Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Memom- glad all is well and congrats on the Y job. Disney money is a good thing!!
Jill- you did a great job packing. I am going to try the ziplocks for DS3 this summer. DD12 might not go for me picking ot her clothes anymore. pre-teen girls. :lmao:

Anyone going to see Cars 2 tomorrow?
Have a good day. Gotta run over to Jen's report and see if shopping picks are up.:thumbsup2

Caught up now!

Jill you are sooooo organized. But, looking at your day to day doings you have to be with working and all the things the girls are involved in. If you lived closer Brooklynn would be more than welcome to come over to my house and show off her swimming skills in our pool. And I'm sure Ty would love to "jump" in the pool holding Bella's hand. (I spend much of my pool time waiting on Ty to jump in so I can put him back up over and over to jump again. WHEW!!!) By the way...took Ty for his 2 yr check up a while back (he turned 2 April 8th) and he was 26 pounds and 36 inches tall. She said he was in the lower end for weight and higher end for his height, but he was doing fine. He just runs, jumps and climbs constantly. We just got back from Gulf Shores and he did great riding in the car. I was worried because he is so high energy and it is a 9 hour drive with stops. But, he did great we watched Toy Story 1,2 and 3 over and over. Even at the condo....he would say I want Woody. So he still very much a Woody and Toy Story fan. And he watched OSO on Sarah's phone also....big lifesaver in resturants. lol So if y'all run into Woody again while at Disney tell him Ty says HI!

MeMom, I know your excited to be in Disney with all your girls soon. Toss that quarter in the water at WL if you can. July is the month we've been waiting for after my DIL's surgery. So do your magic. LOL
I'll be following along on FB. My cousin and his family will be at POP for the first time starting the 4th. I wish I was going too, but I will be back someday I'm sure. Have a great time!

Good morning! Memom, I hope your job is great and it helps you finance your DISease! Funny thing about the DISease, I started working on Jason yesterday. I told him the benefits of an AP. I think it would save us money since we will be taking an 8 night trip in September and I am sure at least one more 7 night trip. He laughed and said I was relentless. He told me that we would be in Orlando every weekend if I had an AP. His excuse was that I would say "but it is so cheap since we have an AP". Okay, he is not that off in his thinking, but I am working on him. I saw a glimmer of resolve yesterday. I will keep you posted.

Those AP's are dangerous - and delightful. :goodvibes

My plan for the little bit of Y money I will get is to split it in half. I'll put half in my Disney budget and half on bills. Of course, any time I ever plan on having a little extra money, something (car troubles, house repairs, etc.) comes along to claim it.

Since MeMom is asleep right now :) I will come and start this party. One week from today she will be here. We will be picking up the rental van and loading up. After a few hours of sleep we will be headed out in the middle of the night!!!!!

Either asleep or at Walmart already getting paper plates, moleskin, hairspray, and ponchos. Except for it was a fail on finding the ponchos, as you already know.

One week from right now, you and I will be being silly, I am pretty sure.

Once again I am jealous of your ability to take all these trips to WDW. I guess it pays to live closer.

Hope your week flies by.

The drive is not bad if you break it in two, but it looks like this time we're going the whole nine yards. We were going to stop in southern GA, but Jill and John felt like we could make it the whole way if a lot of it was in the middle of the night. John got us a room, but it wasn't in southern GA, it's at Downtown Disney! We'll get there in the afternoon, go to DTD, get in bed early, and be ready to check into Pop early the next morning. :)

Wow, Jill!! I had heard of the ziploc bag packing but had never seen it. That looks awesome!!! Really wish I had known about it when Jeremy was little. We will be seeing you soon!!!

She's got a huge part of her packing done. I think she said she was going to work on grown-up packing this weekend.

Sounds like a busy week!!!

We have our annual town fair this weekend, with family coming into town so that will be fun! Then next week is like yours - pack pack pack & get ready. We're rolling out at the crack of dawn on Saturday!!!

