FYI: Just got a call from SW

The 1st flight of the day departing BWI at 6:25a.m. to MCO has been discountinued due to Hurricane Katrina. 1st flight is now 6:40a.m. I don't know the start date, my trip is next month. Not a big deal, but I just wanted to let you BWI Disers know if you've booked that flight you should be looking out for a phone call to change flights.

I'm glad to hear that they actually called you! Most airlines won't tell you and people find out from checking their ressies on-line.

We have the first flight out of ISP in 11 days, I hope they don't cancel that too

I had a flight change on AA in June and they sent an email with the changes their computer put in, which was several hours off the original schedule. I called and the agent was able to change it to a better time, but it was nice just to have SW call and get it done right from the start!
This isn't a cancellation, it's discontinued flight. It never hurts to check though...

I, too, just got a call from SW (followed by an email!) to let me know that my November flight time had been moved about half an hour earlier (from Raleigh NC to Orlando) "DUE TO HURRICAN KATRINA." Getting to Disney World earlier than scheduled suits me just fine!
