Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

I wanted one of those Flamingos too, but I don't have a garden either. I did buy my mother one and it is a nice Disney reminder when I go to her house.

I didn't even see the Mickey Welcome stone or Tink lanteen. I don't know which I like better. I am probably better off not being given any shopping time, b/c I would end up with both.

I'm glad Brooklyn picked the giraffe. Caitlin wants to get a fake snake next time we go to our local zoo. I am terrified of snakes and I think she just wants it to torture me. I have a feeling it will end up getting hidden in my bed or something.

Those mickey flamingos are great!!! I would love to have an entire flock of them for our yard. LOL!

I have my dates all messed up -- for some reason I thought you were all leaving today, and I hurried onto to the DIS to wish you safe travels. Of course, once I started reading, I realized you weren't leaving until next Friday, so I have another week to wait until I pull out the pixie dust to send you on your way.

By this time next week we hope to be driving through Atlanta at the very least.

My sister told me that her school district was talking about only going to school four days a week, she's said everything will be rushed and she's not happy about it. not the response you expect from a senior huh? ;) Sure, I liked (sometimes loved) school too, but by the time my senior year rolled around I couldn't wait to be done. :rotfl: Speaking of which, I was another child who was excited about back to school clothes, although in Florida "Fall" wardrobe wasn't that different from Summer wardrobe.

Congrats MeMom on your new PT. Hope everything works out for you. :thumbsup2

Jill, I may have mentioned it before but I love how organized you are. Sounds like you have quite the busy week. Good luck to Brooklynn at her recital on Saturday. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I'll be following alone via Facebook (no magical you'd rather be here texts for me this time because I'm without a phone for a little while) I did tell my dad you about meeting up with you all on the 4th. I'll remind him again.

So glad that Brooklynn decided to get the giraffe instead of the snake. ;)

Let your dad know we plan on seeing him on Sunday, July 3rd. That is our scheduled morning at Hollywood Studios.

Thanks BrooklynnsMommy ! I look forward to having the link and following along. :)

It will be awesome to be staying right at a DTD hotel...one week from today...
Very close to shopping if you aren't too tired. :thumbsup2

One of those Mickey knomes are coming home with me!
And I think the flamingo would look nice up here in Canada too!
I'll be sure to bring him in for the winter.

Good Friday morning everyone! Next Friday you will be on your way!!! That is awesome.
I hope you did not have storms last night. We have had bad storms all this week. The electricity was out for thousands of people in Knoxville and was just being restored when round two came through last night. I awoke to my sister calling me at 1:30 in the morning because funnel clouds and severe storms were heading to my area. She woke me up just in time to get the boys and gather everyone in the closet under the stairs before a horrible storm hit. I have not had much sleep but at least we are safe. Power once again is out for a lot of Knoxville and flooding many places. I wish the weather would mellow already!!
Love the pics of Epcot! I want the Mickey Flamingo so bad!! Brooklyn is so cute with her giraffe.
Oh, by the way, the boys jumped off the diving board yesterday into 10 foot water and swam with assistance to the side. Needless to say, I was in shock.

As always, great updates! Love how organized Jill is with packing! I'm organized, but I think i'm going to try her technique next time! I went to the Flower and Garden festival for the first time last April and it was Gorgeous! I definitely want to go back!!! I really wish I would have bought some of the decor for my dorm, but that just warrents an excuse to make another trip down! I love the shirt, and I agree about the bugs! I also want the flamingo's and the mickey gnome! When I was in New Mexico (Santa Fe/Albuquerque) I bought a painted fish that looks the exact same as they make in WS at Mexico! It was so cool! Me and my mom shared a few treats from Norway last trip! I had the Schoolbread and my mom had the cloudberry horn and then we shared the pretzel! Yummy!!!!! Brooklyn looks so happy! I feel the same exact way when I'm there! I think I might have to buy the mexican Donald next trip! My Uncle's girlfriend lives in Mexico, and she has never been to Disney :o So that might be something to do! I LOVE that giraffe! I collect the Disney Babies stuffed animals and so far I have three (Dumbo, Pooh, and Tigger) but I am on the hunt for more!

Thank you for the wonderful F&G pictures. Someday, I want to take a trip during F&G, (and F&W, and Halloween, and Christmas...:lmao:)

Are you ready to explode from the excitement of leaving so soon???:cheer2:!!!

I say go for it!!! They are so happy here in their Kansas home, I'm sure they will think Boston is marvelous!!!