It's pretty exciting to think that we will be immersed in the magic next week! :wizard:

Jill, it's so nice to hear from you. I haven't seen much of you on here lately. But after reading about your upcoming week's schedule, I can see why! And congrats on packing up the tootcases! That's when it's getting so close, you can taste it! I can't wait to see the girls in all their cute matching outfits that I know are packed away in all those ziploc bags!

Congratulations Memom on your new job! I am really excited for you! Maybe if it does turn out to be too much, you could just try cutting back your hours some first and see if that helps. I know some days will seem overwhelming, but I think it might work out for you. I don't know how big your Y is there, but ours never seemed to have many kids in it when I would go, so maybe it won't be too bad. At least you won't have to really do a lot with them like at school, so that should give your mind a bit of a rest. I mostly saw kids playing video games whenever I peeked into the childcare at our Y, and they usually had a baby or two. Best of luck, and keep us posted on how it goes!

Oh, I just had a thought... you won't have as much DIS time now with an extra job... Hmmm, maybe it's not such a good idea after all!

I'll have a little less DIS time, but a little more Disney money. :thumbsup2

Jill- Packing makes it so close, doesn't it? I want to pack now--but it is just a wee too far and we have a week at the beach in between.

Memom- congrats on the Y job. I think your attitude going in is great. It is certainly worth it to see if you can handle the schedule. You are going to be very busy during the week!

Yes, I think the weeks will be very long. I will appreciate my weekends even more. At least every other Saturday and after one on the alternating ones. :goodvibes

Congrats on the new job...it's perfect for you! You will be a great babysitter!
I hope it's not too much but I know you will adjust it if need be.
Extra $$$ coming in will be wonderful.

I've often toyed with getting a partime job myself but I really can't because my hours can be all over the place.
Not to mention I need to be at home sometime.
Besides the "tax man" would take so much of it that it wouldn't be worth it.

Hi BrooklynsMommmy !
You are so close now! So excitting to be able to say...this time next week! :woohoo:
Cute little matching outfits all layed out and ready to go...into those suitcases.
Great idea to put them into ziplocs! Very organized! :thumbsup2
I did that when Lexi was small and I would put her hair bows in there too.
Everything for the day...made it so quick to get ready.

Can I please ask a favor of you? Would you please put up a link for us non-facebook friends again?
I so enjoy the pics of the day...makes me not miss you guys so much!

:rotfl2: comment about John packing the van! If it makes him happy, let him do it.
My DMom is the car packer in our family...going is not a problem but coming home she really uses her skills to the fullest!

Oh I checked the SW sale...this may sway me to try flying down in September.
It would be excitting to have a 5hr drive and then a 2hr flight....beats a 24hr drive.

It will be better for John and for us if he does that job alone.

I'll make sure Jill sees this and knows how to get pictures where you can see them.

MeMom - hope the Y job works out for you. I've been contemplating a 2nd job, but mostly because I could be laid off due to government shut down in a week. I think I'm going to look into the travel industry...

Jill - Holy Cow - super organized and CUTE outfits for the girls!! Not that I expected any less, but YAY for packing! I wish I were going somewhere this summer. (see the above comment as to why not)

I've been trying to find a second job that works with my schedule for a while, and this one looks like it will do. I'd love to be a Disney travel agent, but then again, I really want to keep Disney my fun thing and not my work thing.

I hope the Y job ends up working out for you! I'm glad you found something where they were willing to work on hours with you.

Can't believe you guys are just one week away! I'm so excited for the Facebook pictures!

I wanted to be very honest at the interview. I told the lady up front what I could and couldn't work, and I told her about my already booked trips. She said they have enough people that everyone can pretty much just make their own schedule.

Jill, you make me tired just reading about what all you do. You and Memom definitely deserve a break.

Jill sure does. I guess I more 'deserve' mine during the school year. I am having some good relaxing time now, so I don't feel like I have to have a break now or I will explode, like I do during school.

Holy Cow Jill you are well organized! Your "tootcases" will be very easy to navigate in the mornings! That's really smart to put the girls extra outfits into freezer bags! I'll have to remember that if I ever go with kids!

MeMom - the job at the Y sounds fun! I hope it works out!

