Tipping is out of control. The kids at Subway have a tip jar on the counter.

Tipping has gotten out of control IMO.
I've never been to a full service station. I don't know of one within driving distance in my area.
It's mandatory in NJHow much does this push the price of the fuel up?
Also, in most areas of the country, the few remaining full service stations charge a premium for their gas, so the cost of the extra service is included in the price.
In NJ all our gas is FULL SERVE(one of the perks) Now by full serve I am talking just pumping gas - not cleaning the windows and checking oil. (although they will do that if you ask)
So do you tip when you go full serve? We were having the discussion with friends and it is such an always or never thing- but we are the of the sometimes variety. Depends on the attitude I guess.
Let me tell you, when it's 20 below zero with an even colder wind chill factor, it's WELL worth the extra price.![]()

No!
Here, full service gas is priced 10-15 cents/gallon higher than self-serve. So, if we choose full serve, we pay a premium. I like to think it is because they pay their attendants more, at least I hope so.
I was at a BK last week, and they had a tip cup on the counter. I'm starting to feel like a gangster in a Scorcese film, handing 5 dollar bills to 7 different people as I get seated at a restaurant.