I think so, too! I really want to find them and put them in my dad's garden without him noticing just to see what he says or does -- he is very into what he calls his "super manly" garden and I would LOVE to see his reaction when he found pink flamingoes with Mickey ears in there! :lmao:

/
Wow, with how busy you are your week is going to flyyyyy by! I can't wait to see updates and pictures on FB since I've only been back 2 weeks and have bad Disney blues already :guilty:

I bet your excitement is brewing over, isn't it? :goodvibes:banana:

Okay, first:

HOORAY FOR SINGLE DIGITS!!!
:cool1::banana::yay:

Secondly, Jill you are one super organized woman! I would love to be that organized. Sadly, it'll never happen.:sad2:

MeMom, I hope that the part-time Y gig will work out for you. It's always nice to have a little extra cash for times when you need it, or want it for Disney!

I love the pics of all of the F&G pins. I don't know how I missed them. Could be that in April, we were kid free and I just happened to drink around the world.....:rolleyes1

I think some our DIS friends crave these things.

Catching up :goodvibes

When I bought a big box of these at POP, the salesclerk joked that I could probably sell them for a huge profit...she's probably not that far off but I'm saving them all for me

Yay for being so close to your trip! It looks like the girls have some super cute outfits to wear in Disney, I love how they will be dressed alike. Maybe my next baby will be a boy and then I could dress my two boys alike! :goodvibes

I know you will have a wonderful time! I wish I could be down there to meet up with you and watch the fireworks. We're going to watch the fireworks in DC from a friend's roof, so that should be pretty spectacular, but they won't be set to Disney music.

I love those flamingos! I wish I saw them when we were down there, I definitely would have picked one up. Then again, Pink lawn flamingos are probably against the homeowners association covenant, so its probably good that I didn't.

Those treats in Norway sure look yummy! I just love to munch on one of those sweet pretzels while watching Illuminations!

IMG_1672.jpg

You know, I never got any pics in here. I always figured there would be another time...then suddenly there wasn't :sad2:

IMG_1680.jpg

In all the time you have been posting pictures from POP, it still felt foreign...now it feels like home :goodvibes

I know the feeling (as you can see by my tag) :upsidedow
Now I'm gonna go knock on some wood because it hasn't been too bad lately!

My car is sputtering. My mechanic wants to wait until an orange CHECK ENGINE lights comes on before he does anything. It's old and has a lot of miles on it, but I know he can keep it running if anyone can.

The middle of the cloudberry horn is indeed a cream, I never would have been able to finish one if it had been frosting. Give one a try MeMom - they're yummy!

Love the panda topiaries  And Brooklynn looks like a natural model posing in front of them :goodvibes

I have it on my list. My list is growing, and I know I won't get to everything, but I'll get to some.

She was posing there a little, wasn't she?

I tried the cloudberry horn on our January trip and it was quite delicious. Having said that however, I never would have been able to finish one on my own so thank goodness for DH's and DS's who are willing to take one for the team and finish my treats for me. :thumbsup2

I am hoping that we WILL be able to go to F&G 2012 but I won't know for certain if that's going to be possible for a few months yet. I'm saving up for it though...well, actually I've been saving up for an August/September 2011 trip but it's not looking good at the moment logistics-wise. :sad2: So, if we can't go this August, then we'll be looking at beginning of February or end of April 2012 which would be F&G and would cheer me quite nicely if this end of summer trip falls through.

Those pink flamingos are TOO CUTE! I may just have to bring a couple home with me if we ARE able to make it down next spring!

Yes, a new trip would definitely help cheer you up from having to postpone another one. You wouldn't get official F&G time in February, but it would be nice to leave winter behind for a while, so either February or April would be nice.

I love the Epcot pictures!! I visited my first Flower and Garden Festival a couple of years ago and can't wait to go again!!
I don't have kids yet and I still pack my clothes in bags, after a bottle of shampoo exploding its much easier!!!
Your trip is getting so close!!!

I always put my liquids in bags, too. :thumbsup2

This time next week, we'll probably be in Downtown Disney. :earsgirl:

I see a few things I would like to have. I like the Welcome rock with Mickey and DH really wants the pink flamingos. He loves those things.

The treats look very yummy! Ben and I are spending our anniversary in Epcot without the kids (shhh....don't tell them) and I need to make a list of the yummy treats we should try.

Brooklynn looks like she is having a great conversation with her new giraffe friend. Too cute!

Hooray for a nice day in Epcot doing grown-up things. :woohoo:

There is no telling what Brooklynn was saying. Jill reminded me of the giraffe's name today - Sparkly Glitter. :rotfl: I knew it would be something unique. Brooklynn is a trip when it comes to naming her new friends.