I can't wait to hear about Brooklyn's recital! Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo would be a very fun song to dance to! I bet she'll be the star of the show!

I look forward to seeing my little fairy godmother granddaughter do her thing Saturday evening. :lovestruc

I am definitely envious of your super-amazingly organized packing skills! The girls' outfits look adorable too! How fun you're so close to your trip!!

Jill's organizational skills have always been a strength with her. She managed the varsity boys' basketball and baseball teams in high school. She was a godsend to those coaches, and they knew it and said they couldn't make it without her. As a church camp counselor, she had everything organized for her girls, too, and always had nice little gifts for them. She's a good one, that girl. ::yes::

Yes it will especially if I have to look what Jillyb put up on my TR.

I am offically booked for Oct!!! Flight wise the SW deal made it happen. Can't beat a $40.00 flight with free luggage.

The sacrifice I made is driving to Greenville SC to get the flight but it is worth it.

I'm glad you got booked, and I'm really glad you got that great deal! :woohoo:

Memom- glad all is well and congrats on the Y job. Disney money is a good thing!!

Have a good day. Gotta run over to Jen's report and see if shopping picks are up.

I don't think we'll be seeing Cars 2 on the big screen. Brooklynn already has too much going on this weekend. I guess they might go with friends if it's still out after the trip. I'll wait until it comes out on video.I

Daisy isn't into Garanimals any more, huh? ;)

I will toss some coins in for you. I know how much you guys want another baby in the family. Maybe we'll see your cousins at Pop. If you text with them while they are at Pop, text me and let me know. If we're 'home', we'll go out and meet them.

I'll see if I can find a postcard with Toy Story stuff on it for Ty.

Jill- I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one who packs my outfits in labeled ziplock bags!

More Flower and Garden Festival fun.

I think this shirt would be better without the very large bug shadows.

I kind of wanted this, but I don't have a pretty garden to put it in.

And I wanted one of these.

I might be able to grow a cactus garden, but any other kind of plant fears me greatly.

These were very interesting.

Anyone up for a tasty treat from Norway?

I usually get a schoolbread or an almond pretzel if I buy anything from here, but I have read many reports that say the Cloudberry Horn is very good. I'm not big on frosting, but if the middle is more of a cream than a frosting, then I might give it a try.

Jill, you'll have to remind me of the name.

Of course, any time I ever plan on having a little extra money, something (car troubles, house repairs, etc.) comes along to claim it.

I know the feeling (as you can see by my tag) :upsidedow
Now I'm gonna go knock on some wood because it hasn't been too bad lately!

The middle of the cloudberry horn is indeed a cream, I never would have been able to finish one if it had been frosting. Give one a try MeMom - they're yummy!

Love the panda topiaries  And Brooklynn looks like a natural model posing in front of them :goodvibes

I tried the cloudberry horn on our January trip and it was quite delicious. Having said that however, I never would have been able to finish one on my own so thank goodness for DH's and DS's who are willing to take one for the team and finish my treats for me. :thumbsup2

I am hoping that we WILL be able to go to F&G 2012 but I won't know for certain if that's going to be possible for a few months yet. I'm saving up for it though...well, actually I've been saving up for an August/September 2011 trip but it's not looking good at the moment logistics-wise. :sad2: So, if we can't go this August, then we'll be looking at beginning of February or end of April 2012 which would be F&G and would cheer me quite nicely if this end of summer trip falls through.

Those pink flamingos are TOO CUTE! I may just have to bring a couple home with me if we ARE able to make it down next spring!

I love the Epcot pictures!! I visited my first Flower and Garden Festival a couple of years ago and can't wait to go again!!
I don't have kids yet and I still pack my clothes in bags, after a bottle of shampoo exploding its much easier!!!
Your trip is getting so close!!!

I see a few things I would like to have. I like the Welcome rock with Mickey and DH really wants the pink flamingos. He loves those things.

The treats look very yummy! Ben and I are spending our anniversary in Epcot without the kids (shhh....don't tell them) and I need to make a list of the yummy treats we should try.

Brooklynn looks like she is having a great conversation with her new giraffe friend. Too cute!

