Not sure if this is the correct place to post. I am currently in Physical therapy 3xs week for lower back pain. I am ok walking, but I have a hard time standing. We are visiting the world next week. I am thinking of getting a doctors note on tuesday at my visit for a GAC. I can not imagine standing in pain for a long, long time waiting in line. I also don't want to send DH on the rides with 3 kids alone if I can not tolerate the standing. Does anyone know where I get the GAC and what is required.
I was not sure if you need a new pass everyday, or one per trip. Thanks

Anyone can get a GAC.
No "proof" need be provided.

You can get all the answers about this you need on the disABILITIES! Board HERE.

And HERE is a sticky about the CAG.

You don't need a doctor's note, but Disney's standard advice for Guests with stamina issues is that they should rent a wheelchair or ECV.

You can get a GAC by simply explaining your needs. As I understand it, you'll still have to wait in line, but you may be able to sit until it's your turn if they have that option available. Might I suggest that you use Fast Pass? I don't wait in long, long lines, and I am physically able to. Fast Pass is certainly worth using.

Keep in mind that a GAC is not a "front of the line access card". Many people misunderstand it's purpose.

I will second kaytieeldr. Unless you're prepared to put up a fight, you're not getting a GAC because you can't stand. it's *not* for endurance issues as said, it's primarily to help assist cast members to know how to deal with issues that aren't as apaprent.

get fast passes-
Since you are going soon, you need to figure out a touring plan fast-
(either purchase one or figure out one on your own.)

a GAC probably can't help you as PP have said that Disney says stamia issues- which can mean standing for long periods - you can't- so that is considered stamia issues- is to rent an ECV or Wheelchair-

if you are doing counter service - you will have to stand-
even with table service there aren't many places to sit while waiting.

A Gac is NOT a pass to the front
Fast pasess and a good touring plan is the way to go.

If. You go to the disABILITIES FAQs thread, post #6 is about GACs (Guest Assistance Cards). There is a link to that thread on my signature or you can find it near the top of this board.
As was already mentioned, you don't need a doctor note. You will need to explain your needs and what you will be told is basically what people have posted here - if you are concerned about standing or walking in lines, the distance you will be in line is only a small part of the distance you will be walking and standing outside of lines. An ECV or wheelchair will be recommended. Many attractions do not have a way to sit and wait somewhere and then meet up with rest of your party.
Some attractions might lpan you a wheelchair while you are waiting in that attraction's line, but in general, if uou need a place to sit in line, you need to bring it with you by using a wheelchair or ECV. Fastpass will also be helpful for you because it limits the time you are in line (although the distance walked is often similar to the 'regular' line. You can also use touring tools/plans like Tour Guide Mike or Ridemax. Those services help you plan to be in the least busy places, which will shorten your wait. That will make more differnce to most people than a GAC.
