Yes, that is why I stated that some airlines have weight and size restrictions. American Airlines prohibits gate checking strollers 20 pounds or heavier, which seems like a good rule to me. You can still check enormous strollers, just not at the gate. I can't imagine traveling with a jogging stroller, unless I was going to participate in a race with a child. More sensible to purchase a lightweight travel stroller.

Unfortunately, some of us have very large children that overwhelmed the lightweight strollers as a very young age. The larger jogger is the only way the poor kid's shoulders would fit comfortably.
