What would you like to see in a games room?
UKDEB said:A pool table seems essential - if I saw a home advertised with a games room and it didn't have one, I wouldn't consider it to be a games room. Just about expectations, I guess. Air hockey is good fun. Table tennis would be great, too, but I don't think you should try to pack too much in - no point having a pool table if there's insufficient space around it.
I agree with the comment about seating. I spend hours (days, weeks) trawling the internet for the 'right' villa each trip. I discount most without seating in the games room. Having said that, I am very fussy - I prefer games rooms which are within the home rather than converted garages.
No, Lynn - hardly any!minnie29uk said:Have you found many Deb that arent in the garage...why do you prefer?
Id be scared of breaking a window if in a room in the house!?

UKDEB said:No, Lynn - hardly any!I suppose because I've been renting villas for several years and I always want something 'better' than the previous one. In my experience it's only the most upmarket homes which have the games rooms as part of the house. I really am getting too fussy. Each time I add one more 'must have' to my list. In some ways I wish I was embarking on my first trip with no expectations and simple needs.

The home we stayed at in January had an upstairs games room complete with a huge flat screen TV and a balcony overlooking the 8th hole of the Tom Watson course at Reunion. It's not available for our October trip, but after months of searching, I've eventually found a home on Reunion which I'm happy with. Until our January stay, I was happy with a converted garage as long as it had been properly converted (i.e. it didn't look like the inside of a garage when you were inside it). Now, not even that will do. So far, I've managed to resist the lure of home cinema rooms - I really don't need another 'must-have' to add to my already ridiculously long list.
