And here's my Disney faux pas of the day

I must've been watching too many entertainment shows in the past week with all their Amy Winehouse talk. . . because I had to reread that three times before I realized you meant when the ride went down for rehab. Yep - for a brief moment I thought Figment was a drinker. :rotfl:

That's OK...DW told me last night that Snow White was getting rehabbed...and it took me a few moments to sink in that it was the ride. :) Of course, I still had to make a few snide comments...

:lmao: OMG!!
yes i can really see Figment singing They Try to make me go to Rehab but i said NO NO NO at the End of the ride:rolleyes:

I can't find my notes to say when exactly this happened, but it was sometime between Jan 4 and Jan 20 of this year. We were on Jungle cruise. Had an excellent skipper. We thorougly enjoyed every minute. Anyway, we had just passsed the crashed plane, and she asked what would make the plane crashed. The chap across from me yelled out "Hippo's""! We all roared. :rotfl2: We were long past the hippo's before we could get back on spiel. Our skipper loved it, and said "Yes, it's those plane crashing hippo's! Is it ok with you if I use that?" She must have told her fellow skippers, because a week later we were on JC again. Different skipper, (not as funny) and he said the plane crashing hippos were responsible for the plane crash.:rotfl:
Er... I hate to say it, but the bit with the Hippos is an old, old JC joke:
"Over to your right you'll see a downed plane. And that can only mean one thing: Hippos."
It sounds like the "chap" across from you thought he was being clever and rather than getting flustered the Skipper turned it around on him. :)

Or he knew the routine and blurted it out, spoiling the punchline for the skipper...

Edit: never mind...we're saying the same thing...

Ermm.. I don't get it. :confused3 Is it a pun that I'm missing here? Or a reference to something Disney that I'm just not getting? Explain please... and then I'm sure I'll feel dumb... but that's ok.

Last week I was in line at the Magic Kingdom to meet Jiminy Cricket and the lady behind me says:
"That Jiminy Cricket sure is a fine lookin' grasshopper."
*pause*
"Oh wait, I guess he's a cricket."

To me it was sad that she initially even made the grasshopper comment and then it actually took her a few seconds to realize her mistake.
:rotfl:

and to the poster above me... when you think hippos, dont you just naturally think plane crashes? I know I do.

And in the very final episode of LOST, we'll find out that hippos were really behind the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. The whole Desmond not entering the numbers was just a red herring. :rotfl:

The polar bears ain't got nothin' on those hippos!

I think the sad part is that she thinks an insect is 'fine lookin'...and i thought i had poor taste in guys

:rotfl: Very true! Never thought of it that way!

Although i'm pretty sure she didn't mean it that way, but it was fun of you to point that out so I can make laugh about the comment even more.

This just happened the other night. I was in line at the CS restaurant right next to the Rose and Crown Pub. The line was moving very, very slowly, and eventually a CM came out to tell us that their deep fryer had been broken all day and still wasn't working 100 percent, so things were taking longer to cook. When I finally made it to the front to get my food (30 minutes later, but it was SOOOOO good), I commented to the male CM ringing me up, "Well, it looks like you had a rough start, but now you're moving along." And he responded in his English accent "Oh, it's horrible, sir! The chipper was down all day, and it's just now getting going. It was bloody awful!"

It was very polite, but just struck me as very funny at the same time. I love how he called the deep fryer a "chipper."

Okay, I am loving this thread. I am only on page 30 so far, but I gotta add something funny that I said. I still crack myself up when I think about it.

Summer 2006 we took a side trip to DL from Las Vegas where my dd had a dance competition.

I had my cell phone in my pocket and I really don't know why since you really can't hear it ring. My dd who was 5 and I rode BTMR. We are speeding along and I hear my dd say "Mommy, your cell phone" and I said "I can't answer the phone, I am on a roller coaster!"

I didn't know that my phone had slipped from my pocket and down through the little hole never to be seen again. I am sad I lost my phone, but I still can't believe I thought it was ringing. :rotfl:

Firstly I LOVE this thread - it really cheers me up :goodvibes

Finally I have my own contribution!! (This may be one of those 'you had to be there' types but I'll go for it anyway ;) )

We were on the bus after the P&PP on Feb 5th -and it has to be said the party was fantastic - we walked on all rides, got spots to watch the parade and fireworks on Main Street only minutes before they were due to start - the park was one of the emptiest I've seen it - (this is relevant, honest :) ).

Anyway.......on the bus a lady was talking on her cell phone and she was complaining how busy the party had been  boy she'd hate it in the summer :rotfl:

She then continued by saying that due to the unseasonably warm weather Splash Mountain had run dry and wasn't working. She was insisting to whoever she was speaking to that it wasn't being refurbed but had actually run dry because of the heat - again I'd hate her to be there in the summer

(Yeah, I know you probs had to be there but hey ;) )

One other - not Disney related but it was at the airport on our way home - I was in Borders and overheard a woman complaining to her companion about the lack of new books coming out because of the writers strike..........

I found these hilarious, didn't seem like a "had to be there" type thing to me! Imagine Splash Mountain running dry in this terrible February heat!

We were eating at 1900 Park Fair and we went into the elevator to leave as we were comming out. When we were eating there we all got crowns and my sister got a tierra. But, when we were getting into the elevator, a little kid saw my brother wearing the crown and got all happy and said "
hi king!!". That was the funniest thing ever.

Good! I know my Mum and I found them hysterical and had to stop ourselves laughing on the bus, but I wasn't sure :)

I know it was warmer than average last week but wow lol, it was still nothing compared to the summer! :rotfl:

:rotfl: :lmao:

Oh, that's rich. It's right up there with some guests I overheard a few weeks ago bragging that they were chosen to test ride Splash Mountain and how amazing it was inside.

I totally forgot this one from a few years back...

We're in the bus line at Magic Kingdom to go back to CBR. A little kid, maybe 5 or so, was none too happy to be going back to the room for a rest in the middle of the day - having to leave MK. He said, "I'm holding my breath 'til we go back in [to MK]!" His mom crosses her arms and leans back against the rail and watches him. He holds his breath with big puffy cheeks - as dramatic as possible. A fair amount of time later, he's still going. We're all watching around him. His mom, very calmly, reaches toward him and pinches his nose shut with her fingers. The kid's eyes got a little bigger and he lets out is breath all at once.

Funny enough, he didn't get mad. He just stared at his mom for a couple of seconds and started swinging on the rail like nothing happened. You go Mom!
