Nope that about covers it and I dont think I would have it any other way.. its a very peaceful place at least by me Our first block party is this weekend Firetruck parade tomorrow at 7:30pm then some YUMMY food! I honestly can't wait.

Your peace and quiet freaks me out. I'm a city girl and let me tell you, when my dog starts going ballistic and barking and the hair stands up on her back and I can't see what's outside because there are no streetlights? I don't know if it's a bear, a robber or somebody just walking by. It's so dark that you can't see 4 feet in front of you at night and that just creeps me out. I always feel like someone is standing just far enough away, staring at me. Believe me, I'm nothing to look at, but I can't shake that feeling. I guess it's what you're used to.

My favorite part of the Poconos on Memorial Day weekend is not only the parades, fireworks and firetrucks, but the garage sales. Apparently everyone puts out their stuff on Saturday and I can't wait to go shopping! Two years ago my MIL bought my DD a daybed for $5! Wish I could find another one.

I've never heard of garage sales on friday til someone posted it on the dis! I need to have a yard sale in the worst way!

ETA yes bears freak me the hell out... every spring one comes to my yard! I'm so afraid to let my dog out and night because of it! Last year Patrick let the dog out while the bear was in our yard! You would have heard me scream from here if I was the one who saw it!

Sorry, I meant that they the garage sales on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend (and the Saturday of Labor Day too). That's why I get to go because otherwise I'd be in work and not in the Poconos. You can get some great stuff at those sales.

One night DH took the dog out because she was barking like crazy. Next thing you know, I hear banging around outside. DH falls down on the stairs and the dog comes racing into the house trying to hide. There was a bear outside and the dog knocked him over trying to get back in the house first. So much for protection.

very far away from you and disney! Pocono's are in Pennsylvania. About 2.5 hours outside of NYC.

It is better than my plans for this weekend. DH is going 4-wheeling on Sat and the kids and I are staying home. Exciting..... I know. We do have the Almost There Fair tomorrow at the school. The kids should have fun.

I was watching the commercial for the new Jay Leno show last night and he asked a woman:

"Who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?" She had no idea.

Then he asked:

"Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?" You guessed it -- she knew it was Sponge Bob!

There are some cartoons that I like. I used to love to watch Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and Beavis & Butthead. Not exactly what they show at the preschools.
