If you are driving to WDW in the next few days, we're out of gasoline at most stations in and around Atlanta. Fill up before you hit the outer perimeter.

Well, there is gas at my exit so I think your title is overkill!

I just drove by three gas stations with gas. And I was on the I-285. (Which is what OP means by the Perimeter. We ATL folks don't call it by it's numbers LOL!)

For those of you now in "panic" mode. One of our issues is that ATL has to have different gas for winter and summer. (because we have bad air quality due to too many drivers) That takes place NOW so... between the storm and the "change" we have issues LOL!

There was an article that I read earlier today that Forsyth Co. is out of gasoline. Availability is still spotty around Gwinnett Co. too. There was a HUGE line outside of Walmart in Lawrenceville yesterday for $3.75 gas.

Funny, I just read on CNN that a rumor about gas stations in Nashville actually caused panic in Nashville. Are you sure this isn't part of a similar rumor?
Here is the article:

Definately sounds like a rumor to me as well. I mean, CNN has a headquaters in ATL so I'm sure it would be all over the news. We had a few stations down here in SAV run out last week but they have all refilled and even when they were out, there were still plenty that had gas. They were charging a boatload for it, but they had it.

Seriously - it's not a rumor. The story is on CNN Headline News as of this evening.

We live about 5 minutes from the airport and there is no gas anywhere around Hartsfield. My parents called us Friday to warn us that they were out of gas at all stations in Peachtree City (south of the city). We just thought she was exaggerating, but when we were in the city (Midtown) yesterday, we were shocked to find the majority of stations shut down. We had to drive into Decatur before we found gas.

We filled up then while we were out and there was one station near our house with gas last night, but today there was no gas at our exit.

So - if you are traveling, don't do what we typically do which is wait till the light comes on to fill up - if you are in the Atlanta area you may have to try several exits before you find gas!

We have a severe gas shortgage. There is some gas around, but you have to look for it. It has been a major pain in the butt! Just make sure you keep plenty of gas in the tank and don't take the risk of having to look for it. I think if you find it the price is 4.00 and up.

Well, we are leaving Friday and driving from Chicago so we have to go through ALL those cities mentioned as being out of gas; Nashville, Atlanta, etc. We will just make sure we stop at out of the way stations to fill up.
Nothing is stopping us from getting to Disney!

Live just north of ATL right off of I75. NO GAS anywhere around here. Of 3 gas stations right off of I 75 all are out; the 4 further off and more local are also all out. The QT got a delivery earlier today and the local PD had to direct traffic--looooonnngg lines and they are now out. Yesterday found 1 that only had premium--filled up with that at $4.59 a gallon.

I'm sure that was completely legitimate.... but it reminded me of a couple of years ago when FL got hit with all the hurricanes in a row. We had a bunch of stations down here put bags over the pumps for the regular and mid-grade and sell only premium. We came to find out later that they really did have regular & mi, but the gas stations were taking advantage of the "shortage" fears and selling only premium (at a jacked up "hurricane shortage" price, no less) to make a larger profit.

Anyway, that had nothing to do with this story... I was just reminded of it from that comment....

I stay in Southwest Atlanta (off 1-285). Yesterday, the BP was out of gas, but the Shell across the street had gas. I wanted QT gas and they were out on Fulton Industrial. I ended up going right across the Futlon Co/Cobb Line to a QT that only had regular ($3.97) and premium.

It appears that most BP stations have no gas. I was downtown Atlanta yesterday and noticed the pumps were roped off.

oh YIKES:scared1: :scared1:

I shudder when I read this

reminds me of all the gas problems in the 80's

ooohhh please don't tell me this is spreading:eek:

I can testify that we were nearly dry on Friday here in Middle Tennessee, I got gas in town early Saturday morning and I was out today and there are several stations that are out of gas. I guess this will clear up in a few days, hopefully. There were people fighting at gas stations.

We're driving from Minneapolis on Friday and also likely taking the same route as you. See you there!!!!!! :)

Well.... I don't think the line at Walmart and the gas shortage are related.

The line was huge because that's a CHEAP price right now. Same deal at my local BJ's. No line at the Shell at $4.29 however LOL!

Actually the QT near me only has regular, no preimum at all.

if you come down on 24, stop around the Fort Campbell/Clarksville area...So far no shortages here.

I live about an hour north of the Perimeter and we haven't had any major shortages. To be on the safe side I'd fill up between Chattanooga & Cartersville if coming down 75 though! Hope everyone makes it safely! Scary to think you might run out in the middle of nowhere, huh?

Oh no! I'm an hour away from Atlanta but we aren't having any problems yet! :scared:
