Gee Whiz, we wish we had the time...wait, we do!!!!!!

Hey Snap. I will not let you go down in a sinking ship alone. I will never have a life so can always be depended on to stick around.

I have been self absorbed. Youngest son and his fiance have set a wedding time (not a date yet, but we are at least down to a month and year) and I have to plan and pay for the wedding. Having never done this, I have enlisted the help of my husband's ex-wife who is a great party planner (she does it for a hobby). I am so lucky that she and I have always gotten along marvelously (as does her husband and mine).

I need to have my blinds cleaned. I have silhouettes so they have to be professionally cleaned and it also means taking down all of the valances. That is way too much work for me. I bow down to you :worship: for taking on that project.

Hi, Snap!

Things are crazy around here. The puppies are trying to kill baby bunnies in the back yard. And, DD10 is desparate to save them. One has already been lost. We built a rock shelter around them that the puppies couldn't move. So, now they are trying to dig under it. And, I have hurt my back carrying a rock that was far too heavy for me to carry. The rocks are the leftovers from building our house, so some are pretty big. Stupid bunnies......

I almost could not get out of the bed this morning, every muscle is screaming at me "you idiot, what did you do to us!?". We leave on 12/11 for WDW and DH woke up sick this morning and I feel it coming on. :scared1::scared1: What time of year is the wedding? Sounds like you will have fun planning and looking forward to it!

Oh no, I feel your pain! (see above). What kind of puppies? My nephew has a dauschand that loves to hunt small animals. Hope you feel better soon.

Kerrie, sorry to hear about the back. Moving large rocks was probably not such a good idea.

Snap, the bride wants to get married early October at sunset. She wants an outdoor wedding with a candlelit reception. The weather is still pretty decent here early October so I think it's doable. My son only cares that the bride is happy (I taught him well).

So sorry to hear everyone is hurting. We, as women, need to be more careful of the things we do. I know for me, if I want something done, I want it done now. From my husband's perspective if the house isn't on fire, everything else can wait and get done at a later time. I remember being 8 months pregnant and flipping and turning my queen sized mattress myself, because I kept getting "yeah, I'll be there in a minute" or "uh, the game will be over soon". Then he got mad at me for not being patient and waiting. :rotfl: Thank goodness I didn't hurt DD.

I love parties Pakey and can't wait to hear all the details, if you decide to share them with us. I'm an obsessive planner, so that sounds like a lot of fun to me. I also don't have a budget to worry about, so I guess that might make a difference. ;)

I got married on October 3rd and had an outdoor reception - in NY! We had tents in someone's backyard and it was a little chilly!

My back still hurts and the bunnies are gone. Whether they were eaten or mama moved them, I have no idea. DH said its better that I don't know. I certainly hope they are fine, I don't want my pain in the back to be in vain.

I had to take my older dog to the vet yesterday. She developed some large lumps on her sides and one was oozing pus and blood. Lovely. The vet said it was weird and put her on antibiotics. The vet saying something was weird instills lots of confidence. Lucie is a weird dog, though. She used to have a large lump on the top of her head. We had it drained, but it came back. They removed it and sent it to be biopsied. They called and told me it was a testicular cyst. It seems she grew a nut on her head.

After baby bunny torture and murder and large, mysterious lumps, Pakey's hairless frou frou dogs sound kinda nice.

well if it was chilly of course you could see them..

oh...

wait...

TENTS.....thats different...

I was thinking of something completely different

nevermind.

Kerrie, ignorance is definitely bliss in that situation. Better to believe all the bunnies are running freely through the forest. And I'm sorry about your dog. Now I understand why your vet thought it was weird. ;)

GP, unless it was an evening affair, no I don't believe headlights would have been involved.

Kerrie, the nut head dog story sent me over the edge. Loud bursts of laughter emanated from my office.

I remember when middle son (actually the younger of my 2 stepsons) got married. He had outdoor wedding and reception with 300 guests on Oct 16th. It was kind of cool but with open bar, I don't think most guests noticed. They partied until some ridiculous hour like 4am.

I'm hoping by moving forward a few weeks, it will still be warm enough. It certainly was this year.

Oldest son had outdoor wedding and reception too but his was in Maui where it's always warm. I tried to talk my son into destination wedding but they want to get married here. Dang it.

 Since we can't seem to coordinate vacations, and the Terror Turkey Smackdown didn't pan out, and Scotlass never did get back to us with her address , perhaps we can all meet at the Pakey festivities. I'll bring the hair and shoulder pads, and a nice pair of slippers for the bride. You guys fight amongst yourselves about what you're bringing. :dance3:

A quick pop-in -- I'm watching a Samantha Brown Disney show and she just took a picture of a giraffe's bahookie... "Best picture of a giraffe bum ever!" she said. Apparently nobody's ever given her the correct word.

Nothing else -- spent all of yesterday running the musician from far-away place to far-away place... hard on the gas tank, but fun to have him to myself for a while.

Erin

eta --just noticed that my picture is gone! Wonder if I've been away from Photobucket too long.

I can bring a rock from the yard. I'll try not to hurt myself again. I can even draw a face on it, I just don't know if it could match Pakey's mil's artwork.

We're watching, too! DD2 is madly in love with the castle. :cloud9:

Too many jokes....too many jokes !! :scared:

Canny put money on a nice day in Scotland even in summer so we got married in Dom Rep....:cool2:

C'mon, scotlass, see if you can tell me one I haven't heard!

Pixiedust :wizard: for your DH on the job front. Hopefully, he won't get in your hair too much. Last year, when my DH had an unexpected 7 weeks home from work, I actually enjoyed him getting in my way. :goodvibes

Morning Ladies (and GP, if you're here).

Sorry to hear about DH's last day Scotlass. Sending prayers and pixie dust your way that something better comes along very soon. Don't know how prisons work in Scotland, but if you kill him, I'm pretty sure they revoke your DISing privileges.

Morning all. Everyone can come to the Pakey bash, if it pans out. They are already fighting and it's only day 3 since they decided to have a wedding here. The fiancee says if she can't invite 60 relatives, she's not having the wedding. Hello. Maybe one of those 60 people would like to put a few dollars into this function????

And Kerrie, just think, you'll get to go through this 5 times. :rotfl:

Erin, nice to see you drop by. Don't go getting a life on us.

Scotlass, I'm sending all the good thoughts I have across the ocean to ya. I love my husband dearly but we test our patience on a week's vacation; couldn't imagine us being home together. I'd have to hire Kerrie's DD2 to come get him in line.

I almost had a life today.... I helped decorate for tomorrow night's HS madrigal dinner! I actually saw and interacted with adults! Woweee! Although I guess the flipside is that this was for DS's activity, so is that really a life? And since I'm being philosophical on a Friday night, what actually constitutes having a life? I know what it isn't, since I don't have one, but I'm not sure how much out of this boring comfort zone I'll have to go to get one.

Scotlass, I've had my DH around too much to enjoy it -- for us, like this year, it means no Christmas presents, eating too much mac and cheese, and having to barter accounting services for tickets to the above-named madrigal dinner. If you don't have to worry about the mortgage, I'm glad for you! But I hope he finds something soon if that's what you need.

Just watched the new Disney special about preparing the parks for Christmas -- now I'm sad. I'll just have to resolve to save my pennies and go at the holidays, maybe in two years! Who wants to come with?

Erin
