We'll be at DH's sister's house. She has opted out of turkey, in favor of steak and a small chicken. I'm up for anything I don't have to cook. I am bringing a cake, though. Horribly fattening and delightfully delicious. It is called Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake.

Now that the kids are grown, my husband and I do not do holidays of any kind. We will be at the movies enjoying obscene unhealthy popcorn and raisinettes. We will be seeing something sappy and sentimental like Ninja Assassin or 2012. We already know that on Christmas day, we will see Avatar.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'll be around all weekend, in between decorating the house and putting up the tree.

This year I'm thankful for all the people who live in my computer (and the one who lives in Scotland 'cause now I got somewhere other than Disney to go on vacation!)

Since I'm the only one not doing the holiday AND THE ONLY ONE WHO TRULY DOES NOT HAVE A LIFE (yes, the rest of you are posers), I'll post and talk to myself.

Snap, yes, it's great to not have to do holidays but it takes a certain fortitude. Most people need and want their families in their lives; my husband and I are very independent and raised the kids to never feel obligated to spend time with us. I think two of the boys and their spouses may go to the movies with us later but it will be a last minute thing; we are not planners.

I turned down an invite to spend the day with my family; I have no idea if my husband's family called him (they call him at his business; never here at the house for fear I might answer the phone ). I scare them.
