Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Don't know why these quoted out of order, but they did.

Hmmmm, I don't think anyone commented on my mingos this afternoon...
The pool was full of splashing kids, the edges lined with teachers and school secretaries chatting away...
My pink friends are a little out of the way I guess....
I hope their feelings weren't hurt.

They came all the way from Florida to be ignored?
I don't think so. They need to be a focal point.

I'm glad you got to hang out with friends today. I'm sure everyone enjoyed it. :)

Love the topiaries and treats pictures!!

It reminds me that I have a TR going that I should get back to soon!!!

I have a welcome garden stone but mine is just grey. That one is cuter. Mine also is not in a garden. No one would see it! So it's on my front doorstep.

I have visions of having a pretty yard with nice landscaping and cute things...
but they never become a reality.

Definitely try the cloudberry horn next time you have a chance, MeMom...so good! I do believe the middle is a cream! :thumbsup2

I LOVE your Flower and Garden pics...I don't know that I'll ever be able to make it for this festival due to my teaching schedule, so I love being able to live vicariously through your photos! :goodvibes

I bet the girls would help me down a cloudberry horn.

I skipped school to go to Flower & Garden. :ssst:
We could have gone during my spring break, but Jill couldn't get off then, so I skipped and went when she could go.

Brooklynn tickles me with her "Space Mountain! Woo hoo!" A girl after my own heart. One week now, Brooklyn! :woohoo:

She seems to be looking very forward to riding it, but we'll see what happens when she gets there. She may decide to hang out with Bella and me in the arcade while Jill and John ride. If she does, I know I'll be getting a Space Mountain pin this time. :thumbsup2

My friend, Kay, called me on her way to work tonight. She was going to come by and cut my hair tomorrow morning, but needed to change it to Sunday afternoon. I hadn't talked to her in a while, so I asked about how her Willie Nelson concert was. (Her middle son took her for her Mother's Day gift.) She started off talking about Willie Nelson, then it went to the outhouses that were at the concert, then to Willie Nelson's past transgressions, to Sandy (don't ask, because I have no idea who Sandy is), to a coil on her car, to her daughter losing her camera, to UT's tuition going up 12% in the fall, to something her sister-in-law said about a flight,
to - and I am not kidding you here -
a boil on her ex-daughter-in-law's behind.

More than I wanted to know about the concert, for sure.

When she got to the boil, she asked me what she was telling me. :rotfl:

I went all the way back to the concert, really needing to get off that boil topic thing, but she had to stop anyway, because she had arrived at work.

Thank heavens.
I didn't really want to hear the details of the boil being lanced. :upsidedow

This is my friend. How she gets from Point A to Point B on a daily basis is still somewhat of a mystery.

That is hysterical!!:rotfl2:
Wow Kay sounds more and more like my mum each time I hear her name!:lmao: My mum has forever been in love with Willie Nelson! She also loves to talk about how "he is a bad boy but he has a heart of gold"....I got her tickets to see him earlier this year for....some gift-giving occassion! She would even choose him over Kurt Russell!;) She also likes to tell me stories about people I don't know...:rotfl: I sure hope everything regarding the uh...boil turned out ok! At least friends like that make you smile!:goodvibes

Oh, by the way, the boys jumped off the diving board yesterday into 10 foot water and swam with assistance to the side. Needless to say, I was in shock.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: You need a map to follow one of Kay's conversations. :rotfl2:

I'll respond to the rest later -- but I couldn't pass this one up!!! :lmao:

Kay sounds just like someone I know . . . umm, actually she sounds just like ME!!! :lmao: :lmao:

I'm soooo serious! I'm sure you can tell from my DIS reports, but everyone tells me that I start out talking about one thing & by the time I'm done with the conversation, I've talked about at least 10-20 different topics and they have no idea what we even began talking about!!! I love it that someone else in the world like me exists!!! haha!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I don't care who ya are...that's funny right there!

She is funny without meaning to be. The good thing is, she laughs at herself, too.

Willie Nelson over Kurt Russell? Definitely not for me!
I didn't even know Kay liked Willie Nelson, so when she told me about Joey's gift to her, I kind of wondered if the concert was really for him. ;) She said she began to like him in her old age. She did have a whole spiel about his pot-smoking, though.

I can't wait to have a conversation with Kay in October....:goodvibes

I don't think she said much at the Small World meet. She thinks it's a little odd that we meet up with people from on-line, so she was probably a little overwhelmed and just taking it all in. Maybe by October, she'll be more comfortable and you can get more of the real Kay.

Perhaps you should bring a notepad, just in case she really gets going good. ;)

There have been conversations where I have jotted down highlights just to share with Jill. :goodvibes

Kay grew up with three brothers. She will be happy to know she has a sister out there. ::yes::

By this time next week we hope to be driving through Atlanta at the very least.

I'll see what I can do about tossing some pixie dust on I-75 so your passage through Atlanta is quick with no rush hour traffic or road work! :wizard:

You probably should pull it out next Thursday. I'm going down there in the morning. Jill and I are getting the van at noon. John will pack it in the evening, and then we're going to try to get a few hours' sleep. We want to be gone between 1-2 a.m. on Friday.

I'll drag that big jar of pixie dust out on Thursday, then. Of course, I have the urge to just sprinkle pixie dust every day until then. ;)

We'll start with some, "One Week from today you will be in Florida..." Pixie Dust...

pixiedust:

One week from this morning, we will be leaving our DTD hotel very early, checking in at Pop, and heading straight out to a Crystal Palace breakfast. We'll spend some time in Magic Kingdom, then go back to Pop to get settled in our rooms.

