Gabby Petito

My God, some of you are so harsh. You are talking about a young woman who is missing and probably dead. Because she had a mental illness, she is not worthy of your compassion?

No. It's not that at all. My whole family has mental illnesses (various ones). I have compassion all day every day for people struggling with it.. What I see is a girl who is not in her right mind and I can't just automatically jump on the "blame the boyfriend" bandwagon, given the circumstances. She seems completely hysterical, but at the same time, bizarrely in control of her crying fits. I sense manipulation and insincerity from her. I hope she is found and gets the help she needs, but villifying this guy with NO information isn't right either.

Bottom line: Where is she? Where are her social media posts? Doesn’t matter how difficult she is. Doesn’t matter how annoying she is. Where is she?

He absolutely deserves to be vilified. He is refusing to do anything that would help find his missing fiance.
That's enough information. He is more worried about protecting himself all the while the woman he was going to marry is nowhere to be found. If he was truly innocent of anything his first thought should be her and whether or not she is in danger. It isn't and that makes him a villain. At some point we'll know if he's a murderer too.

This guy gives me real Scott

He isn't worried about her because he knows exactly where she is and that she's past worrying about. I hope I'm wrong but 46 years of life experience tells me I'm not.

I read that some people think this may be a hoax and thats why he isn’t saying anything.
If that is true, which I personally don’t believe, he is still letting her family believe she’s missing. What a terrible thing to make a family go through.
Either way he is a horrible human.

This seems clear to me, either he knows where she is or he knows her last whereabouts (which is an important distinction to knowing exactly where she is). Honestly I'm not even sure this stuff is in question. I think the question part is did he have something to do with her or was it her or was it accidental.

Say for instance he left her on the side of the road and she died from exposure to the elements but she could have been given medical attention is he had told the police where he left her on the side of the road that could mean culpability there. Or if we go with the best case scenario that she's still alive but wandering around in need of medical attention and he knows at least her last whereabouts..

Say for instance she unfortunately killed herself and he knew and he did not disclose this information..

Say for instance he killed her and he's not telling any details that could locate her body...

The thing I'm not entirely sure about is that he himself killed her, at least right now. I think he knows things and I would hope that his lawyer is advising him correctly on that part.

I'm not sure on that either. But if he pushed her out in a remote spot in Southern Utah he might as well have killed her.

If he knows more and his delay in talking caused her to perish, then he might as well have killed her.

Assuming he is innocent, if there were traveling together in Utah and she suddenly disappeared, wouldn't most people's first instinct be to go the local police and report the missing person? Who would drive all the way across country back to Florida by themselves without saying anything and then refuse to cooperate? Hard to think of many scenarios where his behavior makes sense.

Well, I watched a decent part of the video of the police stop. To be honest I fast forwarded in places, but got the overall tone. I have also been reading various new articles on it.

Did she seem to be a bit of a mess? Absolutely, but quite frankly, both of them seemed a bit odd. And I realize they were probably under some stress having just been stopped by the cops, but they both seemed to be too nervous and jittery to me. It did not seem like they were two lovebirds on a wonderful adventure together.

He absolutely knows more that what he is saying. And for that I will judge him. Did he murder her? I am leaning towards probably, because otherwise his actions really make no sense. But at the very least, he does know what happened to her.

No matter how annoying, manipulative or high maintenance she was, she did not deserve to just disappear off the face of the earth. And the fact that the person she was supposed to marry cannot seem bothered to come forward with the facts is just not right.

My daughter was listening to some podcast last night and the "Zone of Death" in Yellowstone Park was mentioned. I had never heard of this before and I did read a little bit about it but am not that knowledgeable but apparently it is a 50 mile area in the Idaho part of the park that you literally can "get away with murder". Never heard of this zone before.

Okay, crazy theory here. What if these two were somehow responsible for the deaths of that couple from Utah that was found like 2 days after this traffic stop, and now Gabby is in hiding somewhere like Mexico or something and Brian is trying to protect her/cover for her? I mean, it seems super fishy that this newlywed couple was just found murdered on a hiking trail nearby and one of them happened to work at the same place Gabby and Brian had their big public fight that resulted in this traffic stop. Brian was willing to spend a night in jail so Gabby wouldn't have to, so maybe he is willing to take the fall for her involvement in a murder.

Or maybe they are responsible for those murders and he was afraid she was going to talk, so he killed her.

I agree the death of the other couple is super fishy in the context of what's going on here.

Except the other couple talked about being watched by a "super creepy" guy at a campsite they were at...that's not being watched by a "super creepy couple"...

The other couple was also shot multiple times. If either the missing person or her boyfriend did it, it would be easy to check records if they even owned weapons...and with the timeline of the deaths of the other couple, it wouldn't have been possible for them to do it otherwise...the other couple died too soon for the missing person and her boyfriend to have gotten weapons after the Aug 12 incident...

Now if they link the couple and the missing woman, it could be b/c there's a predator looking for young women to prey on and kill...if her boyfriend and her had a public fight at the same place as the other female couple, the guy could have picked up on all 3 as potential victims...

Both "couples" were living the "nomadic" life, so they'd both fit a profile, especially if the one couple split up for any reason...

PS - And the other couple was found undressed from the waist down - so either they were preyed on at a vulnerable time or the perp was also not just a murderer, but no other details were released...

I'm not all in on the story of them being involved in killing the other couple. Just kicking around theories.

I am all in on him either knowing where Gabby is or being involved in killing her.

Actually, I think the "creepy guy" angle killing of Gabby is also plausible...Gabby fits the profile that killed the other women - nomadic stage, young, heading from campsite to campsite...the cops think whoever killed the couple up and left town right after...

What I don't think is plausible is that Gabby or her boyfriend killed the couple - that would have been too easy to run down, and since there are 2 dead bodies, the cops can make murder charges if they match the forensics to someone, and they'd have 2 someones right now that are easily checkable...

Morally yes I'd agree with you but criminally it matters a whole lot.