I have had a busy day. I also went to the Y and applied for a job in the Kid Play section. I told them I wanted very much part-time, because I have my full-time job plus my T-Th tutoring. She said they'd be glad to have me. I told her I could not start until August, so if I don't change my mind, I'll be working 4-8 Mondays and Fridays, 1-3:30 on Sundays, and 8-1 every other Saturday. We'll see. It looks doable on paper, but with being at school at 6:30 a.m. and staying until 5:30 on the tutoring days, I may decide it's too much pretty quickly. Time will tell, but it will help. I can put half on bills and keep half for Disney money. It doesn't pay much at all, though, so if it is at all a hassle, I won't feel badly about letting it go. I'm hoping it'll work, though, and just be an easy way to pick up a few dollars.

I am going to bed now.
zzzzzzzz.....zzzzzzz......zzzzzzz

Megan and Keeley both have part time jobs at the Kid Zone YMCA here in our area. No it doesn't pay much but they can take their kids if necessary so that's a perk for them! I hope it works out for you, extra Disney money is a good thing!

IMG_1787.jpg

I thought one of these would have been lonely, so two of them came home with us on our Spring Break trip!

Jill, I packed for Harper using the ziplock bags and it worked very well! The only thing I didn't do was label them with a date...

Brooklyn is definitely a smart girl for picking a giraffe over the snake! Snakes just aren't right...blech! The picture of her talking to her new friend is absolutely adorable!

Someday when I have a lovely garden I want all of those garden accessories! Alas....I have a black thumb so that day is not likely to be soon...:upsidedow

I love those garden flamingoes! Kinda makes me wonder what my dad would say if I managed to sneak a couple into his "Boston gahden"...:rolleyes1

I love those garden flamingoes! Kinda makes me wonder what my dad would say if I managed to sneak a couple into his "Boston gahden"...:rolleyes1

I say go for it!!! They are so happy here in their Kansas home, I'm sure they will think Boston is marvelous!!!

Yes, those strangely out-of-proportion bugs on the F&G Tshirt are a little creepy. And ohmigoodness, those Mickey gnomes are just hysterical. Just might have to kidnap one if they still have them next F&G. DH has banned flamingoes, but he hasn't said anything about gnomes ... ;)

Yay for more Disney $ -- and for being ready to say no to a 3rd job if you find it's just too much. Sometimes just knowing you can say no helps to make a situation more tolerable.

And yippee for having the 1st tootcase packed! IT must feel like you're halfway there already. Hurray for a busy, fun week to make the time fly! :cheer2:

Hello!!!

I am happy to see that Brooklynn chose the giraffe and not the snake. I am not a big fan of snakes. Not at all. Ick!

I loved seeing your Flower and Garden Festival pics. Good memories!

And the talk of Schoolbread is making me drool. Yum!

My sister told me that her school district was talking about only going to school four days a week, she's said everything will be rushed and she's not happy about it. not the response you expect from a senior huh? ;) Sure, I liked (sometimes loved) school too, but by the time my senior year rolled around I couldn't wait to be done. :rotfl: Speaking of which, I was another child who was excited about back to school clothes, although in Florida "Fall" wardrobe wasn't that different from Summer wardrobe.

Congrats MeMom on your new PT. Hope everything works out for you. :thumbsup2

Jill, I may have mentioned it before but I love how organized you are. Sounds like you have quite the busy week. Good luck to Brooklynn at her recital on Saturday. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I'll be following alone via Facebook (no magical you'd rather be here texts for me this time because I'm without a phone for a little while) I did tell my dad you about meeting up with you all on the 4th. I'll remind him again.

So glad that Brooklynn decided to get the giraffe instead of the snake. ;)

Those mickey flamingos are great!!! I would love to have an entire flock of them for our yard. LOL!

I have my dates all messed up -- for some reason I thought you were all leaving today, and I hurried onto to the DIS to wish you safe travels. Of course, once I started reading, I realized you weren't leaving until next Friday, so I have another week to wait until I pull out the pixie dust to send you on your way.
