Originally I thought the FP through GAD were rides that you could get in addition to normal FP rides, but the more I read I think that isn't true.

I only true benefit I see is that the GAD FP gives you immediate access to the ride and the regular one gives you FP at a later time and I guess those FPes could run out and you could get none.

Is this all true?

In my mind I think if the park isn't all that busy, Iam wasting the GAD FP because either I won't need one or I could get a "regular" one. Right?

And I have to turn in my voucher before Igo through the park, right? So I have to guess how busy the park is going to be where I could have possibly opted for something else.

I am pretty sure I odn't need the extra day ticket. I have to buy a ticket for my 3 year old no matter what. We have tickets for the rest of us. There could be 5 days but I am pretty sure there are 6.

My plan (i think) was to use the GAD FP for 2 of my 3 vouchers and get one Mickey hat.

IF I do this - what parks do you suggest I utilize this special fastpass?

My plan:

May 28 MK
May 29 (Saturday) Epcot
May 30 WP
May 31 AK
June 1 DS
June 2 Epcot
June 3 MK

I would think my busiest day would be epcot being that it is saturday of memorial day weekend. I am not too worried about AK.

Advice please!

I've moved this thread to the Promotions and Celebrations board. :)

I think Epcot and MK are the best bets if you only have two to work with. For me the benefit of the GAD is that we won't have to backtrack when we have our return time. No backtracking means more time to do other things that we'd probably otherwise miss out on.

The GAD FP's are separate and do not affect your ability to get regular FP's with your admission ticket.

Not only do you get immediate access with a GAD FP, but you can still get a GAD FP after all the regular FP's are gone. You can also use your GAD card for multiple FP's at once on the same ride.

Depends on how busy and what exactly you want to ride. Say you're at Epcot on a low crowd day and the wait at Soarin' is still 30 minutes. You could wait in the line, and/or get a regular FP that has a return time of 2 hours later. If you had the GAD FP, you could get an immediate FP to use on Soarin', ride right away, and still some back with your regular FP later.

And I have to turn in my voucher before Igo through the park, right? So I have to guess how busy the park is going to be where I could have possibly opted for something else.

You could use your admission ticket and go in the park and see how things are, and then come back out to will call and get your GAD FP. Even if you don't have hopping privileges, you can exit and re-enter the same park all day. Or you can check out wait times on your phone - there are several mobile sites and applications that report wait times. You can also check the sites that predict crowd levels beforehand.

Check out this website: http://www.oinc.net/disney/fastpass.php#GAD
It explains how the GAD Special FP card works, and what attractions you can use for in each park.

When you exchange your voucher, they give you a sheet explaining how the GAD FP works for that park.

I would use it at whichever park is going to be busiest. Or whichever park has the ride you want to experience the most.

I recently used my mine at DHS because I arrived in the afternoon and wanted to do TSM several times. I was able to grab a regular TSM FP right before they ran out. I then used my GAD FP and got 3 FP's for immediate entry. So I rode with my first 3 right away and then came back later to use my regular FP. I rode TSM 4 times in less than 6 hours!

I have read the link you mentioned. that is where i got most of my info. i just wanted to see if my logic was correct.

I was thinking MK and Epcot too. Just now to figure out which MK day....

I will add that if you look closely at the list of attractions on that page, you'll find one or two that Disney does not even advertise as having Fastpass any more, light Lights, Motors, Action...so in some sense your original hunt did have some merit. :)

We'll probably use one GAD voucher for FPs (I figure I should actually do what I write about at least once :) but I also like saving $79 a pop too...), and haven't totally decided which park, but I'm leaning towards MK myself.

DHS is also a popular choice at least during busy times, mainly because of TSM and not being able to get FPs much after lunch...
