Gay Week

Ok STOP!!!!!

The question is about crowd levels. This is NOT a debate board.

If you post following me on this thread and your post is about anything to do with the morality of homosexuality, who should see what or anything that does not respond to how this event affects crowd levels, it WILL be deleted without notice.

This includes responding to anything you don't like that was previously posted.

Seriously.

OK people! We just did this. This is a topic that will cause nothing, but fighting without any good outcome. Enough already.

Back to question at hand the crowds are not bad at all as long as you stay away from the park that is set up for that day. Also the only thing I found offensive last year was some choice of saying and pictures that were worn during gaydays.

....hmmm, anyone else feel a shut down coming?

Why can't we all just try to respect one another and try to keep our judgements at bay... please?

Last chance. If the thread can't stay on topic without espousing political views on either side, it WILL be closed.

I'm trying something new here. Rather than just closing the thread, I'm seeking people who have actually been there during these days, to share their experiences with crowd levels.

It's all in an effort have a useful thread rather than just bickering.... Let's see if it works.

We were there this past June. I was worried at first, since my DD (5) seems to notice and comment on EVERYTHING. I just wasn't ready to answer her questions at this time. We even thought about canceling...just didn't know if we'd get a chance to go back anytime soon. (DH had a meeting in Orlando...couldn't pass up the chance).

We avoided MK on Saturday. Other than that, we did whatever. We noticed no difference at all in the crowds in other parks or any behavior issues. My DD didn't notice a thing. We even had my overly religous MIL with us and she didn't have any issues either.

I wouldn't have any second thoughts about going during that time again.

well as i said in the other thread, i was there at MK on one of the days. didn't spend all day there but was there a good portion and it wasn't crowded at all, just a lot of red shirts.

That's the week that we go every year. The crowds are not bad at all. The lines are pretty short and the weather is fabulous!!! As far as it being gay days- you won't notice a thing. We have 3 small children and there has never been anything that we've seen that was inappropriate.

OK, I gotta ask. It is killing me! What the heck is arielcon?:confused3

i was there the week before once, and i saw crowds worse than this! the sidewalks are completely empty! now i am thinking that the beginning of june may not be a bad time to go...

When is BIGOT WEEK at Disney?

The lady asked a simple question. The other lady (BIGOT) had to come make sure that everyone knew she didn't want her children exposed. She could have kept her big mouthed opinion to herself, but nooooooooo... she had to make sure to inject her hate.

thank you.

it's a group of ariel enthusiasts. a relatively small group (about 50 or so?) they usually have annual meets at both disneyland (arielcon pacifica) and wdw (arielcon atlantica).

i remember one of them kept getting in trouble for trying to dress like ariel, even going as far as to sneak her clothes into the park so she could switch into them later.

Not a debate, just an honest question.....how is not wanting to expose your child to something make them you a bigot?

If that is not the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. :confused3

Change the word "gay" to "black", and then tell me what you think.

I went the first week of June several years ago. Crowds weren't that bad and saw nothing out the ordinary that would stop any person of any race, religion, sexual orientation etc from going that week! WDW is a melting pot for fun!pirate:

I have heard the crowds are not horrible, which annoys me because I would love to go the first week in June, but cannot because I do not want to expose my children to it.

Exposed to what? Two men holding hands? Don't worry, their eyes won't fall out.

Avoid cheerleading week then. You'll see far worse.
