Anyone taking a trip to GCV and DL in October? We'll be there 10/2 through 10/9! 61 days and 13 hours from now!
Hey on your first couple of days in the park try and wear red t-shirts!![]()
We'll make sure to run the dishwasher before we leave, just in case you get our 2bdr!Looks like we're going to be just missing you. We're going to be there from Sunday the 10th thru Friday the 15th, staying in a 2BD. We decided that for our first trip "home" (we also own at AKV, but haven't been to DL since we bought VGC), we're going to take our niece and nephew in addition to the four of us.
Can't wait!

Great idea!
You do know about this right?

I guess I don't! Tell me more, tell me more!
For two days in early October (10/2 for Disneyland and 10/3 for California Adventure this year), the Disneyland Resorts hosts (unofficially, I believe) Gay Days. Those in the LGBT community who attend (as well as those who support them) wear red shirts to show others who they are.
That's why we got some funny looks. My DW(34) and I (32), along with our DS(5) and DD(3), were all decked out in red shirts, which made for the odd-looking "gay" family.
Just to add... You can get more info here. www.gaydaysanahiem.com Last year they drew 30,000 people to the resort, so if you are wearing red you won't be in the minority! On another note... You can get discounted convention park passes through them that are good from nov30-oct13!

Thanks! The only thing that worries me are the crowds, we get in Saturday afternoon (late) and I was going to do DL on Sunday and we were taking a day trip to San Diego on Monday so maybe I'll swap those two days since it's probably going to be very crowded. I'll check out the website and see what events they're having where and then I'll have to see what that does to my agenda. 30,000 is ALOT! Good news is, should we stick with the original plan I have plenty of red to show my support!
I think that's September 30th - October 13th.
Saturday most people hit DL and Sunday is DCA. Saturday night there is a party at the House of Blues and an informal gathering at the Lounge in the Hotel. Sundays are normally crowded just because of AP crowds, but a drive to San Diego might take you as long as 4 hours to get back on a Sunday evening. Normally it would be 2 1/2 to 3 hours, but Sunday night you would get all the weekend traffic (which is worse than rush hour for that particular drive).
Wow - that long from San Diego huh? Thinking I'll go back to the original plan and just wing it at DL and DCA. Saturday evening we were going to go into Huntington Beach and Sunday DL so that will work! We'll leave Monday for San Diego then (but I'm not going to lie - 6 hours round trip in a car leaves for more driving than seeing and I don't know how I feel about that). BUT - I'm trying to make sure I calm down about traffic (can you tell I don't do well in traffic?) and just take it as it comes.
A normal drive to San Diego would be 90 minutes to 2 hours, but with heavy traffic (which is starting to be anytime at peak times) it usually takes about 3 hours. If you were driving down after work on a Friday or back home Sunday evening, that's when the traffic would be really bad because so many people from LA go to San Diego for a weekend trip. A Monday shouldn't be too bad except for between 3-7 in the evening coming home.
