I foresee one day that WDW parks, etc. will be only for guests staying on property in one of their resorts; not in my lifetime, but somewhere down the road an all-inclusive private resort which would include all meals, beverages, transportation, park admissions, etc. Only costs to guests would be souvenirs/gifts/clothing, food items (other than the free dining); all conveniently available onsite. I see Disney constructing enough rooms/shopping centers/theaters/theme parks, etc. to assure their financial viability; truly an all inclusive resort catering to all the needs of those staying onsite; no need for guests to spend their money elsewhere; no overcrowded parks, long lines. The planners can figure out a good mix of guests-to-attractions ratios, based on previous trends.
Is this feasible, or just the diabolical ramblings of a dreamer?

Never going to happen. WDW would never turn its back on the revenue generated by day visitors, off-site guests and Florida locals.

no, and the latter is correct ;)

:lmao:

The financial viability of the existing model is already waaaay beyond question.

I don't know if this is feasible but I have heard scenarios like this for a number of years from various people - basically that Disney will build enough hotel rooms that they can restrict the parks to onsite patrons. I really doubt that it will happen but you are not the first person I have heard suggest this.

There are more that 100,000 hotel rooms off-site of Disney property in the Orlando/Kissimee area. OP you think Disney is going to close off their parks and send all those people SW, US/IOA, LL, and/or BG? Disney is going to shutdown access to DTD for people looking for a meal, movie, DQ, and/or the new bowling alley that is coming? What about the water parks and golf?
Some people can dream, great dreams but most of time they vanish long before you remember what they were.