Megan and Keeley both have part time jobs at the Kid Zone YMCA here in our area. No it doesn't pay much but they can take their kids if necessary so that's a perk for them! I hope it works out for you, extra Disney money is a good thing!

I do, too. I don't really do anything on Mondays and Fridays, and it's only until 8. Tues. and Thurs. is tutoring, and Wednesdays are faculty meetings after school, so those days are out. I won't work every Saturday, so I can still see the girls regularly, and when they are up here, I'll be off at 1, so we'll have the rest of the day. Sunday is after church, so that's not a factor. I think it'll be okay.

I thought one of these would have been lonely, so two of them came home with us on our Spring Break trip!

Jill, I packed for Harper using the ziplock bags and it worked very well! The only thing I didn't do was label them with a date...

Were they a hit at your pool party today? I think I saw on FB you were doing that today.

Love the topiaries and treats pictures!!

It reminds me that I have a TR going that I should get back to soon!!!

I have a welcome garden stone but mine is just grey. That one is cuter. Mine also is not in a garden. No one would see it! So it's on my front doorstep.

Brooklyn is definitely a smart girl for picking a giraffe over the snake! Snakes just aren't right...blech! The picture of her talking to her new friend is absolutely adorable!

Someday when I have a lovely garden I want all of those garden accessories! Alas....I have a black thumb so that day is not likely to be soon...:upsidedow

She ended up getting a snake at the Nashville Zoo.

I will join you in the Black Thumb Club. Fake plants are my strength. ;)

I love those garden flamingoes! Kinda makes me wonder what my dad would say if I managed to sneak a couple into his "Boston gahden"...:rolleyes1

Do it!
And one of them should be wearing thick glasses!

I say go for it!!! They are so happy here in their Kansas home, I'm sure they will think Boston is marvelous!!!

You'll have to post pictures of your mingos.
I think I could get one for my OKW den.

Yes, those strangely out-of-proportion bugs on the F&G Tshirt are a little creepy. And ohmigoodness, those Mickey gnomes are just hysterical. Just might have to kidnap one if they still have them next F&G. DH has banned flamingoes, but he hasn't said anything about gnomes ... ;)

Yay for more Disney $ -- and for being ready to say no to a 3rd job if you find it's just too much. Sometimes just knowing you can say no helps to make a situation more tolerable.

And yippee for having the 1st tootcase packed! IT must feel like you're halfway there already. Hurray for a busy, fun week to make the time fly! :cheer2:

That shirt really would be nice if it weren't for the big bugs. Maybe if they were smaller, but it looks fine to me without them.

I have a good start on my tootcase. I have shirts, capris, most of my toiletries, socks.... I am in wonderful shape as far as packing goes. It's nice to have these free summer days to do it a little at a time without it being a hassle.

Hello!!!

I am happy to see that Brooklynn chose the giraffe and not the snake. I am not a big fan of snakes. Not at all. Ick!

I loved seeing your Flower and Garden Festival pics. Good memories!

And the talk of Schoolbread is making me drool. Yum!

I like the custardy middle of Schoolbread.

You should teach us a word a week from your new culture. :thumbsup2

When is your first Disney trip over there?

My sister told me that her school district was talking about only going to school four days a week, she's said everything will be rushed and she's not happy about it. not the response you expect from a senior huh? ;) Sure, I liked (sometimes loved) school too, but by the time my senior year rolled around I couldn't wait to be done. :rotfl: Speaking of which, I was another child who was excited about back to school clothes, although in Florida "Fall" wardrobe wasn't that different from Summer wardrobe.

So glad that Brooklynn decided to get the giraffe instead of the snake. ;)

I'd love a four day week. I've said that for years! Our district will never do that, though, because they feed so many of our kids free breakfast and lunch. They wouldn't want them to go another day without having good food or good supervision.

I bet those fall clothes get pulled out early enough up north, don't they?

Those mickey flamingos are great!!! I would love to have an entire flock of them for our yard. LOL!

I have my dates all messed up -- for some reason I thought you were all leaving today, and I hurried onto to the DIS to wish you safe travels. Of course, once I started reading, I realized you weren't leaving until next Friday, so I have another week to wait until I pull out the pixie dust to send you on your way.

You probably should pull it out next Thursday. I'm going down there in the morning. Jill and I are getting the van at noon. John will pack it in the evening, and then we're going to try to get a few hours' sleep. We want to be gone between 1-2 a.m. on Friday.

