Garden Grove at the Swan-TERRIBLE

I stayed at the Swan last year (the Swan is a lovely lovely hotel, we had a great stay so I disagree on that point) and we went to Garden Grove for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was very nice good food, good service. But the dinner was terrible!

The food selection at dinner was very poor, especially with me being vegetarian it was even harder to find anything to eat. I asked someone to perhaps show me what was suitable and what was not, as nothing was really marked and I swear they made the biggest deal over it ever. Like it was such a chore. Every other restaurant was very accomodating, just not Garden Grove.

They brought a salad over to the table, I guess they were trying to be helpful, but it was vile. Everyone from our party tried it and agreed it wasn't nice, honestly the amount of salt was almost mouth burning. I'm not surprised the place was dead. I wouldn't go again, it wasn't worth the money!

Thanks for the review. Guess I'll stick with Fresh and the Fountain for casual meals at the S/D. :thumbsup2

So, to synopsize:
. . . The restaurant in question changed (varied/updated) their menu selection some time in the last seven months.
. . . The OP equates this menu update to the restaurant being "terrible" (despite not dining there)
. . . Subsequent posters consider the experience 'disappointing' but not terrible
. . . A later poster, who did have a terrible experience, posts it.

If we take out everything except post number 21 - the thread is perfectly titled :teeth:

Sorry for the negative opinions on Swan and GG-sorry to offend anyone. This was just our family's very disappointing experience!
Maybe it is not good to share negative experiences on these board as people seem to get upset by this-I will only share positive experiences from now on.

I think you are taking this too personally. Everyone has their opinion and you posted yours. And others posted theirs. I too read the title and thought it would be a review of the food. I was surprised at the description of the Swan lobby as we've never really had a problem with it (and we walk through it A LOT). But then again, we've never just come from finding out that the menu we thought we were going to get for dinner was completely different.

Don't feel like you cannot post negative experiences. You had a negative experience. Maybe it was more of a vent than anything else, though. If we all only posted positive experiences, this board would be dead as humans don't usually report positives, only negatives.
