We are leaving Wednesday for WDW and taking my 2 nephews (6 & 8) who are bigger Star Wars fans than I thought. When I told them about “Star Wars land” their faces lit up. When I mentioned Blue Milk one of my Nephews started singing a song (about blue milk?) and he traveled with a baby Yoda. None of the adults are Star Wars fans, but have seen the older movies.

Plan is to do ROTR (and Star Tours) skipping Smugglers. Get Blue Milk. Take pictures. What else should we do?
We are not building lightsabers or droids (8 kids things get broken in their house, it won’t last.) Help!

There’s also green milk. Smugglers is pretty cool - if the wait time isn’t too bad, give it a try. (There’s a single rider line but not sure that’ll work for the 6 year old.)

Would also suggest getting a spira. It’s a cool souvenir and can be used at other locations. You may have to educate the CM on what it is, but I love using mine.

Try to snag a reservation for Oga’s. It’s very fun. Pricy but worth the experience.

Went last month with my kids, 6 and 9. They loved the blue milk, and they thought Smuggler’s was one of the top 3 best rides in all of WDW. They loved that ride so much (one was an engineer, one was a gunner). They still talk about it and they wished we could ride again and again. I would highly suggest that one! They liked it more than RotR, but I realize that is kid specific!

They also enjoyed seeing the characters about and about (we saw Chewie/Rey and of course the storm troopers). They also really loved sharing a Wookie Cookie. So delicious!

Would also recommend doing MFSR(It’s way better than Star Tours). If you download Play Disney app, you can solve puzzles that lets you interact with droids and the ships. See if you can pick up a Oga ADR the day before. Docking Bay 7 is cool place to eat.

Why are you skipping Smugglers if the kids are such big Star Wars fans they know things the adults don't? Just seems strange, as Smugglers , both the queue and the ride are something which really blow the minds of big Star Wars fans. The ship is such an iconic part of Star Wars and actually getting to ride in it and see it in real life , even small things like the chess in the ride loading area is something that Star Wars fans dream of.

Also you just need to let the kids determine what and how long you stay in Galaxys Edge. Having a check list, and then ok we are done will be such a disappointment to them. They will see things you wont, they will know the importance of specific items and themeing that you wont. They will want to spend time at locations and just absorb being in Star Wars world that the adults wont understand.

To really blow their minds, download the Play Disney App and let them use the Data Pad section. This is an interactive part of Galaxys Edge that most people dont do. You can use the App to decode the Arabush writing on the walls and signs, and go on missions and make things happen at specific locations.

We’re bringing our 4 year old granddaughter in August. She loves Star Wars but isn’t ready for the rides there yet. We have a Ren costume. Any recommendations?

Also, is Oga’s less bar-like first thing? I’ve only been at night and don think I’d be comfortable bring her based on those visits.

We had a 4:40 time and it wasn't too crazy. There were other children (not many) there too.

We went with our 3 year old before the pandemic. It was a fun experience. I think they took pity on us and gave us a table. We enjoyed the atmosphere, each had a drink, and left. Grabbed a coaster as a souvenir. Good times.

I don’t think we went very late. Bedtime was probably 7 or 8 back then.

Maybe look into building a toy lightsaber at the Star Tour gift shop? A fraction of the price of the ones at Savi’s and hours if not days of fun! My kids love having battles with them in our backyard, especially when it’s dark. They are toys, so not too fragile and retract.

You have to do Smuggler's. In fact, my rec is to do it twice so people can do different positions. If you're using Genie+, get an LL for it, and do the regular queue, which has lots to look at and moves pretty well. Depending on the size of your party, you might take up all six spots and get to decide solely amongst yourselves who does what.
Someone who travels with a Grogu will need a budget for souvenirs at the bazaar and/or the Star Tours gift shop. Building the ST lightsabers are a good idea. I also rec ST twice because it's low wait and every ride is different. Be prepared to buy an "I am the Rebel spy" tee if one of the kids gets picked as the spy on your ride.
Please let the kids' interest level dictate your time on Batuu. If you have Disney+, maybe catch an episode of "The Mandalorian" or "Kenobi" before you go, or better yet, watch "The Force Awakens" so you understand the part of the timeline Batuu is set in. Enjoy! Touring with people who are bigger SW fans than you are can be a good time.
ETA: I highly recommend Genie+ for DHS even if you don't use it anywhere else.

Smugglers is my boys favorite, who doesnt want to pilot the MF?
My boys really like shoulder pets... they are $20 or less
