Nice..... you know, a woman once explained the difference between boys and girls perfectly to me. "With girls you get the drama, with boys you get the trauma." My son is the only one I have taken to the er with an injury.

coles1mom, no problems last night. I had a free moment and made a post. Were there problems with the boards?

Morning all. I'd say woo-hoo its Friday except I have to work Saturday. :headache:

Helene, sorry to hear about your little guy. We managed to raise all 3 without a broken bone. Once, DS28 got hurt playing at a friend's and had a long gash in his leg. The dad called me to come get him and take him to emergency. When I got to the friend's house, the dad had bandaged my son's wound with kotex pads and black electrical tape. :scared1: I carried him into the ER with it proudly displayed.

OMG! That made me LOL! I was the person with the most broken bones in my family.. broke my wrist by falling backwards in 8th grade, 10th grade summer I managed to break both arms at once by falling off a roof (I was a smart girl!) and then 12th grade I fell while I was helping my boyfriend firefighter's mom (during a fire) and had to get pins (yes surgery) in my pinky finger...

So sorry to here about Aiden's injury. Why do children always break something right before summer?

I'm going to have to remember that one and share it with others.

Sorry you have to work on Saturday Pakey. Hopefully you're off for Sunday and Monday.

Just like a man to use kotex and electrical tape. I'm sure the ER nurses were quite impressed. :rotfl:

I do have a DD that goes against the "only boys" premise. When she was 5 she fell in ballet class and split her chin open. By the time the ER doctor got around to seeing us (about an hour or so after we got there), her bleeding had slowed so they used skin glue. Worked like a charm.

Then she fell off her scooter in 3rd grade and broke her wrist -- the day of cheerleading tryouts and the week before her piano recital. And, of course, it was May so we had to worry about the cast and swimming for a little while that summer. :rolleyes1

She also broke her toe at a sleepover (maybe you guys saw my post about letting her go to a hotel sleepover a while back?) Yeah well they were dancing around and she kicked the dresser. I downplayed it thinking it was just bruised, but we finally took her to the orthopedist about 3-4 weeks later. He took an xray and said he wasn't sure, but he assumes she broke it and it was mending on its own. Nothing you can do for a broken toe anyway.

The school nurse and I used to spend quite a lot of time on the phone -- she got hit in the face with a basketball in gym, she was bending over to tie her shoe and stepped on the hem of her skirt, tried to stand up, and smacked her head into the marble wall... you get the idea. :rotfl:

I broke my pinky finger, twice, but surgery :worship:

In our family, we definitely have lots of drama, 4 girls will do that to you. My son, well, when he was little we wanted to keep him in a helmet because he was constantly falling. As soon as one injury would start to clear, he'd get another. When he was 2, he fell at a store and busted his fore head open. Paramedics were called and everything. Head injuries sure can bleed! He still has a little scar, but it's not too noticible now. He's a bit more indestructable than he used to be. I do worry when he climbs the trees, though.

Hope Aidan heals quickly!!

My DD fell off her motorized scooter (like a vespa). But, it was her brother's fault. He kept driving his r/c car in front of her (even though he had been told numerous times to stop). DH carried her in. I was scared she lost some teeth since her mouth was bleeding so much. Arms and legs scraped and bruised, but no er visit.

I used to talk to the school nurse a lot about her, but no injuries. She has health issues.

Aiden, hope you feel better soon. Did you get a cool colored cast? White signs better:thumbsup2 Helene, any white hairs for you?

PK's, got one that gets hurt at dance class, you have Princess Drama Trauma.

Sanitary napkins, black tape=clean waterproof bandage:rotfl2: Kinda explains why he has the title of ex.

Smurfy, I like little blue people.

Kerrie, game board was slow, but the CB, unpostable.:confused3

 for Aiden.

"With girls you get the drama, with boys you get the trauma."

Totally agree.

I have...broken my wee toe running down stairs and last year broke my finger at Karate.

My sister...no broken bones.

BUT....................

My wee brother was run over when he was 5.

He broke his leg so bad he was in traction for 12 weeks, then cast for 8 weeks, then a wheel chair for 6 weeks.

He got back to school and within a week he had gotten run over again and broke his other leg.

6 months later he fell in the school play ground and broke his collar bone.

Then in his early teens he broke his arm playing football.

:confused3
