Hi everyone! So, my husband is being very support of this wild idea of mine (we're taking the 3 day cruise in January with our 4 1/2 year old daughter and 2 year old son). But, I know how NOT wild he is about lounging in the sun for hours on end and musical theatre. Does anyone have ideas or suggestions for other fun things he can do on the ship? I think on the islands we'll do some more active things (snorkeling etc) that we both enjoy.
Anyway, just a thought
thanks so much

Hi -
My husband sounds a lot like yours. While I could spend every day, all day, in the sun - he can't stand it. We started off on the 3 night cruise and he loved it so much we took a 7 night a few months later. We are now booked on the 10 night Christmas cruise. He took several books with him and there are plenty of shady places to sit and read. He also spent quite a bit of time talking to any crew member that would engage in conversation. He learned more about the ship than I thought possible!
To be honest, I don't know what else to tell you, except that he is anxiously awaiting our next cruise. Unfortunately, the days just seem to fly by. I'm sure you will all have a fabulous time.

Boy am I glad you posted this. That has been on my mind. This is only my second day checking out this board and there is so much helpful info here. But on our other cruises my husband lived in the casino. I am just so afraid he will be bored. Anyone else have a husband like mine??

There's a sports bar with tv's to watch the game or fitness center. Arcade with vidoe games, basketball courts, not sure how athletic or interested in that. Movie theatre usually has current release films. There are other activities listed on the Navigator such as tours and classes. He will find something to do.

BE SURE TO LOOK AT THE EXCURSIONS. IF HE LIKES FISHING, HE COULD TAKE A DEEP SEA EXCURSION, HE CAN SNORKEL, CHECK THE ATLANTIS ON PARADISE ISLAND, PLAY BASKETBALL, WORKOUT, GET A MASSAGE, WINE TASTING, TOUR THE BRIDGE OF THE SHIP, KICK BACK IN A HAMMOCK AT THE ADULT ONLY BEACH ON CASTAWAY CAY, HAVE A ROMANTIC DINNER WITH HIS WIFE AT PALO'S ON THE SHIP. BELIEVE ME, I AM NOT A SUN DWELLER, BUT I ENJOY THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE SHIP AND ALL IT HAS TO OFFER. MY DW IS A SUNDWELLER, AND SO WE ALL SEEM TO GET WHAT WE WANT OUT OF THE CRUISE. HE'LL ENJOY IT!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

If you're only doing the 3-day there really won't be that much free time. It is really only two full days and you'll be in port on both of those. In the evenings there are lots of things to do besides the main theater shows. He could go see a movie in the other theater or head to one of the lounges or ESPN Skybox (gone from the Magic but still open on the Wonder).

I think you'll be fine. Have fun!

I'm sure he will love the surial spa treatment :)

Send the kids to the kids clubs...........then both of you go to your cabin and lock the door.

Rumor has it that the ESPN Skybox on the Wonder will go the way of the one on the Magic when Wonder goes in for refurbishment in October of this year. If so, it'll be gone by January. If Wonder does get the same treatment as Magic, they will add TVs and more of a sports flavor in another lounge.

If all else fails, he could simply eat for three days straight.

Wow! My 300th post!
