Yes, it's legit and confirmed by Bill Condon. From what it sounds like, it's a minor sub-plot featuring
LeFou's infatuation with Gaston.

Gonna just throw that in spoilers to protect people who haven't read/don't want to read

Yes it is legit. From what the director has said there will be an obviously gay moment in the film from. It does not say exactly what the moment is.

link to the thread? I'm mobile its a pain to search. Lol.
While its really not that hard to search on mobile devices on this site I will say its good to have a thread on the news board for this since it is news.

Disney has always faced backlash for embracing the LGBT crowd, for lack of a better term.

I recall 16 years ago (man time flies), on our way to night of joy, there were protesters out trying to convince church groups to turn around. This was right after Disney really started ramping up the Gay days or whatever they are called (not sure what the official term is/was).

Good for Disney. I knock them a lot, but they've been a pioneer in this arena, and equality has always been high on their list.

Unless we are talking about economics :)

I haven't and this news has been out a couple days now. I think its too early to say if this will hurt them or not. In today's day and age more and more of this kind of stuff is happening and I don't see a problem with it.

I'm seeing it on FB more. It's where I found out about this actually. I figured it was just rumor like the Frozen bit.

Gay Days is not a Disney sponsored event.

It is an unofficial event.

It was the Southern Baptist Convention and a few others, if I recall, that cited the Gay Days as a reason for the boycott, as well as Disney's decision to allow for same sex partner benefits.

Being a gay man I have to say it bothers me. Not that the character of Le Fou is gay but how flamboyant and cliche Josh Gad is playing him. Granted I've only seen the "Gaston". Hopefully he's not that "prancy" the entire movie.
Well, in the animated one that scene had Le For a bit more flamboyant so my guess is they were just trying to capture that in the live action version.

I don't know if "thank you" is the right response, but I said the same thing in the other thread. Today was the first I heard of it, googled trailers, found that and watched it. Granted I know LeFou dances around in the cartoon, but it's the lying down tabletop pose and way he sits crossing ankles on bar.
