Early Entry/IG/Guardians

realized they also let in the guests entering from the front of the park.

Yes, because the front of the park is a legitimate entrance and is used by most people staying at resorts other than the Skyliner and Crescent Lake resorts. They are entitled to EE as well, so why wouldn't that entrance be used for EE also?

Is this logic sound?
No, because you’re severely underestimating the amount of people rope dropping Guardians from the front entrance. It’s not the non resort guests waiting to come in at 9 that you have to worry about, it’s the nonstop stream of EE stragglers past that initial first wave. There is no lull in that crowd lol. And you’re not beating them to that ride from World Showcase no matter how early you get there. That’s the fundamental flaw with these rope dropping Guardians from IG schemes, they fail to account for how quickly that line builds.

I just got back from a split stay where we rope dropped both ways, as BWI and Poly guests. When we rope dropped from BWI, we were literally on the first ride vehicle for Remy, and when we got out Guardians was already posted 30. In the 5 or so minutes it took me to book it to Norway for FEA (insane NYer power walking that is not feasible for most humans, including the 2 who were with me), Guardians had gone to 40. World Discovery is a much longer walk from France than Norway, so that would not have been the move vs the 15 min we waited for Frozen.

The only way you ride Guardians at rope drop with less than a 45 min actual wait imo is if you’re in the initial wave of people, and the only way that’s happening is if you’re coming in the front. Heck even when we came in the front, we got there way later than I wanted to due to transportation snafus at the TTC (we walked over and the Epcot monorail was down, so they sent buses, and we didn’t get there till almost 8), and I knew trying to double up since we bought LLs was a fool’s errand.

Just do it at EEH. That’s what we did at BWI, on top of LLs. Otherwise you are looking at 60 min posted waits that will absolutely be 60 minutes. At EEH we waited till the end of the night and were in the first preshow room after like 12 minutes.

Sorry, I misread your post. If you were on the first car on Remi, how did you not have enough time to be the guardians before 9 AM? Did you experience any delays?

I wouldn’t expect to be on Guardians before 9am only to be in the standby line before the regular role drop crowd arrives shortly after 9am.

It would definitely be tight. Assuming they start to let the line in Remy at 830 and no delays; it's still quite a walk getting over to GoG from Remy.

I do think it's doable, but when we tried it (we were 3rd on Remy) they had about a 5 min. delay of opening that day and by the time we got off I knew we wouldn't make it over there before the reg. rope drop crowd.

You know Remy offers SR? You could rope drop GOTG and SR Remy later in the day.

You will need a literally perfect day to hit Remy and be at GOTG before 9am, personally I wouldn’t do it. Google maps says it’s a 15 min walk- but you will be swimming upstream of all the people rushing Remy from the front of the park so I think that’s too optimistic personally. But, if you’re more aggressive about plowing others over than I am, maybe you can keep it to 15? Remy is a 5 min ride but you need time to load and unload as well. You need to be in line at GOTG a couple mins before 9am to avoid the regular rope drop crowd. So, theoretically possible. Realistically? Tough.

Agreed; any sort of delay with Remy would certainly affect the timing.

I was figuring 5 minutes to load, 5 minutes for the ride, 5 minutes to unload with the absolute key being to beat the Skyliner crowd to the IG. The walk is less than 3/4 mi, no way that's taking us 15 minutes and in no way does that mean we have to "plow" over people 🤣.

Do you remember what time you made it to the gateway to get the third car for Remy?

We were on the skyliner, which doesn't "officially" start until 730 these days, although in our experience, if alls working well they start loading ppl. by 720/725.

I think if you're at IG by 715; you'll beat the skyliner the folks. The other issues though are how quickly you get through security and the tap styles and then how well you jockey for your spot on the walk to Remy. - We actually were 1st in line after the tapstyles (where they scan your band), but ended up losing a cpl. spots on the walk from the bridge to the ride.

- Honestly, successfully rope dropping has become such a chore lol. We much prefer the parks that just let you walk and get right in the line for what you're doing first. So much more pleasant.
