Garden Grocer?

Can someone please explain how it works. I am planning on bringing some snacks with us in our luggage. But now I'm thinking of ordering bigger, heavier items like water etc.

You just place the order on their website, and they'll deliver the order to your resort. If you are not there when they place the order, they can leave your groceries with bell services. If you are ordering adult beverages, you must fax your ID.

We've used Garden Grocer many times and have been pleased with their services. All of the fruit and bakery items we have ordered have been fresh and in good condition from Publix.

I'm interested in this service as well for arrival next week. I was thinking of just trying to pack some snacks. It would be much easier to have them waiting for us at the resort. My debate is the cost. Will it be better for me to buy the items at say Walmart box them and mail them myself vs paying Garden Grocers minimum and delivery fee? I will have to use UPS since we arrive next Tues and regular mail probaly won't get it there in time. Any thoughts?

We have used an alternative service, wegoshop.com 6 times and been very pleased with their service. Wegoshop does not mark each item up like Garden Grocer does.
They do not have a minimum order amount, but their delivery fee is a little higher. I think the cost of these 2 is comparable.
What I like about wegoshop is that I create my own list of items I want, I hate shopping "virtual aisles" like on Garden Grocer.
We order breakfast items, fruit, juice, soda, water, beer, wine, cheese and crackers and snacks. I believe we save the delivery fee just on the savings on the case of water.
Good Luck

I've used Garden Grocer too. Although a little pricey, it's a good service. If you are traveling with another family, you could both order and split the delivery fee. Just buying bottled water makes it worth it. You can also add on things like sunscreen. Basically anything sold in a grocery store can be ordered. I've also used a service called " we go shop" ...just like GG but lower delivery fee.

I have used WEGOSHOP also, and had no problems at all. I will use them again this year. The price of water from GG makes me choke! I'd rather pay the $20 delivery charge at WEGOSHoP and grocery store prices on our products, I find it more cost effective considering we get 6 cases of water!:scared1: I faithfully drink 3 bottles a day , so I order 1 case per person in our party, plus I also order water at quick service for lunch!

Thanks all. I will get my list together, compare the final totals and see which one is cheaper. I think this will be easier than packing them.

We used Garden Grocer last year, with positive results.

I would like to use them again for our trip next month, to have bottled water and breakfast supplies delivered, likely which will include perishables.

Here's my dilemma -- we will arrive at SSR around noon and check-in, but I doubt the room will be ready. No problem, we'll leave our bags with luggage services and head to a park, since we already have AP's. I could schedule an afternoon or early evening GG delivery, and return to the resort to go to the available room and collect the groceries at the same time.

But, does the resort guest services refrigerate delivered groceries? I doubt it. If so, I'll have to schedule a delivery time and be back to the resort in time for it.

Yes, the resort WILL refrigerate your items. I used Garden Grocer 5 months ago and could not have been happier. Originally, I swear, I was told I'd have to pick up my items in the lobby (stayed at ASMu for a dance competition). But all our food, minus the cold items, were waiting in our room when we arrived - it was great :cool1: Then I called the front desk to find out about my cold items and they brought them to me! And GG text and called me when the items were delivered (I was still in Michigan since we had a very late flight lol). I highly recommend them.
