Fulton's Crab House Opinions

I never understand all the poor reviews of this restaurant. We live about an hour away and go there to eat 3-4 times a year. We have always had great service and really good food.

It is expensive, but we love it.

I'm the seafood lover in my family and my DW really doesn't like seafood. For this reason, in all our trips to WDW, we've never eaten at FC. I'm bound and determined to try it next week, even if only for a lunch.

One thing I have noticed about Fulton's is that reviews are either great or terrible. I find it interesting that there seems to never be any "so-so" reviews. People either love it or hate it.

I still think it's bizzare that in Orlando, there's really no option for seafood except Fulton's (at WDW, at least) and Coral Reef. Strange, IMHO.

Dont forget Flying Fish, that place is wonderful!

We ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! However since they took it of DDP we don't eat there anymore. I wish they would include it again. Yes I remember when it was on the plan.

Maybe this is why it's getting decent reviews. It's not trying to "give the food away"

I have eaten there serveral times. I think it's overpriced, but you are paying for location. My service has always been very good.

There are other options for seafood in Orlando. Just not on Disney.

We've always had excellent food and service at Fulton's. It's one of our favorites!

I thought about Flying Fish but DS really only likes shrimp and crab and it seems like Fulton's is the only place that has that, at least in WDW.

Thanks for all the opinions, it's truly appreciated. I guess I will just have to decide if I want to spend that much on a meal.

How about doing lunch rather than dinner. It is cheaper and I just looked at the menu and they have a shrimp/crab combo at lunch! :)

We ate at Fultons back in 2003 when it was still on the DDP. My family absolutely loved it. We all got the Alaskan King Crab and it was absolutely, without a doubt, one of the best meals of our trip. We had an amazing server (can't remember his name, it's been too long!) and the restaurant atmosphere is really neat. Since we now get the DDP we won't be returning to Fultons, but if we had the $$ we absolutely would. Be aware though, for the 4 of us, the bill was over $400!!:scared1:

<<Bob shouts colorful metaphor after colorful metaphor and says,>>

"Really?!?!?!? What did ya'll DRINK? 3 bottles of Dom???"

I was going to ask the same question. We were there in September, four adults, and we each had one drink, appetizers, our meal and one dessert. With the tip, the bill was around $275.

Well, we each got an appetizer @~$10-15 each, King Crab @ ~$50 each, a drink @~$5 each and a dessert @~ 10 each

That comes to about $325 and then on top of that, add in alcohol and tip...

yep, over $400!:scared1:

I'll be kind today and instead of saying it's wretched, I'll just say it's no good.

Uncle is indeed being kind today. This place has a well earned reputation for poor service and overall mediocre food. In short, no reason to visit there given all the other good choices there are at WDW.

Oooooh I agree....but I'll not be nice and say it was AWFUL. The lobster was overpriced, dry and completely tasteless. The best thing on the plate were the potatoes!

I will say this though: The Chocolate Creme Brulee was divine. :cloud9:

I have been twice and both time the food was not hot. I sent it back the last time and it came back warmer but still not hot. It was fresh, I will give them that, but if my food isn't hot, I don't want to pay a fortune for it. Service was OK, but after mediocre food for a high price, I will go to Flying Fish or Cali Grill.

Going there next month for lunch. Lunch prices seem very reasonable.

Love love love it. Loved it so much the first time we tried it, we went back immediately the next night. Yes, that was a BIG splurge, as it is spendy! But it was so incredible--delicious food, fantastic service, lovely atmosphere. We are from Seattle, which gets some of the best seafood in the world, so we know of what we speak. And those crab claws...heaven!

I, too, wonder if a lot of the rash of bad reviews were holdovers from the DDP. And that maybe since it has been taken off the DDP, everything has improved. *shrug* I hear less and less bad reviews and more and more glowing ones in the past couple years.

We will be going again, possibly twice, when we return next week!

We were among those who thought it was way overpriced for what you get and also weren't impressed with the service. THAT WAS THEN........now we absolutely adore the place. Went back a few weeks ago for the first time in over 5 years for lunch on our arrival day and had the Chilled Seafood Platter - half Maine lobster, king crab, shrimp in the rough, blackened sea scallops with cocktail and remoulade sauce with probably the best Bloody Mary I've ever had. We were so impressed with this lunch we canceled an ADR later in our week to have dinner there. Again we were blown away by the quality of the seafood here. We had the Louie Fulton's Ultimate Crab and Lobster Experience For Two - Our specialty combination: a feast of steamed crab and lobster. Alaska king crab, snow crab, dungeness crab and 1 1/4 lb. Maine lobster, with hash browns and grilled asparagus. We were able to sub stone crab which is in season for the snow crab....another INCREDIBLE meal here.:thumbsup2

This place has made a complete turnaround from what it was!:goodvibes

both times we've been there the service was extremely poor and the food was just OK. On our second trip we sat a table of six and watched as 4 tables seated after us were served and left before our orders were taken. the waiter a very nice young man explained with a sheepish grin that they were short handed and our table had been forgotten (how that happens I am still not sure.) But hey they sent out a complimentary shrimp cocktail to cushion the blow. That's one shrimp cocktail order (5-shrimp) for 6 people:confused3 we had a good laugh at that one:lmao:

Tigerkat: Unfortunately, the only way I'll be able to determine that for myself is to actually go back there for dinner. It would be nice if it were true.

I gave the place FOUR dinner chances--but that was awhile ago, I admit.

We had a fantastic meal at Fulton's on DH's birthday in March! It was outstanding! The food was delicious, DH had the Naragansett Lobster and said it was the best lobster he's ever had! I had the lobster tale and crab legs, sooooo good!! So fresh and tender!! I'm not sure what MIL and FIL had but the loved it as well!

The service was incredible! I had ordered a bloody mary that was super spicy! I couldn't drink it! Our server took it away and brought me a glass of wine we weren't charged for either.

However, It was a very expensive meal. For 4 adults and 2 kids, with several alcoholic beverages (beer and wine) it was close to $500. It's definitely a wonderful splurge! We'll definitely dine there again!

I know the feeling. We've had horrible meals back to back years at KONA, not sure when we'll give them another chance.
