a fact they haven't seen a one worn twice and they love to tease me about it. Of course they also knew enough to make me a Mickey Mouse cake when my bday came around (I love my students)!!!!

I had today off too and I so enjoyed it! I have to tell you I think I'm in same camp as Trent, deviled eggs over cookies anyday! Wish I could just pop on over and try one LOL!!!!

Have a great Easter Memom!!!!

Not insects in them, but on them.

Oh well, I think it would be awesome if they had little plastic insects in them. I agree, a little candy never hurt anything :) I have to wait until the last minute to buy any for Easter because I end up eating it myself. Those white chocolate Reese's Easter eggs are sooooo good!

How awesome to get a Mickey Mouse cake from your students! ::MickeyMo I know they love you, too. :thumbsup2
My students draw pictures of Disney characters for me. I had a student come by the other day from a class about five years ago, and she asked if I still loved Miskey Mouse. I told her to take a peek inside the room. :)

Any time you are in the Nashville area, let me know. You could come over for dinner when Anita and Marc come this summer.

Now you've got me wishing I had found them sooner and put little toys in them. BUT, I think it'll be okay, because they really don't need any more little things to strew all over the house. I put two pieces of candy in each each, so that'll be gone quickly. The eggs will be saved for another egg hunt in the future. I am also thinking they might be good to use when I put together my It's Tough to be a Bug center. I could have questions on cards and then have the answers in the insect eggs. I'll have to think about a way to use them. There was one silver egg that was the special winner, but I won't be using that one with just Brooklynn and Bella.

The show about Walt Disney is on CNBC now if anyone wants to catch the last half of it! It's a GREAT show!

If we don't get to see it this weekend, you can enlighten us on the movie. Brooklynn would love it, but she might get sad in some parts.

I never made it to the movie....I watched Say Yes To The Dress reruns...and then my family came over and we were playing on the Wii and then I started laundry....and now it's 8:43pm and it's too late....oh well, I'm sure I'll go at some point this week! It's gonna be a big movie week for me. I know our censor warning on the website for movie times said some scary parts and mild violence if that helps at all for Brooklyn.

Last Sunday, I met up with Dawn and Seth as they were leaving to go back to Atlanta. I got to meet Anna and Luke, too.

We just met in a parking lot so that they could move on and I could get on to church afterward.

Luke had already settled in with his video game. Seth had his pal, Buzz.

I was happy to get to see them for a few minutes. :goodvibes

Me too! Even if it was only for a few minutes. So glad I got to see you! :)

Warning: There will be some spiders and snakes.
SethZooFieldTrip004.jpg

Where's the warning for that horrid bird in the first picture??? ;)

Loved the zoo pics. I am actually hoping to take Seth tomorrow to Zoo Atlanta. It depends on how he's feeling. He's teething pretty hard right now and was running a slight fever earlier today. I don't want to take him all the way down there and then him be miserable the whole time. So we'll see how he does in the morning and if he's in a good mood I'll probably leave here around 11:00. Keep your fingers crossed we get to go - it's supposed to be beautiful tomorrow! And I'll get some good gorillas pictures for you. :)

HAPPY EASTER! :flower3:

MeMom- It looks like your zoo day was a success! I'm glad to hear that your students had such a good time. You are such a wonderful teacher to open their minds to the world of nature! :)

I also loved the photos from the Dig Site and Restaurantosaurus. I know that many people don't like Dinoland, and claim that it isn't "themed", but those people must not know anything about paleontology! It is so awesome to look at all the neat little references. In real life (pre-mommy days) I was an archeologist, and while I dug up people and not dinos, I still can really relate to many of the "dig culture" gags. If you live with the same small group in an isolated spot for many months at a time, things do tend to get a little crazy, and I love all the goofy things you can find in Dinoland, like the golden trowel award in your photo. I remember doing things just like that to pass the time and keep things interesting! Thanks for all the fun photos!

They also have a Mickey shower curtain, hooks (for shower curtain), trashcan, bath mat, and towels!!!! Yep, I saw this posted somewhere on this thread!!! Of course, I had to go get them!!!! I didn't get the soap dispenser or the towels though. I'll post a pic when I get the curtain up.

