Gail, you and Amanda are both just so amazing to me! I wish I had had the motivation to lose weight when I was her age. I am so proud of both of you! I am sure you will see that WOOSH next weigh in. Okay, now for the mushy part...thanks for being such a great friend...you mean so much to me even if we've never met. I know, I know...the hormones are kicking in early...lol!
 
Woo Hoo! Finally completed my August exercise goal! 1270/1250 minutes as of today! I still have 2 days left in August. This was such a motivator for me. My husband is now teasing me because I've gone over my "exercise minutes"...like one of the cell phone comericals.

Like I said..this has been an okay weekend and if I were to give it any :sunny: it would be a 4:sunny: weekend. Did my exercise, pretty much watched my food, but I did have 2 drinks Friday night w/ a friend and we shared an appetizer at LoneStar. I still don't feel I deserve Michelle's cheat free weekend clippie...even though I didn't really cheat.

Here's to another great week!
 
Good job Gail!! I just finished reading your journal and am very impressed on how you keep sticking with it. I just joined weight watchers and am very excited. I know how tough weekends are trying to stick with your diet, but your hanging in there.

I also enjoy reading about your daughter. I have a 9 1/2 year old daughter who weights about 110 now. She was very skinny up until she reached about 7 1/2 and then went through a huge growth spurt. She's very tall for her age (90%), but the weight is up there too (over 90%). I'm a little hesitant about getting her started on dieting, but am encourging her to eat healthier and keep active. I hope your daughter keeps up the good work and feels good about her accomplishments :sunny:
 
Way to go Gail,,, you did great with the challenge. Just tell your DH that you have the roll over plan so it will not cost you anything. You should get a good laugh on that one. Sounds like you did really good this weekend, so keep it up. You still have to have some fun.

Today is a beautiful day! Went for a walk with a good friend today. It was so nice out...and what made today even better...the kids are back in school!!!

Not much going on today. Went for a 40 minute walk outside this morning. Then hit the grocery store. Went to lunch at Chick fil a. The new challenge starts tomorrow!

Today is the start of the new exercise challenge...I got in 65 minutes today! I bowl every Wednesday...so this will be a bonus for me. I'm not going to count any of it toward my challenge minutes...but I know I'm still doing something.

Today was Amanda's weigh in...she is still at 116.5(after she lost the pound from last Wed)...she's still down 9.5 lbs. She was wanting to lose that .5 and be at 116 today. I told her it will come. She's been doing so good. She is at the 6 week point and still determined to lose! We don't have any Labor Day Weekend plans...so hopefully it won't be so bad as far as food.

By the way...a friend called last night and I went for another walk last night for an extra 55 minutes after the original 40! How long is it before exercise becomes a habit???LOL!!
 
I already saw that you & Michelle have posted minutes in the September challenge. Good for you! I think you should count the minutes bowling....people have been counting minutes from all kinds of exercise.
 
Never thought of counting bowling. I will be starting both my leagues next week. I guess I could give myself a 30 minute credit at least;)
 
I agree with Rae Ann, you guys should definitely count the bowling! If that isn't exercise I don't know what is! I think Disney needs to install a bowling alley, that would be such a fun addition to Downtown Disney! I stink at bowling but I still love to do it! :teeth:

Gail, you and Amanda are both doing excellent! Way to go on the first day of the exercise challenge and also on that extra walk last night!
 
Your doing so so so good. Count the bowling. You should be so proud of yourself with doing the extra walk. Take care.

Nothing exciting...got in 35 minutes of riding my stationery bike. My lower body was screaming at me today before the bike ride. I felt everything last night when I went bowling. Calfs, thighs, butt! At least I know I worked them! I wanted to get in some exercise today...but not wanting to do much...so I rode the bike.

Food has been fine this week. As I said...not much to report!

Tomorrow is weigh in..until then...have a great day!
 
DE - I can only imagine how sore I will be when we start next week after not bowling all summer. Better start cutting my nails down now :D

Weigh in...no loss! But I lost another half inch in the hips and waist! As long as those are still going down...I'm not so pressed about the weight. I keep thinking...muscle...muscle...muscle!! I hope anyway:rolleyes:

I did lift weight this morning for 20 minutes and went out for another walk for 50 minutes...lots of hills!! So another 70 minutes in for today...I'm going to work half a day today...for third grade. Have a good Labor Day Weekend everyone!
 
Great job Gail! I agree with you, as long as those inches are going down, the weight will soon follow. Keep up the great work!
