I was thinking of buying gas cards for a couple of months so that we have kind of a savings account for gas before our drive to Orlando. I think I can buy Mobil and Gulf near our home. Are there many of those on the drive to Orlando from Boston?
thanks

You should be okay with them since Mobil/Exxon stations are all over. The only other big company is Sunoco and then probably local stations.

Instead of buying gas cards, buy pre-paid charge cards. Mastercard or Visa. Then you can use them at any and all gas stations.

That's a great idea,thanks!!

Just make sure you pay inside and not at the pump. Pay at the pump can sometimes authorize and place a hold on the card for $75 or more. That card won't be usable after a couple of fillups even though it should still have a balance on it. Shell and BP are also fairly common stations around thr country.

Personally, I would just keep the cash and pay that way. I drove down from MA to FLA and had to get gas two times along the way. First one was a 7-11 gas station in VA just past DC another was a BP station in the middle of nowhere, SC and then a Hess in the Orlando area. They don't have all those options up here in MA and you don't want to waste time trying to find a Mobil when you're in the middle of nowhere. I drove a Camry and got +/- 500 miles/tank as an FYI.
