I am new to this, so I hope you bear with me!! We have a cabin 7/18-7/23. I think my nephew is really going to love it. We were in a family suite at ASMu last year and he really enjoyed the activities at the pool.

Can someone please tell me what types of activities are available at FW? Also, what kind of "provisions" can I expect at the store?

Thanks!!

Go to the main camping page to Fort FAQ. There is a ton of info on here. There are so many things to do here that you will not have time to do them all! We have been here since last Thurs. and have only made it to the movie and pool one time. The campfire and movie are so much fun but bring your own smores kit, Disney charges two arms and a leg for them. The new slide is okay but the pool is just a great break from a hot morning or afternoon at the parks. If you rent a golf cart you will not be sorry. They are fun and a HUGE time saver. The bus system STINKS and the boats are not any better. If you have your own car, I suggest driving to every park except MK and it will take you at least 45min. from your campsite to get there by the time you wait on a bus and then wait on a boat. If you have a cart, if you hit it right you can be there in 20min. It depends on how many boats they are running.

You can expect EXPENSIVE "provisions" at the store:thumbsup2. You can find most any basic thing you might need but I suggest you bring all you can or go to Winn-Dixie just down the road.

Have a great trip!:) You will LOVE the Fort!:goodvibes

Did you say you would have beer with you:confused3

Sorry, couldn't resist. If you thread goes horribly off track from here just blame me:)

Actually, if you want some adult beverages, you will want to get those off site. $5.25 for a 16oz beer at the trading post:rolleyes1

We had a rental car last Spring Break, switched to the bus/boat system for the last 4 days and preferred it to driving the rental. Yes, we had to wait for buses, but we were doing that anyway even with the car (waiting in lines) By the time we waited in lines for the monorail and/or parking lot trams, to get to our car, to wait to get out of the lots, to drive back to the hotel...we were exhausted. The bus actually saved us time. The boat from MK to the fort is a nice relaxing break in the middle of all that walking and standing in lines. Let someone else do the driving. :) We do plan to get a golf cart, this should eliminate the hassle of waiting for the fort's internal bus system.
