List update!

This week:

• haircuts for me and L - check! for me, Lionel's is Thursday
• pedicure - most likely Friday. or Wednesday. maybe both.
• finish last 2/8 articles - check! all sent
• send invoice for project with note stating I will be out of town for a week - Thursday or Friday
• print and sign cruise forms - check!
• pre-cruise laundry - Thursday
• segregate cruise clothing - I have started this.
• clean like there is no tomorrow - I have started this as well.
• PACK!!!!!!! - Thursday and Friday
• say hello to Sarah when she arrives late late LATE Friday evening, and promptly fall asleep - you guessed it, Friday!

In case anyone is wondering what I am looking like these days.....

Let's be honest, though. The only way I am going to look like this again is if I bring my stylist along with me, and frankly I can't afford him AND my spa habit. Though he did seem pleasantly surprised that I own a flat iron, something you would not guess given my usual dowdy demeanor I suppose.

I'd post one of Lionel after his cut, but he always looks the same. Men.

Speaking of spa treatments.....I am considering cancelling my cabana massage. WAIT WAIT WAIT! Before you throw me under the bus, listen to my explanation! I have this fear that six days of sunshine will make an oily backrub a much less pleasant experience than I am hoping for. That combined with the stinky rotten week I am having (which involves unpleasant procedures amidst lots of work meetings) has begged me to ask myself why I am not taking advantage of the embarkation day specials and pampering myself the minute I step onto the boat?

Hmmmmm?

So here's the plan: I grab Sarah and we head to the spa. We book something delightful while the boys fiddle with the Palo brunch reservations. Does that sound like a win-win situation or what???

I might still keep the cabana appointment. I might, however, pop on to DCL's site right this minute and see what else is available. I might, in fact, book something ridiculously expensive and indulgent for every single day, and worry about the mortgage later, when the people come to try and take my house. PRIORITIES!

I was wondering about the massage idea myself. However, unless I pre-book it, there's no way that I'll be able to convince Mat to come with me. And you have MUCH less to worry about in terms of the sun + back thing than this canuck from the great white north. Sadly I'm still mildly rocking the weird leg tan thing from the last time I cruised

Haircut looks great! I really should be doing that pre-cruise but i figure if i get it cut i'll be that weird in between length again so tying it up will be harder. If i wait till i come home to get it cut then i can spend no time on my hair the entire cruise! Wash and pin up hehe.

I'm in the home stretch and all i can say is thank god. Secret mickey stuff still on my list of things to do, but other than that it's just laundry and packing on thrs night. The rest of my nights will be spent geeking out on Dr. Who and WOW *grin*


Posted..and completly forgot the MAIN reason I was going to post. Do let Lionel know that Brian's wedding (gnomey!) is on the saturday we get on the boat. Not sure if Brian sent him an invite or any of that jazz but i'm sure he'd appreciate an email or something from Lionel (and you!). i can hardly believe he's getting hitched!

We did get invited, yes, because we RANK. Lionel told him we'd be on the boat, and I told him he needs to come post nuptuals and stay at Chez Jacques so we can do the "Gnomey, you just got married! Now what are you going to do?" "I'm going to Disney World!!!!!"

Yep. You can pretty up my hair, but I'm still pretty much a dork.

FOUR MORE DAYS. Three for you! And I say, forget about the boys, let's just have girl's day at the spa they can go watch football or something

That is one of the most awesome things anyone has ever said to me. I think she's adorable. Too nice to hate, even though she has the best job in the entire world!

Ok everyone, I have officially entered panic mode. It started about 15 minutes ago when I was halfway through washing the living room floor. Hoover Floormate, have I told you lately that I love you? I do. Because of you, I can absentmindedly clean my floors merely by moving one arm back and forth lazily, leaving me plenty of time to daydream about all of the stuff I still have to do.

Like, go to Target again. I forgot something. And finish the laundry. And clean out the car to make room for umpteen suitcases. And go to work tomorrow. And hit the ATM for cash (something that is never in my wallet, ever). And get my pedicure. And finish cleaning the house. And pack!

Help. I don't even have time for Calgon to take me away! When am I going to find time to even eat dinner?

You know, I do this every single time. I whirl around the house like a little freaked-out tornado, and then by dinnertime I am looking around for something else to do because I'm bored. Can you tell I need a vacation?

Off to Target. Well, as soon as the floor dries, and I can walk across the hall to the bedroom, that is......

Well thanks to the wonders of public transit, i got home way late today because of subway problems. So i'm still finishing up laundry, packing and cleaning. However i DID find time to hop on WOW for a few while i was waiting on laundry....and i'll likely watch at least ONE espidoe of torchwood.

Did i mention i've now finished 2 seasons of Dr. Who?

I'm REALLY tired...but today was a happy day at work because a coworker gave me a mickey balloon in honor of me going on the cruise! woot!

So, I am alternating between being mellow and happy about vacation, and freaking out that I will (a) not get everything done (b) not have enough room in the luggage (c) be involved in some major catastrophe involving aliens and/or land sharks that might prevent us from making it to Port Canaveral before the rope drops.

In an effort to calm down, I am going to the gym. Which means even less prep time. Ack.