One week from tonight, we plan to meet DIS friends outside Whispering Canyon Cafe, then go over to Hollywood to see Fantasmic.

Until then, we'll spend some more time in Epcot.

You couldn't really get all of them in the picture at once.

More things to buy.

IMG_1818.jpg

IMG_1819.jpg

Jill bought a very large pretzel for the girls to share.

IMG_1820.jpg

We went into the caramel shop, where I had planned to buy some caramel corn, but I just wasn't feeling it that day, so I passed.

IMG_1821.jpg

IMG_1822.jpg

IMG_1823.jpg

Then we saw No White.

IMG_1824.jpg

IMG_1825.jpg

For the picture, it was No Bella.
Sparkly Glitter was happy to be in the picture with Brooklynn, though.

IMG_1826.jpg

Maybe next time. No White is one of her favorites, and Jill thinks she understands it all better now. She says this is going to be the trip Bella begins to interact with the characters.

As Brooklynn says, Reepunzel's tower.

IMG_1828.jpg

IMG_1829.jpg

On to Italy.

IMG_1830.jpg

I had to at least step in here for a new picture or two.

IMG_1831.jpg

I want to try a Via pizza slice, but it will probably be at the walk-up. Then again, someone said they didn't think it was the same pizza, so that might not do me any good.

IMG_1832.jpg

I was trying to get a picture of the handsome waiters I have heard about.

IMG_1833.jpg

Out on the plaza, Brooklynn was the entertainment as she flittered around the stage.

IMG_1834.jpg

IMG_1835.jpg

Jill, I'll let you insert the video of that performance.

We had to say a quick hello and goodbye to Lady and Tramp and move on. The clock was ticking on our last day.

I think we'll be better if we leave closer to 1 than 2. If we leave at 2 and it take about four hours, I think we will get in a lot of traffic. I'm not driving, though, and I know they have to get some sleep. When I drove through Atlanta, we ended up leaving at 11 something, and we were going through Atlanta at 3 something. Even then, it was busy.

We'll take all the pixie dust you can sprinkle for our travels. We hope to get there in time to spend some good time in Downtown Disney Friday night and still get in bed pretty early.

Hurrah for the one week from today game!!!:yay: You girls must be getting excited!

Regarding Via, you heard correctly. For some reason, the pizza served at the takeout window is not the brick oven pizza you would get inside. :confused3

So excited for your trip!!

:cool1: WOOT WOOT it's the one week game!! LOVE the one week game :cool1:

That is a shame about the pizza at Via....maybe it doesn't keep well or something but still...I have heard good things about the pizza in the restaurant and of course the waiters LOL :rolleyes1

Umm passed on caramel corn :scared1: I think I'm bringing a few more gallon bags with me in October to take more home with me! Less fudge more caramel corn LOL!!!!!

Yay for the "one week from today" game"! So exciting!
The Kay story is hilarious. I still do not know how UT's tuition hike and Willie Nelson have anything in common.:rotfl2:
Brooklyn is so cute showing off her moves!

Pat- thanks! I knew you would understand how much progress that is in 4 days.

Hooray for one week!! :cool1::banana::yay:

And that was some super cute dancing. I don't know what it is about that "stage" but it seems to be impossible to resist a quick dance...or two...or ten!

My kids asked ME up there last time, DH somehow managed to avoid an invitation to dance but came up their anyway. So if anyone saw a family of lunatics cutting a rug in Italy during the first week of January this year...that was us. :rotfl2:

I'd love a four day week. I've said that for years! Our district will never do that, though, because they feed so many of our kids free breakfast and lunch. They wouldn't want them to go another day without having good food or good supervision.

Does your school stay open for the kids to eat during the summer MeMom? My SIL works at a school where almost all of the kids are on the free lunch program. They stay open all summer long through lunch time so that the kids can walk to school and at least have 2 meals a day. They also have a 'backpacks for kids' program during the school year where the kids get a backpack on Fridays filled with food for them to take home for the weekends.

How fun that you've started the 'one week from today' game!! :woohoo:

Yay for being down to one week!!!
I love the video of Brooklynn dancing in italy!! Break a Leg today, Brooklynn:banana::banana::banana:!! I miss having dance recitals, loved all the excitement of make-up and costumes!!!

I looked at my countdown today.....I have 86 sleeps left.... you have only 6!!!! :thumbsup2

Which DTD hotel did you pick to stay at?
I've never really looked at any of them before.
So convienient to just cross the road and not have to find a parking spot or ride the bus.
I bet dinner is planned for EoS...;)

Cute video of Brooklynn dancing! :goodvibes

:rotfl2:....Kay is such a hoot!

:simba:Good Luck Brooklynn at your recital! You will be a great dancer! :simba:

I was cracking up at the conversation with Kay, especially the fact that she had to ask you what she had been talking about at first! :lmao: My grandmother is kind of like that, only she just keeps on saying crazy things, knowing exactly what she is doing, and I can never remember exactly how it started. A couple of days ago, she called my mom to tell her that my uncle left a bundle from her on the porch, only she said "Whitey Bulger left you a bag on the porch!" I think this was the day after he was finally caught. Not sure if he is as well-known (infamous, really) in other areas as he is here, but it was hilarious that she said that. She really comes out with some of the craziest things.

I love the "one week from today" game! Hope Brooklynn's recital goes well!
