Hey,

We decided to book a long weekend trip to WDW for mid august! We will be staying at BoardWalk Villas...in Friday-out Monday. Do they still have that campfire and movie deal at Ft. Wilderness? We were wanting to use this trip to relax a bit and thought that would be a nice thing in the evening with the kiddies.

As far as I know they still have it. We did it last year and it was fun. One word of caution though - BUGS! Not a lot of them, just those nagging little ones that fly around your head.

We did it a few weeks ago. No bugs yet. It was fun. They have a corny little sing along at first with 2 campfires going. Kids can roast marshmellows and make smores if they want to. There is a concession stand that sells marshmallow roasting and smores kits. I think they were $2 and $5. The smores kit had plenty of fixings for all 6 of us to have a couple and 2 wooden roasting sticks. Not a bad deal actually.

After the singing they played an old Chip and dale cartoon and then Beauty and the Beast on the Big Screen. Kind of like a drive - in movie. I think it is a different movie every night. Some people brought their own camp chairs but there are bleachers too. Chip and Dale characters are there.

Do you recall the approx time it started and if they have it every night or just select nights

Thanks

We saw "Hercules" April 2nd, and the movie started at about 7:45, with the campfire starting about a half hour before that. It was getting dark around 6:45 - 7:00 at the time.

I'm guessing like most "drive in movies", things begin just around dusk, so that the start time would closely follow sunset.

As to seating, the wooden benches have backs on them, which make for comfortable seating. The bleachers have no back support on them, so they are less comfortable. If I went again, I would bring the folding camp chair.

Gosh, it sounds so wonderful. One of these vacations I am definitely going to stay at Fort Wilderness. Thanks for posting the info.
