I've been reading on here miscell. points about tolls from the airport, tolls on other roads, and I can't get a firm grasp of what roads around the area are toll roads? I mean, I can certainly find out if we're taking a direct route from MCO to our resort, however, we plan to do some driving around.

Little story: last time we were at MCO, I had a resurgance of a bug. Husband had to go rent a car just to go to the pharmacy. In this process, he ended up having to run a toll he didn't know existed and, in his own words, "I ended up on this road going the wrong direction...and it just kept going! There were no exits! I swear I saw the ocean before I found an exit to turn around." :rotfl: Still don't know what road that was.

So anywhere we can get a list of what roads near and around WDW/Orlando are toll roads? (To complicate matters further, we're driving to Port Canaveral to cruise too  )

I also can't help being nervous about something else. Street names. If Florida is anything like Texas, every major street has 2-3 names ;)

"You told me to take Mopac, but I couldn't find it, all I could find was a road called Loop 1"
"That WAS Mopac!!"

:rolleyes1 In traveling, I've discovered sometimes the cities are not so great about putting both names on signs. For example, is I-4, just I-4, or does it have another identity? Does anyone have any idea where I can find out both the number and local name of these major roads?

Your right, alot of our roads have multiple names, I believe the NYS thruway in our area has about 4 or 5 names! Anyway your best bet is to get a good map of Florida, but I wouldn't waste my time on mapquest. I went there for directions and they were calling the roads in my own area names I have never heard of before! They also don't tell you about bridges, it's very confusing, I would much rather look at a map myself and figure it out. But it is fairly easy to get to Port Canaveral, we stay in Coco beach and go that route often to Disney. We take the Bee line expressway, which is a toll road, and go straight across. I think another name for the Bee line is 528, but you should see plenty of signs for the bee line. Here is a website for Florida toll roads: http://www.dot.state.fl.us/turnpikepio/NewWebPages/planner.html click on the different links to the "toll calculator, interchanges and milage, ect". Have a safe trip!! :sunny: :sunny: :cool1: :sunny: :sunny:

There are two tollways with names: 417 is the Greeneway, and 528 used to be the Bee Line but they just renamed it the Beach Line. But many streets change names multiple times (for example, 192 goes through countless named incarnations). And if you venture off 192 into Celebration, you'll encounter Celebration Place, Celebration Avenue, and Celebration Blvd.