Happy Easter everyone!!! I hope you have a great weekend!!!!!

I didn't catch it. I hope another DISer was able to enjoy it.

If we see it, it will have to be Sunday afternoon after lunch. Trent really wants to see it with Brooklynn. Bella would probably do again if she had some munchies, or maybe she'd even fall asleep. Or I can keep her here for a nap and the others can go see it. Or we can do it another week. We just don't know yet. :)

I didn't think about the bird warning.
So sorry. :flower3:

I hope you guys do get to go to the zoo. I will get down there one of these days.

I am hoping to get better pictures at the zoo today. Watching so many kids that were going so many different directions on the school trip was not the exact right condition for taking good pictures. :goodvibes They had a blast, though. I wish some of their parents would take them out there for the whole day so that they could really see everything, but out of my 21, only 2 had ever been.

That's fun that you have that connection to the Dig Site.

Happy Easter everyone!!! I hope you have a great weekend!!!!!

We will look forward to your picture. I thought for a split second about picking up the Mickey or Minnie soap, but I didn't really like that there was writing on it. I had looked it up online, and when I did, the black ceramic dispenser showed up, too. It was just plain black, and it was $9.99. I think I would like that one better, if I were going to have one in this particular bathroom. If I had a more Mickeyish theme, I would like it okay, but my AKL theme is more subdued. I need a house with more bathrooms so I can choose another fun Disney theme. ;)

Happy Easter to you, too! I got up and made the potato soup I am taking to Joan and Brandy, and stirred two cake mixes together to bake later. I am rolling my hair now, and I am going to run to the grocery store in a few minutes to get the rest of my Easter dinner stuff. I think I'm doing some ham, baked potatoes, salad, and a few different vegetables. Just keeping it simple.

I bought the black Mickey soap dispenser a few weeks ago at Target and I love it. I picked it up several times and put it back several times. I was thinking that I didn't need to spend 10.00 on a soap dispenser that I didn't really need. So when I went to check out, they had a special offer that I wasn't aware of. Something that I purchased came with a 5.00 gift card towards my next purchase. So, I happily went back and got the dispenser for half off.

I know that your post came with a disclaimer but those spiders are awful. I can handle snakes but spiders are terrible.

All caught up again... Looks like you did a lot at Animal Kingdom! I have to get back out to Rafiki's next time. Tim & Zach had fun out there in March while I rode Dinosaur 5000 times with Alex! It was fun to see your pictures since Tim only took a few.

I saw Christine told you about our DIS meet next Saturday for her birthday, before the Red Sox game. Charles is going to be coming, too! I'm so excited for him to meet yet another DIS friend!

Looks like you guys had a great day at the zoo. I loved the pictures of the tigers, especially the white tiger. They are so beautiful!

Just in case I don't get on tomorrow, I hope everyone has a happy Easter!

That was a nice little bit of Disney magic in a 'round about' way. :wizard:

When we were at the zoo yesterday, one of the workers (I really just want to say CM's) had a tarantula out of the glass and was showing it outside the building. As soon as Tanya heard us say what the group of people was gathered around, she did a 180 and headed the other direction.

Have a great Easter, MeMom! :daisy:

Same to you and to all our DIS friends.

We do love our Animal Kingdom. I wish we could have been there for the birthday this week. :)

Brooklynn came home with two tigers. You know how she is about her stuffed animals. She spotted those two, and it was love at first sight. She went around the gift shop to other things, but she kept coming back to those. In the car, they were named Icy Snowflake and Rajah. :lovestruc

I probably won't be on tomorrow, so I just wanted to say have a Happy Easter, everyone! :)

And to you, as well. I wasn't on but a minute yesterday. We were on the go all day. I'll catch up tonight after everyone is gone and try to put pictures up.

We have enjoyed a very nice Earth Day and Easter week in our family. Seems like several of you went to zoos, as we did. We also saw African Cats yesterday afternoon and then went to see Brandy's new baby, Micah. After that, Jill and the girls went to pick John up at the airport, since he had been in California all week. It was a full day for everyone.

Then, in the middle of the night, I think I heard the Head Bunny hopping around my house. I am going to go out there in a few minutes and see what he was doing.

Happy Easter, all!
