Ahh.. laughing is just one of the best things in the world, don't you think?

Last night on Nick at Night they had an episode of Roseanne on that is one of the funniest ever.

It's the episode (early in the series) where Becky had a bit of a embarrassing "accident" while giving a speech at school. Dan and Roseanne asked Darlene what happened. To put it bluntly, at the end of the speech when Becky said "That you for taking the time to listen to my side (or something to that effect)" she CUT THE CHEESE! It had to be the way Darlene delivered the line.. I dunno.

So what are some of your favorite funny moments in sitcom history? I'm sure Vitameatavegamin from I Love Lucy is up there. As well as the candy factory episode!

One of our favorite moments is from WKRP in Cincinnati...." With God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."

I like all the Halloween episodes from Roseanne.
Also the episode from Threes Company, where Jack and Chrissy make a bet to see which sex is stronger, Jack has to give up women and Chrissy can't eat for the weekend (I think).
All because Chrissy had eaten a cream pie Jack had made for cooking class.

Carol Bennett doing her Gone with the Wind and walking down the stairs with the curtains and curtain rob sticking out brings back fond memories

My favorite...........the Mary Tyler Moore show in which she tries to make it through the funeral of Chuckles the Clown without laughing. Anyone who saw this episode probably still remembers it!

For some reason, I can only think about Cosby Show reruns.. too much Nick at Night.

The episode where Theo wants to move out and get a job instead of going to college sticks out in my mind. He and Bill are sitting there with Monopoly Money discussing expenses...I forget the specifics, but Bill will tell him he will need X amount of dollars for rent, insurance, etc, and Theo keeps rationalizing how he will save money. Bill gives him $50 per month for clothes, and Theo says, "Make it $100. I want to look good." At the end, Theo says, "See.. I have everything I need, and I have $300 left over to boot." Bill looks at him and shouts, "YOU HAVEN'T EATEN YET!" Theo retorts that he will live on bologna and cereal, and keeps $200 of the money. Bill then inquires as to whether or not he will have a girlfriend...when Theo says, "Of course!!!" Bill grabs the last $200 out of his hand and walks away...

Another classic moment is when Vanessa and Rudy come banging on Cliff and Claire's bedroom door late at night. Cliff tells them that is is rude to bang and yell, and tells them to come back, knock gently on the door, and when he asks "Who is it?" they say who it is and wait for permission to enter. So they try again, knock gently, and when Claire answers, "Who is it?" both of them bellow at the top of their lungs, "WHO IT IS!!!"

Taxi: Rev. Jim taking his driving test.

"Whatttt does the yellllowwww lighhttt mean?"

SLOW DOWN.

Denise < --- has a LIFE full of sitcom moments these days ;)

My 2 funniest episodes are already mentioned. The WKRP with the turkeys dropping out of the helicopter and the Taxi episode with Jim taking the driving test.

Another one that I laugh a lot at is the Friends episode where Joey sticks his head in the turkey.

:D What a fun thread.

I can think of two off the top of my head that crack me up everytime.

1. All in the Family (LOTS of funny episodes of that show :teeth: ). Archie tells Edith to call her cousin in California. Edith: "on the phone?" Archie: (said in that classic sarcastic Archie tone) "No, Edith, open up the window and yell to him!" Edith proceeds to walk over to the window to open it until Archie stops her and tells her to use the phone.

2. Everybody Loves Raymond when Ray and Debra are arguing about whose parents are worse on Thanksgiving morning. Debra is busy getting the turkey ready for the oven and is getting very heated. On the way to the oven, she drops the turkey on the floor a couple of times and then just throws it, literally, in the oven. All the while, Ray is just staring at this in shock.

I love the Friends episode with the head in the turkey!!!!!!!!

Another favorite is Will and Grace, when she wears the water filled bra to the art gallery and it springs a leak. That one makes me laugh so hard my eyes water!!!

The funniest Frazier episode I remember is the one where Frazier brings his new boss home for dinner, hoping he will be interested in Daphne, but the new boss is gay and is interested in Frazier.

I also loved that Raymond episode with the turkey!

"NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!"

I laugh out loud at every single Seinfeld episode I've ever seen.

The episode of Frasier where Frasier, Niles, Daphne, Daphne's friend, Martin and "Guy" the ski instructor are all in the ski lodge together.. Martin's ears are stopped up and he mis-match-makes everyone.. There's a lot of sneaking in and out of the wrong bedrooms, and the climax is "GOOD, GOD, FRASIER!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE WITH GUY!"

The episode of Raymond where Frank hands out the "special Halloween candy" is the first one that come to mind.

Oh yeah, I just thought of another.

The Dick Van **** show, where Laura accidentally leaks that Alan Brady wears a toupee on TV. Then he sits there talking to all his toupees on their heads, ROFL!!!

Erika

Well, that was interesting. My post got bleeped for typing his name/name of the show.

Erika

The Seinfeld episode where Kramer answers the telephone in Jerry's apartment and George runs out of the bathroom with his pants around his ankles yelling "Say Vandalay!". The scene ends with Jerry standing over George, who is laying face down on the floor with his pants still around his ankles, and saying, "and you want to be my latex salesman.".

I cound't just pick one. Just too many to name! There are just a ton here that were already listed that I thought of (Vitameatavegamin, Chuckles' funeral, WKRP's turkey stunt, ect.), so here's a few more that immediatly came to mind:

Dick Van DVke Show- the Walnut epsidode with the closet full of walnuts.

Everybody Loves Raymond- Ray and Debra fight over who will take the suitcase upstairs. In the words of Marie- "Don't let that suitcase full of cheese be your big fork and spoon." :teeth: lol

Get Smart- The one where Max and 99 get chased through an amusment park.

Frasier- When he sings "Buttons and Bows" on the TV show and can't remember the words "Hippidiy Dippidy Pippidy Po. Somthin' and Somthin' and button and bows!"

Fun thread!

Barney Miller when all the guys at the station got high on special brownies and the Chinese Detective (Yemana) said, "Let's go down to the beach and shoot clams." OMG, that still makes me laugh.

Many of episodes from All in the Family but especially:
Edith going through the change of life. I did think that was funnier when it wasn't happening to me.

The one where Maude came to help out when the whole family got sick.

Taxi: The one where Judd Hirsch drempt that someone was going to kill him on a certain day. Everything on that day in reality went the same way as the dream right up to the moment when when he was suppose to open his front door to see the killer. When it really happened, he didn't do it, Danny DeVito did. He screamed thinking it was the end but it turned out to be a girl scout selling cookies. :teeth:
