It's come up on another thread, and I had no idea there was a difference, so... does your state still have JUST full service gas stations- and where?

I'm in Maine and I can't remember the last time I saw a full service station... and that includes in NH, where I spend a fair amount of time.

OR-Full Service due to law. New law recently passed where certain rural areas in OR you can self serve. NV-LV: mostly self service, yet a few full service on the strip and other areas around the valley. CA-OC, I know there's a few full service stations. Most full service I've seen In NV/CA are lumped with car washes.

Over here most are where you fuel up then go in to pay and buy ay sundries.

There is a movement however to pay at pump using credit cards.

I'm in CA. I haven't seen full service in many years.

Although I no longer live there, New Jersey prohibits self-service gas stations. You MUST have your gas pumped by an employee of the establishment.

As for "full service," no, the majority of stations in NJ just pump gas. My company's NJ locations even have a sign stating the gas "attendants are unable to perform any other automotive services," such as checking/filling oil or washer fluid or tire air pressure. They might volunteer to wash your windshield on rare occasions.

True full service stations are a dying breed.

I pump my own but when we leave Mackinac City every summer, there's a gas station that is full service. We always stop there because it's kind of cool to let someone else do your gas and windows, etc.
I bet MIGrandma knows which gas station I'm talking about. ;)

We live in a small city in Western MD..there are only 2 stations around here that still have attendants to pump your gas. That is all they do..there are no full serve ones. All the rest are self serve, which is fine by me. Then I know what is really being put in my car.

There's only 1 state now that has JUST full service gas stations which is NJ.

I live in Texas and I honestly had no idea full-service gas stations existed until a few months ago when I saw something about gas stations in Oregon on Facebook.

Baltimore MD - used to see full service more as a kid in the 80s and early 90s, now can't remember the last time I saw one.

Buffalo NY - 99% self though there is a small chain in the area (very small) that still does dull service, but I have only gone there once.

We have both. Self serve is definitey most common but one of our full serves motto is ‘we jump to the pump for you’.

I’m in Pennsylvania and I didn’t realize they still existed either until I read about the new laws in Oregon. I was amazed. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a full service gas station.

my town (in MA) does not allow self serve stations, so full serve it is! actually they only pump gas, no cleaning windows or anything else, but I still consider it full serve since I don't have to get out of the car
