. . . of reminding me how much I miss people sometimes. I went to a funeral this morning for the father of twin classmates of mine. I have known this family since I was old enough to remember people. I went to Kindergarten with the boys, 8 years of Catholic school, and 4 years of high school. We went our separate ways in high school--after spending 9 years of classes together. Most people do though. I would still see them from time to time, but we were never "close" in high school. Today it seemed like all those years dissolved in one warm hug, a touch, and an "I love you." It feels like I've found brothers that have been lost. Their dad was a wonderful man and I know he will be missed. But this occasion reminded me of how important those people from our past are and how sometimes reconnecting with people, even if just for a moment, can be such a gift.

I know what you mean. This time of year is always hard for me because about 4 years ago, I lost my uncle on Good Friday. *sniffle* That was a very hard year because a SIL died right in front of Valentine's Day, a friend of the DILs died about 3 weeks later, my uncle died on Good Friday and my grandfather (may he rot in agony  )died that May.

JEEZ!!!! That's alot of funerals in a very short time. I guess I haven't had that experience. :grouphug: to you.

Thanks. It was a very odd year. My SIL was killed in a car crash, DFIL's friend just keeled over one day, my grandfather (the jerk :furious: ) died of colon cancer and my uncle died of cirrohsis (sp?).

I didn't have a 'funeral' outfit before then, but I bought some stuff from Target that got a LOT of use that year. ::yes::