I plead guilty for one time putting a fake snake in the rafter of the girl's bunk at church camp. It was good for some screams.

I had nothing to do with the real snake that fell out of the gym rafter at camp onto the craft table, however. It was good for some screams, too. I didn't scream, but I don't think I'll ever forget that little thing dropping down onto the edge of the table.

Let your dad know we plan on seeing him on Sunday, July 3rd. That is our scheduled morning at Hollywood Studios.

Yeah, 'cause I missed good old Ed last time.

Thanks BrooklynnsMommy ! I look forward to having the link and following along. :)

Very close to shopping if you aren't too tired.

One of those Mickey knomes are coming home with me!
And I think the flamingo would look nice up here in Canada too!
I'll be sure to bring him in for the winter.

That's the plan - see all the new things in DTD, eat with Earl, and have an early bedtime. We have to be at Crystal Palace at 8:05 the next morning.

Or I guess I should say we get to be.

Good Friday morning everyone! Next Friday you will be on your way!!! That is awesome.
I hope you did not have storms last night. We have had bad storms all this week. Oh, by the way, the boys jumped off the diving board yesterday into 10 foot water and swam with assistance to the side. Needless to say, I was in shock.

Some of these storms have sure made their presence known this spring and summer.

Go, boys, go!!! Just keep swimming!

As always, great updates! Love how organized Jill is with packing! I'm organized, but I think i'm going to try her technique next time! You need to get the girlfriend to Disney World. ::yes::

The giraffe was pretty irrestible. ;) It would have been hard to leave her there.

Thank you for the wonderful F&G pictures. Someday, I want to take a trip during F&G, (and F&W, and Halloween, and Christmas...)

Are you ready to explode from the excitement of leaving so soon???:cheer2:!!!

You should experience every holiday and season in Disney World. Each one is a unique experience.

I'm just short of exploding. Ask me after the weekend. I'll probably be bubbling over then. Brooklynn was int he car this morning saying, "Space Mountain! Woo hoo!" :woohoo:

I think so, too! I really want to find them and put them in my dad's garden without him noticing just to see what he says or does -- he is very into what he calls his "super manly" garden and I would LOVE to see his reaction when he found pink flamingoes with Mickey ears in there! :lmao:

You need to get your dad to pose with his garden when you take pictures of it as the plants grow. I'm jealous of his green thumb.

Wow, with how busy you are your week is going to flyyyyy by! I can't wait to see updates and pictures on FB since I've only been back 2 weeks and have bad Disney blues already

I bet your excitement is brewing over, isn't it?

Your trip was so awesome; I know you never wanted to leave. I'm so glad you got your Poly pictures.

Okay, first:

HOORAY FOR SINGLE DIGITS!!!

I love to look at pins now. I take a lot of pictures, but buy very few.

It'll be a little bit of money - just a little bit - but we'll see. It will add up over the weeks, and it's just a trial run. I hope it works. Some of it will depend on how crazy my class is this year. I don't think I could have done it last year.

Shameless plug:

Hey MeMom, Jill and all their readers...

I started a "highlights" TR!! Here's the link:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2746719

Hope to see many of you over there!

I will be over there. :thumbsup2

Catching up :goodvibes

When I bought a big box of these at POP, the salesclerk joked that I could probably sell them for a huge profit...she's probably not that far off but I'm saving them all for me

When you are in the midst of a Disney depression day, you can pull one out and munch very slowly on it. :goodvibes

Maybe you can see it later on the UStream feed, if Dave tapes it. I'm sure they are incredible in DC, too.

In DIStown, I think the Homeowner's Association requires a Mickey mingo in each yard. :)

You know, I never got any pics in here. I always figured there would be another time...then suddenly there wasn't :sad2:

In all the time you have been posting pictures from POP, it still felt foreign...now it feels like home :goodvibes

I am very glad you liked it. We sure do.
I bet you can transport yourself right to those bus lines in that picture now, can't you?

Definitely try the cloudberry horn next time you have a chance, MeMom...so good! I do believe the middle is a cream! :thumbsup2

I LOVE your Flower and Garden pics...I don't know that I'll ever be able to make it for this festival due to my teaching schedule, so I love being able to live vicariously through your photos! :goodvibes

Brooklynn tickles me with her "Space Mountain! Woo hoo!" A girl after my own heart. One week now, Brooklyn! :woohoo:

Hmmmm, I don't think anyone commented on my mingos this afternoon...
The pool was full of splashing kids, the edges lined with teachers and school secretaries chatting away...
My pink friends are a little out of the way I guess....
I hope their feelings weren't hurt.
